Hello stampers! Daisies are a happy flower and are always in style. In the paper crafting world if there is lovely flower and a punch to match, that is indeed a fabulous combination. Meet Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight, two stamp sets in the upcoming catalogue. Daisy Delight is an old favourite and Daisy Lane is the new kid on the block. Both sets coordinate with the Daisy punch which I am using today. There is also a new punch coming and it is a smaller daisy so you can make even more different flowers (I am thinking gerberas). Do you remember the pictures that were taken of babies and young children with daisies? I know I am showing my age. The name Anna Griffin comes to mind. Well, I also associate daisies with denim for some reason, and that is how this card was born!
As I was trolling the internet I was inspired by a card done by France Martin for the background of this card. You might be wondering where the little yellow flower in the background came from. It is from the March Paper Pumpkin, the one with the beautiful succulent paper. The big focal flower is from the new Daisy Lane and the daisies in the background are from Daisy Delight. That flower has an open centre with a corresponding centre which of course had to be yellow, or more precisely, daffodil delight. The pocket is my favourite part. It was made by first stamping the Burlap background stamp in blueberry bushel on the same colour cardstock. Wait for it to dry and then for extra insurance, run an embossing buddy over it. Then stamp the stitched detail in versamark and white emboss with the heat tool. Does that ever make it pop! If you are too impatient with this step then your embossing powder will stick to the burlap stamped image. That would be no fun at all.
Here you can see the amazing detail in that pocket. The stamp set is called Pocketful of Sunshine and it is retiring. The matching Pocket framelits are NOT retiring, so this is a stamp set you really want, especially for that super cute stitching detail. There is another coordinating set for the pocket dies coming in the new catalogue, so you will have great value for your framelits. The Burlap stamp is also retiring.
Here is a closeup of the adorable tag in the pocket. All the images are from the new Daisy Lane stamp set. You could also tuck a gift card or a crisp bill in the pocket as well if you want to show some more love. This was stamped with daffodil delight and blueberry bushel. The tag is just a smidge under two inches wide so that it will fit easily into the scallop tag topper punch. Below you can see both the Burlap background stamp and the Lemon Zest stamp set that are retiring at the end of May.
Here you can see the two sets Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight. Both work with the current Daisy punch and there is going to a new, smaller daisy punch in the upcoming catalogue. Can you see the possibilities with these two sets and the two punches?
