Hello stampers! Stampin’Up! has done something very different for the first time. They have offered coordinating products that you can buy that will make your free sale-a-bration items that much more enjoyable. I think many of us were wishing that the frog stamps had framelits because they are just so cute cut out. Lasting Lily framelits also make this beautiful stamp set so much more versatile. When the Lasting Lily framelits were released I knew right away that I wanted to feature them at our next Fab Four event. Stampin’Up! had a sample made using the Gingham Gala paper and I cased it tweaking it to make it my own and using all the colours in the Gingham Gala assortment of paper: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist.
All the cards have the same recipe. The gingham gala paper is cut to exactly fit a card front: 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″. The largest stitched shape circle is used to cut a circle in the front. On a 4″ square of white card stock I stamped the leaves in either old olive or mossy meadow. This panel was then adhered to the back of the gingham gala piece. Linen thread was then tied around twice and tied into a bow. On some cards this thread went over the circle opening and on other cards it went under or below the sentiment. The sentiment was popped up with dimensional as were some of the lilies.
In this balmy blue card the sentiment comes from the great new set from the Saleabration Coordination offering called More Than Words. I love how the red pops on the light blue background.
Another vibrant contrast! Lemon lime twist gingham gala paper with gorgeous grape Lasting Lily framelits. The framelits allow you to cut the lilies and have them “coming out of” the circle for a very pleasing effect. No fussy cutting!! The sentiment comes from the fabulous set Strong & Beautiful.
It was such fun playing with all the spring like colours when the wind was howling around me this weekend. We didn’t get that much snow or freezing rain, but the wind made it sound like we were in the midst of a raging snowstorm. This was literally a breath of spring in my stamp studio!
I actually used Calypso Coral on this card, not Grapefruit Grove like I wrote in the description of this card. I love the vibrant colour contrast with the softer gingham gala paper. The linen thread makes it feel like a bouquet that you just picked up at an outdoor farmers’ market.
The last card is Grapefruit Grove Gingham Gala paper with Highland Heather Lasting Lily framelits. The saying is from the free sale-a-bration set Part of My Story which you cannot buy but can only get for free with a $60 purchase only until March 31, 2019.
The framelits cut out both lilies, a leaf and both stems as well there are two different sized labels for the sayings.
What did you think of these cards? I love the fresh, crisp feel of them and I think that they would make a lovely gift of assorted cards for a friend’s birthday or Mother’s Day. There are so many ways you can bless people with your handmade cards. Instead of buying expensive gifts for your loved ones give them the gift of your creativity. Not only will they feel the love, but they will in turn be able to pass this love on to other people. The gift that keeps on giving!!
