Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I am featuring a great card using Timeless Tiles. This stamp set is a perfect fit with In The Moment. Do you know why??
Timeless Tiles a Perfect Fit
Have you seen the patterned paper that I associate with In The Moment? It is the Heart and Home suite paper. In The Moment is actually on the page before this suite but I think it is a perfect fit! My favourite design from this paper is the one that is misty moonlight and looks like tile. That is why I had to have this Timeless Tiles stamp. Now I won’t run out of this pretty paper.
A Timeless Tiles Story
When I stamped the background for this card I had to trim it down a little to make it fit properly. There was a small strip left over and I of course I saved it. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then I adhered the strip under it before cutting it with the die from Ornate Frames Dies.
If you look carefully at the image of the lady holding the wine glass you will see a blue smudge on the top right. I did not stamp this myself, but I did rescue it from my class two weeks ago. This mistake was only an embellishment opportunity. The sentiment will cover this up perfectly don’t you think?
Timeless Tiles Card
Here is the finished card made with a couple of rejected items and turned into a beautiful creation. To see how perfectly this fits with my other In The Moment cards, check out this post.
The saying on this card is from Flowing Flowers. I also stamped the inside with some of these flowers. You see, I had originally wanted to create a card with that set but the technique that I wanted to use needed markers. I have no stampin’ write markers here in Holland, so this card will have to wait another week or so.
The card that I wanted to make was going to be based on the card you see on the top left of this picture. Stay tuned!!
Calming Camelia Draw
Don’t forget that if you place an online order with me using the current host code (always on the right hand side of the home page of my blog) you will be entered into a draw for Calming Camelia. You have a one in six chance of winning! (based one each person placing a $65 order) Thanks for joining me today, I hope you have a super day. Simply click on the links below to shop with me.
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am featuring a Happy Mail in Holland card that uses the Faux Chalkboard technique. Special thanks to Chris Margrie for this lovely card!!
Faux Chalkboard Technique
Chris made this card after watching my YouTube video showing this technique. I haven’t made a card like this since that video, so it is high time that I do so. It won’t be happening today though. COVID still has me in its grip. All the other symptoms are gone but today I still feel weak and feverish. When I try to do some work I break out into a sweat, so a blog post is all that is happening today! It was meant to be that Chris’ card arrived this past week so that I could have an easy blog post AND I had happy mail to cheer me up.
Chris’ card is a basic white base with rococo rose and sahara sand layers. I really love that you also used the technique on the oval sentiment. Chris has sent me happy mail in the past and you can read all about her home town Barnstaple here.
Faux Chalkboard Technique Video
Here is my video showing you how to do this easy and fun technique. I would love to hear from you if you try this technique! Send me a picture or tell me which stamp set and which colours you used!
Thanks!
Thanks for joining me today and a special thanks to Chris Margrie for your beautiful and timely card. Your squirrel is going to head back to the couch and go back to reading a great Dutch book. I hope you stay healthy and count your blessings. Till next time, happy stamping!!
PS. Don’t forget about the draw for Calming Camelia. You will make my day by placing some online orders. Every time I get to $375 I will do a draw for the Calming Camelia stamp set.
Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today’s cards feature the beautiful “Simply Marbleous” paper that you can get for FREE during saleabration which goes until February 28, 2022. One of side of the lovely paper has a delicate marble look and the other has a bolder marble streak in it. I think that you will find that this paper is particularly suited to monochromatic cards. Let’s take a look.
Simply Marbleous Paper
Marbleous is not actually a word, but Stampin’Up! seems to like using interesting adjectives in their product descriptions. Nonetheless, the paper is fabulous!! I paired it with another wonderful saleabration stamp set called Calming Camelia. This is a host exclusive set which you can get for free is you have a $375 workshop. If you think about it, all you need is four people each spending less than $100 and then one of you will get this set. With a $60 order you can also get the Simply Marbleous paper for free as well.
Chance to Win
COVID makes it difficult if not impossible to have in person classes and clubs, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have stamping fun. If you place an online order this week you could win the Calming Camelia stamp set. Each person that orders will also get a Simply Marbleous paper sampler in the mail as well. Just use the host code below.
Simply Marbleous Cards
Here you can see two of the Simply Marbleous cards that I have made this week. One is with Bumblebee and the other with Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. I totally cased the Bumblebee card from my team member Kathy Burke. The Ornate Layers dies were also specially ordered so that I could make this card. No other die would do.
Here is a look at the inside of the card.
I did a video tutorial yesterday with this card in my exclusive Prime Time With the Pampered Stamper group. Curious as to how you can be.a part of this group? Click here and see what it entails.
Gorgeous Grape and White Craft Ink Refill Card
This Gorgeous Grape card has a slight twist. I used the white craft ink refill to colour my Calming Camelia flowers. On February 2 I will do a video showing this technique in my Global Monthly Video Hop Group. Perhaps you can join me?
If you have a sharp eye you will notice that the dimensions for this card seem different. They are!! This is a European sized card using A4 cardstock. It is longer and narrower than our cardstock in North America. This card is 29.7cm by 10.5 cm scored at 14.9cm. The Gorgeous Grape layer is 13.9 cm by 9.5cm and the Simply Marbleous Paper is 13.6cm by 9.2cm. I was hoping to make this card with my Dutch girls at Koffie en één Kaart Klas today. That couldn’t happen because I tested positive for COVID19. Thankfully I am not super sick, I am writing this blog post after all and will do a video this afternoon for my Training Group.
Next Monday
Next Monday I will be featuring more Happy Mail in Holland with a beautiful card from Chris Margrie. She used the Faux Chalkboard technique that I shared a few years ago on YouTube and also in this blog post. You might want to try it to before Monday!
If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used today AND get in on the draw for Calming Camelia, then just click on the links below. If you live in Europe you can shop with me here.
Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today’s card features the fun stamp set Wild Cats. I am going to have to channel my own inner wild cat as I am pretty sure that I have COVID. Gerard tested positive yesterday and today I have the symptoms as well. Will get officially tested today. In the meantime, I don’t feel too badly, a scratchy throat and a bit of the chills. Let’s take a look at my card, it could get interesting!!
Wild Cats Card
I originally made this card for my weekly Cheer Corner videos. It was a lot of fun to make and I am looking forward to making some more cards with it. Nice to make a card that doesn’t have flowers on it!! I love flowers as much as the next person but it does feel very refreshing to have a different subject matter.
What???? Do you see that bottom picture? It’s miniscule! I’m going to have to take another picture so that you can see the detail in the card. Sometimes my camera plays tricks on me. I wanted to share the photo anyways so you can get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes in a blog post. If you look closely, you can also see that I forgot to put my watermark on them. COVID brain!! At least that is my excuse for the next couple of days.
More Inspiration
Here are a few more cards that I would like to CASE (copy and share everything) if I have time.
I love how she focused on the patterned paper in this suite and only stamped her sentiment.
I am really looking forward to giving this card a try! Michelle Zindorf is an amazing artist and creates lovely scenes with brayered and sponged backgrounds. You can check out her blog Freedom in Creating here.
The last card that I am going to share from other demonstrators is from Mary Deatherage. This is a triple-twisted easel card for those of you who love a challenge! Mary’s blog is called Stamps’n’Lingers. Be sure to check out her blog because it includes a video on how to make this card.
Case The Catalog
Did you know that I often go to the catalog when I do my Stamping Through My Stash videos? It is a great place to start for inspiration. My wild cats card came from there. Take a look at the photo below and see if you can find it.
How to Video
Sometimes it is just really nice to see how a card is made, and perhaps to see if I mess up along the way!! Here is my video, if you like it please share and be sure to subscribe so you get notified when I post another video.
Thanks!!

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. How many of you would like to start the day with coffee in the window? The idea of having a cozy window seat with a beautiful view is very inviting. To be able to start the day slowly contemplating life’s blessings and the business of the day, I love that. The card that I am sharing today has a very mellow and introspective feel to it, perfect for a Monday morning!
In the Moment: Coffee in the Window
The idea behind this card is to stamp the image on a subtle patterned paper. I used the paper from the Bloom Where You’re Planted collection. Use your Blends to colour the window. I used Smoky Slate. Stamp the lady on a scrap of shimmery white and colour her as well. I used Misty Moonlight, Soft Sued and Petal Pink ink and a Water Painter. My intent was to have this card coordinate with the cards that I made for my “Day Away With Jackie” class. If you want to participate in this class, you can still order your supplies online from me and I will send you the pdf tutorial for free!! I am going to record some videos showing you how to make these cards and you can access them in a private Facebook group.
The next photo just shows the “fussy cut” woman with the coffee cup. She’s up quite early don’t you think?
This card was totally inspired by Angela Meyer. I just changed up the colours and the patterned paper. Please check out her blog here and see her other fantastic creations at Wild Violets Art.
