Hello stampers! Did you know that my favourite class is my weekly coffee and a card class? Do you know why? It is because there is such a sense of community in this class. Before we make even one card, we first gather in the kitchen and chat over a cup of coffee or tea along with whatever treats I have baked that morning. It is so nice to hear the buzz of conversation and the bursts of laughter. People make new friends at this class and they bring old friends along. I love when new stampers come because watching their faces as they realize what they can do when they ink up a stamp and put it on paper is just so terrific. It brings me deep joy. Everyone is creative, we are just too often afraid to express our creativity. That is where I come in. I am your creative coach. I make it easy for you by having all the pieces of card stock and paper already measured and cut for you. Last Tuesday one of my customers brought her gramma for the first time. Not only did gramma have a wonderful time, the two of them also had a great bonding time and gramma met some new friends too. Here they are:

I usually focus on just one stamp set or bundle at each coffee and a card class. This way you can see the versatility of a set and see if it something you would like to add to your personal stash. We all have different tastes and also different affinities as to what kind of stamping we like. Some people like intricate stamping and lining things up. For other people this is a nightmare. So not all stamps are for all people. At this class you can try before you buy! Isn’t that awesome? I like to think that three cards for ten dollars plus a great cup of coffee and some fresh baking is very good value. When do you plan to join us? Here is what we are doing this coming week:

Watercolour technique using the April Paper Pumpkin.

Do you recognize anything from these pictures? I am guessing that maybe the bold bright colours and graphic images look familiar. Yes, they are from the April Paper Pumpkin, “A Sara Thing”. I love the sparkly flowers, the water colour paper and the font that is Sara’s own handwriting. Sara Douglass is the CEO of Stampin’Up!  daughter of our dear Shelli Gardner, co-founder of Stampin’Up! The last card you see in the bottom right corner is a clean and simple card made with the new Eastern Palace Suite, which you can order May 1. Here is another picture where you can see that there are also amazing envelopes to match with the cards.

While this card says Best Dad, you can also choose Best Teacher which is very handy for those end of the year teacher gifts.

The watercolour look you see is created with our watercolour pencils and a paint brush that was included in the Paper Pumpkin kit. If you don’t already subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, you might want to consider it. How awesome to get a stamp set, a mini ink pad and all the supplies to make some great projects all ready to go for you. No fuss, no muss, just fun! What a great way to get creative with your kids, your mom, your friends, or just for some me time? My favourite story to share is about one of my Paper Pumpkin customers. She gets one kit for herself and one for her grand-daughter and then they Skype and make it together. How creative is that? Quality time with a long-distance grandchild. Paper Pumpkin kits are also great to take along to the cottage or on a less happy occasion, to the hospital if you have to sit at the bedside of a loved one for prolonged periods of time.

Notice the pretty lined envelopes that come with the April Paper Pumpkin.

Here is the last card included with this Paper Pumpkin. In all there were twelve cards, a roll of washi tape, sticker sheets for the leaves, pretty glitter flowers, glue dots, dimensionals and a mini archival black ink pad. In Canada Paper Pumpkin is $27 plus tax. Shipping is included. I think that is great value. If you are interested just go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and please select me as your demonstrator.

Lots of pretty details and a very versatile stamp set in the April Paper Pumpkin.

Every once in a while you also get a special surprise in with your Paper Pumpkin. This time it was a package of four mini watercolour pencils. I love surprises. I am looking forward to what my customers think about this kit at our next coffee and a card class. Till next time!
