Hello stampers and happy Tuesday to you. I know….it’s not the regular blogging day but I really want to share the Faux Leather Technique with you. For this faux leather technique I am going to use both Regal Reindeer and Nuts About Squirrels. I did this so you can see how it looks and works with both a red rubber stamp as well as a photopolymer stamp. Let’s see what you need at home to do the Faux Leather technique.
Faux Leather Technique Supplies
Heat gun.
Fun Foam which you can get here in the Netherlands or here on Amazon.
Early Espresso Ink
Blending Brushes
Stylish Shapes Dies
First determine which shape and size you want and die cut them. Then heat the fun foam until the edges start to curl. Have your stamp already inked and ready. Press very firmly into the fun foam and hold for five seconds. Use blending brushes and early espresso ink to distress the edges to further the faux leather look.
Faux Leather Card Samples
Here are the cards that I have made using this very fun and easy Faux Leather technique. I was actually inspired by my own video from years ago which I think is my most popular YouTube video ever. If you want to see that blog post as well as the video, you can find it here.
Seeing is Believing
Of course seeing is believing, so be sure to check out this YouTube video. If you haven’t already done so, please subscribe to my channel so more people can connect with me.
Want a new catalog?
The new mini catalog is coming out soon and perhaps you would like one. Place an order with me this month and I will be sure to send you this brand new catalog. We all know that holding an actual catalog in your hand is far better than browsing through it online. If you have ordered with me in the last three months and do not live in the Chatham area, please let me know if you want me to send you a catalog. I will put them in the mail when I am back in Canada.
Thanks for much for joining me today, I hope you have a super day. Be sure to try out this fun technique and remember, the supplies that you need are all in the links below for easy shopping.
Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you too! I was hoping to host a Canadian Thanksgiving dinner here for my Dutch friends a week later but when I went to order a turkey I had a little sticker shock. A 12 pound turkey was going to cost me 120 euros. That’s about $160. I couldn’t do it. Instead I will share a few of my creations from the last month that have a nice fall vibe.
Apples Make Me Happy
Thanksgiving needs to have pie and one of those pies should be an apple pie. The other two should be pumpkin and pecan because we all know that you need at least three pies to choose from! I made this fun apple card a couple of weeks ago and I just love how the apples turned out.
When the kids were little we used to go apple picking at the local orchard and then we would go home and make a ton of applesauce together. Of course there would also be a few delicious apple pies made. Great memories and great scrapbook pages!
It’s hard to believe but these cards are almost exactly the same size. One is American sized and the other European A4 size, so a little longer and narrower. Which one do you like better? You can see the video tutorial here.
Matchbook Treat Holders
Looking for a super simple treat holder? This matchbook treat holder is so easy but so very cute. I used the Hello Harvest bundle to make them and the Rustic Harvest paper.
This is what it looks like in the inside:
Distressed Gold Season Of Chic Card
My last fall creation has more subdued and antique looking colours. I am curious to hear what you think about this one.
If you purchase the Season Of Chic bundle then you are in for a treat! I am going to give you a 13 project tutorial bundle and each of the cards features this Season of Chic stamp set. How awesome is that?? You can see the video for this card here. I hope that you discover my YouTube channel and subscribe. It is one of the main ways that I now teach my people the art of card making!
Thanks!
Thanks so much for joining me today, I am thankful for YOU. I hope that you choose me as your demonstrator and if that is not possible, please support me by purchasing my awesome tutorials. You can find them on my blog as well, or just click here for some instant gratification. I hope you have a fantastic weekend. The links to my online store can be found below.
Hello stampers and happy Monday. Right before I left Holland I got happy mail with Gorgeous Leaves. I was so happy! Crazy thing is, I was just thinking, this is the first time I have been in Holland where I didn’t get any happy mail. Thanks to Bianca Rebel for this beautiful card. Let’s take a look at it shall we?
Gorgeous Leaves Happy Mail
Bianca used a stitched rectangle 3 1/8″ by 3 1/2″. This was matted on a piece of Old Olive cardstock 3 3/8″ by 3 3/4″. I just love the colours she used. That touch of Highland Heather is perfect and I wouldn’t have thought of it myself.
I thought I had written another blog post about this stamp set but it appears that is not the case. It is true that I did make another card and a tag with this set but it never made it into a blog post! Go figure, crazy squirrel. Let’s see if I at least have a photo of it.
Home Again!
This part was written late Friday evening but then my youngest daughter Rachel arrived home and I decided family time was more important and this blog post could wait.
(I just got home late this afternoon after spending a night at my parents’ place. It was so wonderful to see their joy at my return. Both of them were upbeat and I felt so blessed. The drive home was also sublime as the fall colours were still surprisingly vibrant this late in October. I thought this post was fitting! Gorgeous Leaves really is a lovely bundle and a great addition to any stampers stash. Have a super weekend and thanks for joining me today!)
And Now It’s Monday!
I don’t know about you, but far too often you hear stories about people dying suddenly and far too young. This serves as a reminder to really make your days and your time count. Enjoy your loved ones, savour and treasure their company. Indulge in the hobby that makes your heart sing. Send that card or buy that small gift that you know will surprise and delight someone. Sponsor a kit for a healthcare worker or teacher and restore their faith in the world. It really is the little things that matter so much.
I am looking out of my window as I am writing this blog post and I am enjoying the colourful leaves that brighten this cold and rainy day. My cup of tea is going to taste that much better and it is going to warm my hands and my heart. Thank YOU for stopping by today and reading my words.
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am sharing two cards that use the stamp set Life Is Beautiful. Rather fitting since we just celebrated a beautiful wedding on Saturday with my son Oliver and his wife Laura. I will share a few pictures at the end of this post!
Life Is Beautiful
This stamp set was inspired by Million Sales Achiever LeeAnn Greff and it is perfect for all seasons really. Take a look!
Here are some card samples from the Holiday catalog. Don’t forget, the catalog is also a great idea book!
Alison’s Cards
My team member Alison Reid made these two cards for me. Truthfully, I didn’t think I needed this stamp set, but after seeing Alison’s card I have changed my mind!
I love the pop of red in this card. Wouldn’t this cheer you up on a winter day? It’s even great for Valentine’s Day for someone who doesn’t like anything too mushy.
I love this card too! It was cased from Amy Koenders and you can see her original card here complete with instructions of how to make it as well as the card sketch she used.
Wedding Pictures
I know you would love to see just a few shots of the wedding, so here you go. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and the greatest blessing was that my parents could be there for the whole thing! What a gift.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for joining me again today. I love reading your comments and also the “silent footprints” that I can see in my dashboard statistics. If you want to know how you can support my business be sure to read my blog post from Friday. If you live in Canada of course you can shop online with me, and that always makes me very happy too. I hope you have a super day!
Hello stampers and happy Friday to you! Today I am sharing a fun card with you: Gilded Autumn Wish For Everything. Why the long name? Well, the paper is called Gilded Autumn and the stamp set is A Wish for Everything. This card is a result of a card sketch challenge which I will share the sketch so you can play along too if you want!
Gilded Autumn
Gilded Autumn is the name of the beautiful paper in the suite with the same name. This paper is so, so beautiful with its earth tones and a pop of gold and copper foil on some of the paper.
Here you can see this pretty paper used on some great projects in the Holiday Catalog.
A Wish For Everything Thanksgiving Card
A Wish For Everything is a huge stamp set that covers almost every occasion. It comes with coordinating dies as well and it a very popular choice to put in your starter kit. Did you know that you pay no shipping or tax when you get the starter kit? The dies are called Word Wishes and are found on page 183 of the annual catalog. Here is my card.
Not only is the paper in this suite gorgeous, so are the accessories! In this next picture you will get a good look at the pretty acorn trinkets. You can also see that I layered the Thanksgiving die cut with pool party and early espresso to create a shadow effect. I also wanted it to show up in contrast to the patterned paper. The other neat detail to take note of is the ribbon. Yes, it curls!!! Not crazy curls like wrapping paper ribbon, but classy curves to keep people guessing how you did that!

Thanks!
Thanks for joining me today. Here is the card sketch (I almost forgot!!) I would love it so much if you would leave a comment. It has been a while since I saw any comments so I am in need of a little feedback from you my loyal readers. I will send this card to one lucky person who comments on this post. A winner will be chosen on Monday at 9am.
I hope you have a super day. See you on Monday. I have a very fun announcement that I think you are going to LOVE!
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am sharing the Love of Leaves and Stitched Leaves Dies with you. How perfect for this time of year? The leaves on the tree in my front yard are just starting to change. We have already had our first frost, so we are in for an early fall I think. For this blog post I have combined the Love of Leaves Bundle with the Plaid Tidings paper.
Love of Leaves and Plaid Tidings
This simple pop-up card was inspired by a video I just happened to catch on a Facebook live by Ronda Wade. I thought the simple pop-up mechanism was genius and can’t believe I have never done it before. That changes today! You are going to love this technique too. I will be making this card and a few others on my weekly Facebook live video on my new Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper group. Here is my card:
Inside of Love of Leaves Pop-Up Card
Here you can see the inside of this great card. Don’t you just love the colour combination of Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock and Early Espresso? I think I would like a shirt in this plaid.
Here you can see an even closer view of the leaf popped up.
Here is the simple mechanism for the pop-up feature in this card. Simple cut two snips 1/2″ apart, 3/4″ deep along the centrefold of the card.
Push the snipped section into the centre of the card. Add some Stampin’ Seal to the left hand side of the “bump out” section. Attach the leaf to this so that when the card is closed it lays flat inside the card, but when the card opens, it pops up!
Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper
In response to the COVID situation I have been looking for ways to keep my business viable and I have come up with this great new private Facebook group. If you enjoy the longer tutorial videos where I make the cards from start to finish with all the tips and tricks you need to be successful, then this group is for you. It is only ten dollars a month which is approximately the cost of a cup of coffee per week! Besides the weekly live videos on Thursdays at 3pm, you also get a monthly 16 project pdf tutorial AND a weekly draw. As one of my followers said, it is also a great safe place to interact with other stampers. I hope you join! The first draw happens at ten am today.
If you want to join Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper just click on this link and follow the instructions. This group is a free perk for my team members, another great reason to get the amazing deal on the starter kit before the end of September. Read more about it here.
Thanks!
I am so happy that you stopped by today. Enjoy the fall weather and happy stamping too. Have a super day!
