Quilt Block Snow Wonder

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today’s card is a quilt block Snow Wonder card by Sue Macdonald from New Brunswick. I am loving this Happy Mail in Holland contest. Both Gerard and I love checking the mailbox for happy mail. This is the last card right now so I am hoping for happy mail today or tomorrow. My time here is slipping away!

Sue Macdonald’s Quilt Block Snow Wonder Card

Wow, that is a mouthful! Sue participated in my Cozy Christmas Online Retreat and the featured bundle was Snow Wonder. She must have sent this card right after the event because she says in her wonderful letter:  I’m still in stampin’ mode from the weekend! My room is sadly a mess but I’m so pleased with the creations standing around. John’s impressed and suggested we stand the cards up throughout the house and NOT send any.” This makes me so very happy. It wonderful when family members and especially husbands appreciate our handiwork.

Sue used pearls to accentuate the eyes and buttons on the snowman and this gives him or her a totally different look. It just goes to show you that this snowman doesn’t have to be vintage!

Taking the Party Inside

Sue took the party inside by really stamping and decorating it beautifully. In fact, she writes that the inside of the card took her almost as long as the outside. The love was also shown to the envelope!!

Happy Mail Envelope

When you stamp on your envelope you can be sure that your recipient knows for sure that this is indeed happy mail!! What fun.

Not only did Sue stamp the outside of the envelope she also hand-lettered my name and address. I am really feeling the love with all these special

Moncton, New Brunswick

Sue comes from Moncton, New Brunswick. I spent a few hours there many years ago, so I know that I didn’t do this city justice at all. The city is named after a British officer but due to a clerical error it was misspelled. The officer’s name was Robert Monckton. Throughout history the city has had different names, all of them to do with the fact that it is situated at a distinct bend in the Petitcodiac river. Moncton has the distinct honour of being the first officially bilingual city in Canada, a fact that I was not aware of. If you want to read more about Moncton, you can check out my blog post here.

Snowman Treat Holders

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I have some fun Snowman Treat Holders for you. Those of you who know me also know that I almost never make treat holder kind of things. Truth be told, I have always been a little afraid of making 3-D things. I don’t consider myself a logical person, so I shy away from lots of folding and cutting and visualizing. It’s probably true with this as with so many other things that practice makes perfect.

Snowman Treat Holders

Chocolate Bar all dressed up

I think what really converted me to treat holders is that it can turn a rather simple thing into a very heartfelt and thoughtful gift. The way I made this it is also totally regiftable, just like a gift bag. That makes me especially happy. The recipient of my gift can also pay it forward now, even if they are not a paper crafter!

Pretty and Functional

The way the ribbon is tied around the chocolate bar makes it easy to take out of the package AND it looks great when it is still in the package. Don’t you love it when something is both pretty and functional?

My First Ever Box Design

I have to say that I am quite proud of the box that I designed. It was created completely without any help, just me playing with my ruler and my paper trimmer till I got it right. This might be the beginning of a new adventure.

I did a complete video tutorial of both of these projects in my private Facebook Group, Prime Time with the Pampered Stamper. This is my unique response to COVID and the fact that I can no longer offer in person classes. It is a great place to gather with stampers and teach, share and inspire. Of course there are also weekly Prize Patrol giveaways and a monthly free pdf tutorial with 16 projects. If you want to join, you CAN!! Click here and follow the steps.

Box designed by The Pampered Stamper

I actually used a retired die from Blended Seasons bundle from a few years ago. The other supplies are Snow Wonder, Warm Hugs, misty moonlight ribbon and Flowers for Every Season twine as well as the cellophane gift bags from the holiday catalog.

What do you think? I would love to read your comments and find out whether or not you like making little boxes and treat holders.

Free Tutorial

If you live in Canada and order the Snow Wonder bundle from me using the host code then I will send YOU a free pdf tutorial with ten great cards and a home decor item.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for joining me. I look forward to sharing my inspiration with you again on Monday. Hugs!

Slimline Bridge Fold Card

Not only is this a very fun fold, it also have some great techniques involved. My favourite one is making a “reverse” snowman and the other is in getting the trees to really pop with the embossing folder. This card fits into a regular business sized envelope. If you want to see the sketch of how to make this card you can find it in this blog post.

Hello stampers and happy Tuesday to you.  I am SO very excited to announce my first ever Cozy Christmas Online Retreat. It will be so wonderful for you to receive a box full of products that will enable you to gather with other stampers and craft together. Do you want to hear more about it?

How the Online Retreat Will Work

The date for the retreat is Friday November 13 and Saturday November 14. You need to pre-register by October 16 to give me enough time to order the supplies, prep all the projects and send them to you in good time. The cost is $160 but will include at least $120 in product plus all the supplies needed to create the projects. Definitely included in your box of goodies is the Snow Wonder bundle and the Evergreen Forest and Winter Snow embossing folders. If you already have the Snow Wonder bundle you can substitute another bundle and just pay the difference if there is any.

Retreat Schedule

Friday night, 7-9pm We will play a mini Bingo game with three games and three prizes. I will have a creative challenge, one with a colour combo and one with a sketch and they will be sent to you one week before the event. You can participate in one or both and you will have a chance to win a prize. Photos of your cards can be sent to me and I will create an album for each challenge and everyone can vote which card they like the best. The person with the most votes will win a prize.

We will also have a cut, colour and chat session on Friday night. Many snowmen will have to be stamped, coloured and cut to prepare for card making the following day. Why not do this together and have a nice chin wag while we’re at it?

Saturday morning from ten till noon will be the optional add on class featuring the Coming Home Bundle. If you choose to participate in this class you will get the bundle for $63, no shipping or tax AND you will get to make four great cards with me using this awesome set. Card kit included in your goodie box, so instant gratification, no measuring and cutting, just stamping and assembling.

Saturday afternoon from 1pm till 3pm we will make five cards and the home decor project. Saturday evening from 7pm till 9pm we will make the last five cards.

The Clock is Ticking

When you do an online retreat time can get tight. First I have to order the supplies, then I have to kit up all the projects and get them sent to you on time. Usually I should have allowed more time for this, but I have to take into account that I will hopefully to flying back to Holland the week of November 19th, so I had to do the retreat the week before. That being said, you need to register by October 17.  That date is fast approaching!!

How to Pay

Your payment is your registration. Etransfer is preferred but PayPal is also accepted as are cheques and cash. If you have any questions, please let me know. This event will be by Zoom only.
