Hello stampers and happy Tuesday to you. Today I am showing the love with Heartfelt. I really do love Valentine’s Day and I have always done a Valentine’s Day party for my kids. The table would be set with pretty dishes and fresh flowers and of course I would make heart shaped cookies and cupcakes. At each place setting there would also be a cute little bag full of Valentine’s treats. It’s important to show your love to those around you and make them feel special.
Heartfelt Card
Stampin’Up! always has at least one luscious Valentine’s Day set, and lately they have a whole suite of products that make it super easy to make beautiful cards and gifts. Did you know that heart shaped tins are perfectly suited to making mini brownies or cupcakes? I think I will do this for the kids and grandkids this weekend. We made this Heartfelt card at coffee and a card this morning.
The From My Heart specialty designer series paper makes it super easy to make a beautifully coordinated card. I have to say, I’m really appreciated the heart punch pack too. Framelits and dies are great, but punches are quick and easy! Do you see the adorable cupid’s arrow behind the hearts? Love how the silver embossed arrow coordinates with the silver edged satin ribbon.
The striped piece is 1 1/2″ by 4 3/4″ and the heart piece is 2 1/2″ by 4 3/4″. The hearts cover up the “seam”.
If this makes you sad because you don’t have time to get this in time for your Valentine’s celebration, don’t stress. These beautiful heart inspired cards would be welcome any time of the year. I have a tradition for my coffee and a card class as well. On the class closest to Valentine’s Day there are very special treats. This year I finally baked linzer cookies. These cookies are a classic at high end bakeries and for good reason. They are beautiful works of art that taste as good as they look. I really enjoyed making them and look forward to a new tradition. The recipe is from Canadian baker Anna Olsen.

Share the Love
While I am a big fan of Valentine’s Day that doesn’t mean that all was well in the land of romance for me. Perhaps that is why I put the focus on the kids. Either way, no matter where you are in life and what the state of your heart is, Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to spread kindness. Paper Pumpkin is amazing for that. Paper Pumpkin makes it easy to make super cute things and share them with lots of people. You would be amazed to see the transformation on an adult’s face when they receive a random Valentine’s surprise. I love putting as many as possible in a large purse and handing them out at the grocery store to stressed out moms, lonely old people or overworked and underpaid clerks and tellers.

Hello stampers and happy Thursday. Today I am sharing with you my Floating Heart Card that I made for the Design Dream Team Tutorial. If you order from me in February you will get this sixteen project tutorial for free! I made this card while in Holland and had to make do with what I had. Ideally you would use rectangle stitched framelits for the opening, but I had to use a square die twice instead.

I promise that I will do a video on how to make this card when I am back home in my studio. As you are reading this I am probably having coffee with my parents. It will be so, so good to see Mom and Pap after a seven week absence, especially with how sick Pap has been. He is slowly improving, but this shingles disease has really knocked the starch out of him.
Here you can see the card open with the floating heart in the middle. I must admit, I was pleased as punch with this design as it was entirely my own idea and it came together so quickly in the first try!
Facebook Live Next Week
Just a heads up that my Facebook live videos will once again be at 7pmEST now that I am back in Canada. We’ll see how well this time does for me. Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. While you are reading this, I am on the way to Schiphol, the airport in Amsterdam. I thought it would be appropriate to blog about a Valentine’s card today, so here is my Heartfelt Teepee card. This trip was all about love and my heart is indeed full. I am blessed.
Heartfelt Teepee Card
This was actually the first teepee card that I made and it feels like I have already blogged about it. I did use this photo for advertising a Valentine’s Day class that I am doing when I get back, but I have not featured it in a blog, so here we go! I also made it during a Facebook live video. What happened is that happy mail kept arriving, so I blogged about that instead.
It’s super easy to change the look of the card by choosing different patterned paper.

It really is so much easier to learn how to do things when you watch a video don’t you think? Here is a picture of how the folded pieces go together, but then do be sure to watch the video for more information. If you are feeling alone, unloved or unhappy I just want to encourage you that you are never too old and it is never too late to find true love. Trust your heart, be courageous and fight for love! Relationships can drift apart, people change, but do everything in your power to reconnect with the one you fell in love. If all has been tried and there is no result, then you know you have not left a stone unturned. I am so very thankful for the people in my life who encouraged me on my journey. I am loved, I am blessed and I am so very, very thankful.

Valentine’s Day Cards for our troops
Even though Canadians are known for their peace keeping efforts, we have a lot of troops overseas. It can be very difficult to be far away from loved ones, especially on days like Valentine’s Day. If you want to brighten the day of some soldiers, then you can send your card or cards to Stampin’Up! Canada and they will send them to our army bases abroad. You need to act fast!

Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Card
I thought it was time for me to feature a card that I made myself! When I heard about this Valentine’s Card for the Canadian troops project, I decided to make a card too. Even though it says friend, I think that is ok, everyone is someone’s friend and if a soldier is overseas defending my freedom or promoting peace I consider them a friend. Be sure to take the opportunity to write something heartfelt in your card. Believe me, happy mail is powerful!
This card actually uses the left over pieces from the card that I made for the February Demo Design Dream team tutorial. The hearts in the first picture inspired this card since I liked how they looked on this barnboard paper. This paper is left over from the holiday mini from a fall collection that I can’t remember the name of now! Here’s the inside that I like as much as the outside!! Happy mail in Holland has taught me to pay attention to all aspects of the card.
Happy Mail in Holland Contest
Your happy mail cards keep arriving and making my heart happy. I was planning on featuring two of these cards today but I really needed to post about the Valentine’s Day cards for the Canadian troops as well, so I am only going to feature one card today. This gorgeous card comes all the way from Newfoundland, Canada. Maureen Power is the artist and she lives in Goulds, Newfoundland. It is a neighbourhood of the bigger city of St John’s which is the capital city of the province. I really do hope to visit there some time this decade.

Maureen used the beautiful Most Wonderful Time Product Medley for this card as well as copper foil paper and a gorgeous framelit from the holiday mini that I do not own. I don’t have a catalog with me so I don’t remember the name of it. You will need to help me out with this! Here is another angle so you can see all the lovely details.
The envelope also made me smile with all these cheerful critters. I couldn’t decide if they were baby groundhogs, baby squirrels or baby seals. It makes me feel a little silly admitting this to you, but maybe you can help me out here too.
Tomorrow is Saturday but I have a feeling that there could be another blog post so that I can keep up with all the happy mail. What a great “problem” to have. Your Canadian squirrel is smiling. Now I am going to go out on a date with my handsome Dutchman. Have a super day!!
Hello stampers. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and this fun and innovative stamp set with coordinating framelits is just awesome for both kids and grownups. It is great for mushy cards but also for fun or serious cards. I love how the framelits can be used for both cutting out puzzle pieces or for creating an embossed focal point. The very best part is that it is quick and easy. This product makes it look like you really slaved over making a super special card, so whoever receives one from you will really be feeling the love. Only you know how much fun you had making it and how easy it really was. I went online for inspiration and all but one of these cards was cased from other talented demonstrators. The first one was from Tami White.
I love how all Stampin’Up! products coordinate. If you really want to look “put together” then limit yourself to one suite at a time when you are purchasing instead of dabbling with several suites at a time. The All My Love ribbon is the perfect accent to this card. Now just to be contradictory, you can mix and match. The negative piece from the light pink heart is from the Tropical Escape paper from the annual catalog. Thanks to Tami White for the inspiration, I might not have thought of that! I could have used the epoxy heart droplets in the suite but I just noticed them now. You know what? This photo is a little out of focus, so I am going to add a droplet and take another picture just to make up for it!! I have been known to be impulsive, so why not live up to my reputation?
The next card is just so colourful and it makes me so happy. This one was originally created by Laura Vanverloh. She made it for an autism awareness event with is a perfect fit! I changed up the background by using Touches of Texture as well as the little hearts from Love You to Pieces.
This next card combines Grey Granite with Night of Navy for a perfect masculine card. Thanks to Jackier Beers for this clean and crisp design.
I really love the next card as Lori Wilcox was really thinking outside of the box. She used the High Tide set to create a beach scene which was then cut using the puzzle framelits. One piece was taken out to make a cute statement. A simple trick with this card is to put adhesive on the back before taking them out of the framelits. Flip it over, framelit and all and press onto your cardstock mat. Then pop the pieces out and they will stick to the mat without you having to align them all.

The last card was my own creation and I made it because I wanted to show my customers that this puzzle stamp had a good use. You see, it doesn’t fit with the puzzle framelit and we found that a little annoying. I then suggested that it could be used to stamp a background. So I tried it this afternoon and I loved how it turned out. This bright card also uses the rectangle stitched framelits. They are easy to adapt to different sizes as well. Tomorrow I will do a video on that and include it in this post.
A clean and simple card…the inside is pretty cute too. I used Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch and Lovely Lipstick for the puzzle piece background. Do you know what these colours all have in common? They are all this year’s “In Colours”. The only one missing is Grapefruit Grove. I cut out one “puzzle” from each of the colours mentioned and then I keep the leftovers in a small Ziploc bag inside the stamp case. That makes it super easy to add some of these colourful puzzle pieces to any card. I really loved playing with this set, it brought out my inner child and the bright colours were so cheerful on this cold winter day.

Hello stampers. It is still January, but I have learned from experience that now is the time to start getting ready for Valentine’s Day, and Sure Do Love You will help you do that in great style! If you have cards that need mailing or if you need to make a lot of them for your child’s class, then you need a little more time to prepare. I used to do a Valentine’s tea party when the kids were all still home and that was such a lovely tradition. It was so nice to set a pretty table and buy them all special treats and to sit around the table to show them how much they were loved. This Painted with Love suite will help you set a very pretty table indeed. I might just have to theme my coffee and a card class that week for Valentine’s Day.
This is such a beautiful suite. The paper is richly coloured and textured, so much so that you want to touch the brush strokes they look so real. Valentine’s Day is so much more than just giving a card to your sweetheart. I like to use this day to show everyone that they are special and that they are loved. So many people now suffer from anxiety and depression and a small act of kindness can go a long ways. I know that I will use the leftover paper to make pretty cards with the narrow note cards and envelopes and then some Ghiradelli chocolate treat holders which are always popular or some homemade cookies to give to random people that I will meet on my errands on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t take much to make the world a better place.
The paper in the Painted With Love collection is really unique. It has gold foil accents on one side and brushstroke imagery on the other side. We have never had anything like it before and I love every little bit of it. Some of it is so bold and vivid that you only need a little bit of it on a card, so this paper pack will go a long ways!! I am offering a Suite Share with the paper, cardstock and ribbon for only $16. In the share there is a third of a pack of dsp (4″ x12″) 12 sheets of cardstock in calypso coral, melon mambo and powder pink as well as one yard of gold tinsel trim and one yard of pink tinsel trim.
To make this wonky, artsy sentiment I created a pseudo ink pad with a baby wipe. Just fold the baby wipe in four and then add some drops of reinker. I used mainly rich razzleberry and berry burst and then in the spaces between I added powder pink. I put the baby wipe on a silicone mat to protect my table. The other two hearts are cut out of the Painted With Love paper. The background hearts were stamped with versamark on powder pink cardstock. The gold hearts are stickers from the Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers. I popped up the sentiment with dimensionals and behind it I adhered a large bow of powder pink mini tinsel trim. All the coordinating items in this suite make it very easy to make beautiful cards.
After I made my pseudo ink pad with the baby wipe I made lots of solid hearts and also more of these pretty “sentiment” hearts. When I lifted up the baby wipe I noticed that there was a nice puddle of ink on my silicone mat, so I used that as an ink pad to make more multi-coloured hearts. The three colours rich razzleberry, berry burst and powder pink work really well together!
The hearts in the top row were made with a colour wash. I first heat embossed with white embossing powder for the words and then used an aquapainter to quickly swoosh over the words with rich razzleberry, berry burst and powder pink. I had to do it quickly and lightly because I was using regular whisper white cardstock. It worked out perfectly. If you used watercolour paper or shimmer white paper you wouldn’t have to be so careful.
This red and black card uses the paper from the Petal Palette suite as well as the leaf punch and some vellum cardstock. Super simple, super cute. Finish it off with our Silver Baker’s Twine and you have just the right look. I cased this card from Cindee Wilkinson. So nice to get inspiration from other stampers. The paper is actually called Petal Passion and it is also great to use with our new Blends.
By now you may have realized that there are a lot of beautiful things in the Occasions catalog and you want so much but it all adds up so quickly. Have you considered getting the starter kit?
