Hello stampers. On Saturday I had my monthly Sweet Suite Saturday class and two of the cards used Brusho. What a lot of fun it was! Everyone’s cards were unique and beautiful and I was inspired to keep creating. So when everyone went home and it was time to clean up, I kept the Brusho out and I made this card. We had already decided that for next month’s Sweet Suite Saturday we would use Lilypad Lake and I had three cards all ready to go but I needed one more. I decided that it would be another Brusho card. After a quick peek online I found some inspiration from Becky Jensen. You can see her card here. It is such a treat to have an idea to build on. Do you want to see what I made?
I think the white heron from Lilypad Lake looks striking against the Brusho background. Now the question is does it look better clean and white like this or with a saying? Here is the one with the saying. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about it.
The front of the card was cut out using the stitched rectangles framelits. So easy and so elegant! The brusho background was done on shimmery white cardstock but you could also use watercolour paper. I used Prussian Blue and Yellow Brusho for the background. The sentiment is also from Lilypad Lake. Right now you can still save 10% on the Lilypad Lake bundle, but in the new catalogue it will no longer be a bundle, so keep that in mind when you order.
In this next photo I show you how I layered the rectangle frame overtop of my Brusho layer.
I used regular dimensionals to pop up the frame over my brusho background but you could also use dimensional strips. That got me thinking that this could also be an amazing shaker card!! I hope you enjoyed today’s technique card. Brusho is going to be retiring and I just want to encourage you to get it because it really does bring out your inner child. As adults we don’t take enough time to play and this product actually does just that. It gets you to play and forget bad weather, difficult circumstances, pain, whatever. I’m so happy I discovered it!
