Count on Me Reverse Bears

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am showing you a Count on Me Reverse Bears card. It is so much fun and so simple to do that you will be amazed! The sayings in this stamp set are fantastic and that bear has just the right shape to make me smile. With the simple reverse stamping technique you get double the fun! Read on and I will include the video for how to do just that.

Count on Me Reverse Bears

I have only had time to make a bear card and a kangaroo card but I have seen some great other examples of super cute ideas for this set. I think my favourite is from Germany where that demo drew clothes on the bears!!

The neat thing about these bears, besides the fact that they are reverse stamped, is that they are coloured with our new skin tones Blends! The next kangaroo card is the same! The bears were coloured with the darker tones and the kangaroos use the lighter tones. I guess the “skin tones” aren’t just for humans!

New Skin Tones Blends

Reverse Kangaroos Too!

What’s good for the bears is good for the kangaroos! Take a look at the next cute card. It’s a European slimline card which means it is 21 cm by 18 cm scored at 9 cm. I had some scraps of Sweet Conversations paper left over which I adhered to the thick basic white card. The sentiment was stamped in versamark on basic black cardstock and embossed in white. I love that look!! To continue the black and white theme I added a 1cm strip of black polka dot paper from the Pattern Party host paper in the back of the annual catalog. The main panel is a die cut from the Ornate Layers dies.

Even the centres of the flowers are coloured with the Skin Tones Blends. The outside of the flowers is Daffodil Delight, the one is light, the other dark. Granny Apple Green was used to colour the leaves and stems. I made a spatter by flicking the brush tip of a smoky slate blend against the lid. Works a charm!!

Romantic Windmills

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Yesterday I had some fun with romantic windmills! Honestly, to see a windmill at the backdrop of flowering fields is truly magical!! That is why I was SO happy to see the Flowering Fields suite in the new January to June mini catalog. I really hope that YOU can come to my Day Away with Jackie class on March 4 featuring this suite. Of course there will be an online option as well. Let’s take a look at what I have made and what you will also be able to make with me at this fun class.

Romantic Windmill Cards

A slimline card is perfect for showcasing the beautiful Flowering Fields paper. Did you know that we now have incredible slimline envelopes available in the catalog? Check them out on page 53 of the mini catalog.

Slimline Flowering Fields card with windmill.

I made another slimline card using the Ornate Layers dies and a gold spatter technique that I am still perfecting. Which windmill do you like better? The tone on tone white one or the one above?

Stamped Flowering Fields with Romantic Windmills

If you look at the Tulip Fields stamp set you will see some wedge shaped stamps that can seem a little intimidating at first. I started with some scrap pieces of white and just played with some colour combinations and patterns. After that it made sense and I was able to make this card. Rather than stamping the sky I chose to use the beautiful paper instead. Wow!!!

Day Away With Jackie Class in March

On the first Saturday in March we will be making five cards using the Flowering Fields suite. Cost is $100 but you get the Tulip Fields bundle as well as Brushed Brass Butterflies, a 6×6 assortment of Flowering Fields paper and two yards of windowpane check ribbon. Check out this blog post to see one of the other cards that we will be making. That post also has the PayPal button so you can register for this class easily!

Stay tuned for more fun Flowering Fields cards, maybe more of them will also have romantic windmills. If you want to see some of my photos from the real tulip fields, check out this post.

Flying Home Next Week

On Tuesday I fly home again and of course I am super excited to see all the grandkids, my kids, parents and siblings. After that I get to see some of YOU!! On Saturday February 5 I am hosting a Day Away With Jackie class featuring the In The Moment stamp set. How I love this set too and the cards in my class are fabulous if I do say so myself. They also seem to have the “Dutch touch”. If you cannot come to that class you CAN enjoy the pdf tutorial. I am also going to make videos of these cards for those who cannot attend. In order to access the videos you must place an online order with me for the stamps sets used for the cards.

Thanks!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I appreciate “seeing” you. How can I do that? Well, vaguely to be honest. In my “back office” on the blog I can see how many people have stopped by and from where they have come. The best way for me to know that you have been here is when you leave a comment. Trust me, that makes me super happy!! I hope you have a wonderful day. Here in the Netherlands we are having a rare sunny day, so my heart is light! Hugs from Holland.

Timeless Tiles a Perfect Fit!

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I am featuring a great card using Timeless Tiles. This stamp set is a perfect fit with In The Moment. Do you know why??

Timeless Tiles a Perfect Fit

Have you seen the patterned paper that I associate with In The Moment? It is the Heart and Home suite paper. In The Moment is actually on the page before this suite but I think it is a perfect fit! My favourite design from this paper is the one that is misty moonlight and looks like tile. That is why I had to have this Timeless Tiles stamp. Now I won’t run out of this pretty paper.

Timeless Tiles strip trick

A Timeless Tiles Story

When I stamped the background for this card I had to trim it down a little to make it fit properly. There was a small strip left over and I of course I saved it. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then I adhered the strip under it before cutting it with the die from Ornate Frames Dies.

In The Moment rescue

If you look carefully at the image of the lady holding the wine glass you will see a blue smudge on the top right. I did not stamp this myself, but I did rescue it from my class two weeks ago. This mistake was only an embellishment opportunity. The sentiment will cover this up perfectly don’t you think?

Timeless Tiles Card

Here is the finished card made with a couple of rejected items and turned into a beautiful creation. To see how perfectly this fits with my other In The Moment cards, check out this post.

Timeless Tiles, In the Moment and Flowing Flowers card

The saying on this card is from Flowing Flowers. I also stamped the inside with some of these flowers. You see, I had originally wanted to create a card with that set but the technique that I wanted to use needed markers. I have no stampin’ write markers here in Holland, so this card will have to wait another week or so.

Flowing Flowers samples

The card that I wanted to make was going to be based on the card you see on the top left of this picture. Stay tuned!!

Calming Camelia Draw

Don’t forget that if you place an online order with me using the current host code (always on the right hand side of the home page of my blog) you will be entered into a draw for Calming Camelia. You have a one in six chance of winning! (based one each person placing a $65 order) Thanks for joining me today, I hope you have a super day. Simply click on the links below to shop with me.

Faux Chalkboard Technique

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am featuring a Happy Mail in Holland card that uses the Faux Chalkboard technique. Special thanks to Chris Margrie for this lovely card!!

Faux Chalkboard Technique

Chris made this card after watching my YouTube video showing this technique. I haven’t made a card like this since that video, so it is high time that I do so. It won’t be happening today though. COVID still has me in its grip. All the other symptoms are gone but today I still feel weak and feverish. When I try to do some work I break out into a sweat, so a blog post is all that is happening today! It was meant to be that Chris’ card arrived this past week so that I could have an easy blog post AND I had happy mail to cheer me up.

Faux Chalkboard card

Chris’ card is a basic white base with rococo rose and sahara sand layers. I really love that you also used the technique on the oval sentiment. Chris has sent me happy mail in the past and you can read all about her home town Barnstaple here.

Faux Chalkboard Technique Video

Here is my video showing you how to do this easy and fun technique. I would love to hear from you if you try this technique! Send me a picture or tell me which stamp set and which colours you used!

Thanks!

Thanks for joining me today and a special thanks to Chris Margrie for your beautiful and timely card. Your squirrel is going to head back to the couch and go back to reading a great Dutch book. I hope you stay healthy and count your blessings. Till next time, happy stamping!!

PS. Don’t forget about the draw for Calming Camelia. You will make my day by placing some online orders. Every time I get to $375 I will do a draw for the Calming Camelia stamp set.

Simply Marbleous

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today’s cards feature the beautiful “Simply Marbleous” paper that you can get for FREE during saleabration which goes until February 28, 2022. One of side of the lovely paper has a delicate marble look and the other has a bolder marble streak in it. I think that you will find that this paper is particularly suited to monochromatic cards. Let’s take a look.

Simply Marbleous Paper

Marbleous is not actually a word, but Stampin’Up! seems to like using interesting adjectives in their product descriptions. Nonetheless, the paper is fabulous!! I paired it with another wonderful saleabration stamp set called Calming Camelia. This is a host exclusive set which you can get for free is you have a $375 workshop. If you think about it, all you need is four people each spending less than $100 and then one of you will get this set. With a $60 order you can also get the Simply Marbleous paper for free as well.

Chance to Win

COVID makes it difficult if not impossible to have in person classes and clubs, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have stamping fun. If you place an online order this week you could win the Calming Camelia stamp set. Each person that orders will also get a Simply Marbleous paper sampler in the mail as well. Just use the host code below.

Simply Marbleous Cards

Here you can see two of the Simply Marbleous cards that I have made this week. One is with Bumblebee and the other with Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. I totally cased the Bumblebee card from my team member Kathy Burke. The Ornate Layers dies were also specially ordered so that I could make this card. No other die would do.

Bumble Bee Calming Camelia card

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

I did a video tutorial yesterday with this card in my exclusive Prime Time With the Pampered Stamper group. Curious as to how you can be.a part of this group? Click here and see what it entails.

Gorgeous Grape and White Craft Ink Refill Card

This Gorgeous Grape card has a slight twist. I used the white craft ink refill to colour my Calming Camelia flowers.  On February 2 I will do a video showing this technique in my Global Monthly Video Hop Group. Perhaps you can join me?

Gorgeous Grape Calming Camelia card

If you have a sharp eye you will notice that the dimensions for this card seem different. They are!! This is a European sized card using A4 cardstock. It is longer and narrower than our cardstock in North America. This card is 29.7cm by 10.5 cm scored at 14.9cm. The Gorgeous Grape layer is 13.9 cm by 9.5cm and the Simply Marbleous Paper is 13.6cm by 9.2cm. I was hoping to make this card with my Dutch girls at Koffie en één Kaart Klas today. That couldn’t happen because I tested positive for COVID19. Thankfully I am not super sick, I am writing this blog post after all and will do a video this afternoon for my Training Group.

Next Monday

Next Monday I will be featuring more Happy Mail in Holland with a beautiful card from Chris Margrie. She used the Faux Chalkboard technique that I shared a few years ago on YouTube and also in this blog post. You might want to try it to before Monday!

If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used today AND get in on the draw for Calming Camelia, then just click on the links below. If you live in Europe you can shop with me here.

Have a super day!!
