Hello stampers! I hope you are enjoying our Father’s Day themed blog hop. I’m very excited to be sharing some Father’s Day cards using both Waterfront and Dad Jokes. I have joined with other demonstrators from all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand who do not have an “upline” to do this Father’s Day themed blog hop. You may have arrived from Terri Stewart’s blog. She had a fabulous project!
I decided to use the Wood Textures paper because it screams “masculine” and I also love it. I paired it with Waterfront which is just so much fun to play with as well as Dad Jokes because it has a really nice Happy Father’s Day and Happy Birthday Dad sentiment as well as some other funny one-liners. I have to confess that this is not my original design. I totally cased it from Dena Albee. The only thing I changed was the colours and the sentiment. Here is my card:
Dena used marina mist and old olive for her card as well as crumb cake for the mountains. I tried that too, but I liked the combination of garden green, dapper denim and crumb cake better. She had used watercolour paper but I used shimmer white cardstock. An aquapainter makes it even more of a watercolour look.
Just to show the versatility of both this stamp set and this layout, I created one more card using the tropical images in the stamp set and the returning coastal cabana as a base. I really appreciate the feel of this card too. The colours, the textures and the layout are all very beachy.
I love that the Waterfront stamp can be used to create so many different scenes and be used for both feminine and masculine cards. The wood textures paper is very on trend and had a great feel to it. This paper makes it so easy to make a striking masculine card. Pairing it with linen thread is just a natural fit. I hope to play some more with this layout and will share in another post. Please add a comment and let me know what you liked about my design.
Thanks for hopping with us. Now click on the next image to zoom to Sue Kremer’s blog to see what fun ideas she designed.

Love your cards! And I admire your ability to part with TWO pieces of Wood Textures! Sandy
Thanks Sandy! Do you know what my trick is for parting with the paper? I bought 5 packs!! Then I can go crazy designing and creating and not worry about running out and still have enough left for classes.
