Hello stampers and happy Tuesday to you. Time has once again slipped through my fingers when it comes to blogging. I hope that you missed me!! Perhaps you have been a part of my Fourteen Days of Love video series. These gorgeous cards were a part of that, and I now also have a complete tutorial bundle for you to either get for free with a purchase OR if you are a part of my team. Otherwise you can purchase it on my blog here.
One Design, Two Outcomes
I love it when you can make one design and use it for two completely different purposes. This started out as an adorable framed art project. I thought it would be perfect to give to a loved one so they can put it in their work space and be reminded that they are loved. What do you think?
It can also be made into a card which you can then mail anywhere in the world!! We often forget to tell our people how much we love them.
Of course, I am all about options. The card also has two choices: black mat or sweet sorbet mat?? Both have their charms as you will see.
Fun Little Bee Mine Tip
While the Bee My Valentine stamp set is adorable, the Bee Mine paper is over the top!!! You can cut myriad images out of this paper. Some of it is a little busy for my taste, so use it in small doses, OR cut out the adorable bees and use them as fun accents. For these cards I also fussy cut the jars and the honey pot. It really isn’t difficult and it makes for very affordable crafting.
The other great tip is to use white embossing on black cardstock for your sentiments. It really pops in contrast to the yellow and red backgrounds and it coordinates with the gingham ribbon. Repetition is a great design technique!
Valentine’s Day Present
For one day only, I am offering buy one get one free for pdf tutorials. This is how it works. Purchase one tutorial from me on my blog, then message me to let me know which tutorial you would like for free and I will send it to you. Valid on February 14, 2024 only.
Of course the very best present you can give yourself as a papercrafter is the starter kit. You can get the beautiful glass plate, silicone palette and gray shammy as a free bonus OR you can an extra $41 in product which is enough for you to be able to put the die cutting machine in your kit!!! Here is the link if you want to join my Canadian team. If you live in Europe, join my team here. Either way, I can promise you that we will have a LOT of fun together, plus I have 18 years of expertise as a demonstrator that I can share with you.
Bee Mine Video Tutorial
Seeing is believing, so here is a video tutorial for you. See first hand how I made these cards. You can pause and fast forward as often as you like, you are the boss!!! Thanks so much for joining me today. Hugs from Holland, Jackie
Be still my heart!!! The Bee Mine suite is SO stinkin’ adorable. I am all pumped for my Fourteen Days of Love. Join me as I made an adorable project every day from February 1 to 14. If you want to create along with me you will need to purchase the following supplies:
Bee Mine Suite
Black gingham ribbon
Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and memento black ink pads.
Deckle Circles dies
Basic Black, Real Red, Basic White cardstock.
More Than Just Cards
Here is a cute little home decor piece that I made with the Bee Mine Suite. I used a frame that I already had on hand. The opening for this frame is 4″ square, but what you see is only 3 1/2″ square. What an adorable way to show your people that you love them?
Fourteen Days of Love
I got the idea for Fourteen Days of Love from fellow demonstrator Darla Watson. These Bee Mine projects below were all inspired by her tutorial. I changed things around a bit but her tutorial was super helpful. Stay tuned as I plan to make my own tutorial as well!!
Happy Friday stampers! I love stories, especially Christmas stories. Regal Reindeer looks like some of the creatures and characters from some of my favourite stories. Today I have a card for you as well as some adorable shaker Christmas ornaments. I am also going to share a stunning card made by Tami White. Shall we take a look?

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. This is the first Wednesday of the month and that means it is the Monthly Global video hop. The theme is Anything but a Card. I chose to do a home decor piece. Aren’t you supposed to do something everyday that scares you? I chose to make a watercolour painting with stamps. Let’s take a look.
Anything but a card
Did you know that Stampin’Up! carries watercolour paper? It comes in 5″ by 7″ pieces but I had to cut it down to 4″ by 6″ to fit the opening in my frame. Don’t throw those extra strips away! They are perfect for practicing different techniques and for trying different amounts of water saturation.
Here you can see it unframed.
My First Attempt
This was the first watercolour I did and then I forgot to take a picture of it in natural light. These photos were taken at night so they’re not the best, but they will have to do. I like this version too. You will notice that I had a little too much water on my reeds.
I’m Curious!
Which watercolour do you prefer? The one with or without words? When you tackle a project like this each one of your attempts will be different. It is so much fun and your pack of watercolour paper comes with ten sheets! What are you waiting for?
Video Tutorial
Here is my video showing you how I did it.
Hugs from Holland
By the time you are reading this I am spending my fourth day in Holland already! I am so excited to share pictures of Holland in the spring. This is the first time that I am in Holland for early April. It is also my shortest stay in quite a while, just a month this time. Thanks for joining me today and happy stamping!
Hello stampers! The romance of Parisian Blossoms is inspiring to me. This beautiful suite makes it so easy to celebrate the love in your life, also with a scrapbook page or with a beautiful framed piece. We all know that the Eiffel tower has long been an icon for romance. I also decided to celebrate the love in my life with two different projects.
My Parents
Lately I have been sharing a lot about my parents. They got married quite late in life according to the standards of the day. Mom was 26 and Pap was 31! As they have been blessed with good health and long life, they have now been married 61 1/2 years. Even though they have never been to Paris, they have such a deep and abiding love that I knew their wedding picture would be perfect accentuated by this suite. This paper looks so good with a black and white picture. Keep in mind that Mom made and designed her own wedding dress!
My Own Love
As many of you already know who follow me, I have also found new love. It would be more accurate to say that I have rediscovered my old love! I first met Gerard when I was 17 years old at my cousin’s birthday party while on vacation in Holland. We wrote letters for a year and then he came to Canada to visit me for my 18th birthday. The ocean was too large and we parted ways. Largely due to the family connection, we found each other again two years ago. I shared a bit of the story on this scrapbook page.
I used both sets in the Parisian Blossoms suite to make this page as well as the very versatile Hand-Lettered Prose dies to make the title.
A Personal Note
I know that I promised you a pdf tutorial today, but things transpired yesterday to prevent that from happening. Pap is now in the hospital, the pain from shingles became unbearable. Family comes first, but please know that I will get this done as soon as possible. Thanks for joining me, I do so appreciate your support, both personally and in my business. Today is the last day of the sale, so remember to stock up on your neutrals and regals card stock and ink pads, they are all 15% off! Eight selected bundles are also an additional 5% off, they are featured at the end of the product list if you are interested.
Edited: pdf now available
If you want to make all these projects with no guesswork, I have made a comprehensive pdf for you and it is only $15. Just click on the buy it now button below and I will get it sent to you. Thanks so much for your support, it really does mean the world to me.
Hello stampers! This Christmas Countdown Project is so much easier and quicker to make than it looks. Sometimes I can be a lazy crafter. Even though all those little details look beautiful, when there are 25 little box fronts to decorate the process can seem daunting!
The Lovely Surprise
The lovely surprise with this Christmas Countdown Project is that it was so very easy to put together. It looks very intricate and beautiful but when you use my system it is done in about an hour.
Punch out all the box front pieces.
Lay out all the pieces in the order that you want them.
You will notice that all the coordinating pieces that are the same are also stamped with the same background images. For example all the light birch pieces are stamped with the long borders in mossy meadow and cherry cobbler.
After stamping the images you put on the stickers. My only tip is that you cut the red and green horizonally striped piece a little shorter. If you leave it the way it is then it looks like it was a mistake. It is just a wee bit shorter than the width of the box front. Se #3 , #10 and #17 and #24.
Put all the dimensionals on the back of the circles before you even punch them out. That way you can put them on your box fronts in one step.
The Trial
Make sure you take a moment to lay out the pieces in the order that you like. I followed the example in the instructions but you can change it up of course. If you are pleased with the overall effect then you can adhere them to the box fronts. The last step is adding the numbers that already have the dimensionals on them.
The Finished Project
How do you like my finished project? I was thrilled with how easy it was to do and how lovely it looks. Another great thing? You can make a totally different countdown or other themed game on the backside of these boxes. How about random acts of kindness? A countdown to a birthday? Date night possibilities? A fun chore chart? This Countdown to Christmas project kit is also sturdy and well balanced so it won’t topple over on your shelf. I am offering a class on November 9 if you want to make this in a fun group setting, but I know you will also be able to manage this on your own. The advantage of doing it with me is that you can use my coordinating stamp set.
Thanks so much for dropping by, I hope you take the time so show me some love by pinning my projects and maybe even leaving a comment.
