Hello stampers! Do you have a cause that is dear to your heart? Well, Stampin’Up! does, and it is Ronald McDonald House Charities. In fact, they create a special stamp set each year just for this cause. $3 from each set “Sending Sweet Thoughts” goes directly to RMH. I thought I would make some cards using this set and thanks to some great inspiration from Stesha Bloodhart and Kim McGillis I had great success. This set combines a few of my favourite springtime elements:  ladybugs, gingham, strawberries and butterflies, not to mention canning jars!! Take a look:

Soft and pretty with sahara sand colour wash on shimmer paper, strawberries coloured with Blends. This stamp set will be used in the fundraiser on May 16.

This beautiful card is totally cased from the very talented Artisan Award winner Kim McGillis. Here is her post so you can check out her work. The only thing I did differently is colour my strawberries with cherry cobbler blends. The next card is my own creation. I used a vellum overlay on the jar to soften it up a little. The framelits come from the set Everyday Jar Framelits Dies on page 213.

Love the grass framelit from Picnic With You bundle, unfortunately that is retiring May 31!

Do you love the grass at the bottom as much as I do? It is part of the Picnic With You bundle which is sadly retiring on May 31, so get it while you can!! I love the 1/4 inch double-stitched ribbon with the cute little “x”s, it adds just the right touch. I coloured the butterflies with our Blends which will be available to order again in June. As soon as they are available I hope to start another Blends Club.

Love the stick in the jar with the ladybug as it reminds me of my childhood. What a great stamp set to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. We will use this set for the fundraiser on May 16.

Do you see the little water droplets on this card? They look SO real and add just the right touch to this card. Do you know where to find these hidden gems> On page 33 of the Occasions catalog, bottom left corner. They are called Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes. This card is clean and simple with the Wood Textures designer series paper in the background cut at 5″ by 3 3/4″ to give a nice white border all around. I think matting it in red would also be quite striking. In my books, you can never go wrong with a little red!! This card was inspired by Stesha Bloodhart from Wisconsin who in turn was inspired by Steffi Helmschrott from Germany. Here is Stesha’s blog post.  I love our Stampin’Up! family from all around the world.

I know several people who have been greatly blessed by Ronald McDonald House Charities. It is bad enough having a child sick in the hospital far from home, but even worse having to bear the expense of staying in a hotel. RMH provides a homey place to stay for families with sick children. I hope that you will help me in supporting this great cause. How you ask? There are two ways:  1. If you live in Canada order the stamp set Sharing Sweet Thoughts either in person or online using the host code AY9KCAEQ 2. Come to my fundraiser on May 16 and make as many cards as you want either from 9:30am – 2:00pm or from 6:30pm till 10pm. Minimum donation of $30 please. 3. Share this blog post on social media so that more people will know about the fundraiser and the stamp set.
