Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Style with “Sure Do Love You”

Hello stampers. It is still January, but I have learned from experience that now is the time to start getting ready for Valentine’s Day, and Sure Do Love You will help you do that in great style! If you have cards that need mailing or if you need to make a lot of them for your child’s class, then you need a little more time to prepare. I used to do a Valentine’s tea party when the kids were all still home and that was such a lovely tradition. It was so nice to set a pretty table and buy them all special treats and to sit around the table to show them how much they were loved. This Painted with Love suite will help you set a very pretty table indeed. I might just have to theme my coffee and a card class that week for Valentine’s Day.

This is such a beautiful suite. The paper is richly coloured and textured, so much so that you want to touch the brush strokes they look so real. Valentine’s Day is so much more than just giving a card to your sweetheart. I like to use this day to show everyone that they are special and that they are loved. So many people now suffer from anxiety and depression and a small act of kindness can go a long ways.  I know that I will use the leftover paper to make pretty cards with the narrow note cards and envelopes and then some Ghiradelli chocolate treat holders which are always popular or some homemade cookies to give to random people that I will meet on my errands on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t take much to make the world a better place.

Painted with Love designer series paper really makes this Valentine's Day card shine!

The paper in the Painted With Love collection is really unique. It has gold foil accents on one side and brushstroke imagery on the other side. We have never had anything like it before and I love every little bit of it. Some of it is so bold and vivid that you only need a little bit of it on a card, so this paper pack will go a long ways!! I am offering a Suite Share with the paper, cardstock and ribbon for only $16. In the share there is a third of a pack of dsp (4″ x12″) 12 sheets of cardstock in calypso coral, melon mambo and powder pink as well as one yard of gold tinsel trim and one yard of pink tinsel trim.

I used a baby wipe and reinker to create an "ink pad" to make the multi coloured sentiment on this pretty Valentine's Day card.

To make this wonky, artsy sentiment I created a pseudo ink pad with a baby wipe. Just fold the baby wipe in four and then add some drops of reinker. I used mainly rich razzleberry and berry burst and then in the spaces between I added powder pink. I put the baby wipe on a silicone mat to protect my table. The other two hearts are cut out of the Painted With Love paper. The background hearts were stamped with versamark on powder pink cardstock. The gold hearts are stickers from the Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers. I popped up the sentiment with dimensionals and behind it I adhered a large bow of powder pink mini tinsel trim. All the coordinating items in this suite make it very easy to make beautiful cards.

After I made my pseudo ink pad with the baby wipe I made lots of solid hearts and also more of these pretty “sentiment” hearts. When I lifted up the baby wipe I noticed that there was a nice puddle of ink on my silicone mat, so I used that as an ink pad to make more multi-coloured hearts. The three colours rich razzleberry, berry burst and powder pink work really well together!

Funky hearts with baby wipe "ink pad"

The hearts in the top row were made with a colour wash. I first heat embossed with white embossing powder for the words and then used an aquapainter to quickly swoosh over the words with rich razzleberry, berry burst and powder pink. I had to do it quickly and lightly because I was using regular whisper white cardstock. It worked out perfectly. If you used watercolour paper or shimmer white paper you wouldn’t have to be so careful.

This red and black Valentine's Day card combines Sure do Love You with Petal Palette.

This red and black card uses the paper from the Petal Palette suite as well as the leaf punch and some vellum cardstock. Super simple, super cute. Finish it off with our Silver Baker’s Twine and you have just the right look. I cased this card from Cindee Wilkinson. So nice to get inspiration from other stampers. The paper is actually called Petal Passion and it is also great to use with our new Blends.

By now you may have realized that there are a lot of beautiful things in the Occasions catalog and you want so much but it all adds up so quickly. Have you considered getting the starter kit? While this would officially make you a demonstrator, it does NOT mean that you actually have to demonstrate anything to anyone. You can simply get the kit for the great deal that it is and do nothing further. You could also get the kit and then use your 20% discount to get more items in the next 6 months. Or, like some of our most successful demonstrators, you could decide to share what you love with your friends, family and neighbours and start a great business. No matter what you decide, you can take advantage of the amazing deal with no guilt whatsoever. Stampin’Up! gives this offer in the hope that you will get hooked but they realize that most do not. Either way you will have a nice stash of beautiful products for a great deal. Here is the link if you want lots of products for a small price.

So much product, such a small price- you choose what goes in it too

There is another way to get product for free and that is to host a workshop. Right now you can get an extra $35 in hostess products when your workshop gets to $330. I would love to have you and a group of your friends in my stamp room for a workshop or private class. We all need to take some time to have fun in our lives and stamping is a lot of fun!!

I have an extra Paper Pumpkin stamp set and it is looking for a new home! If you comment on this blog post and share in some way, either by pinning one of the images, or sharing a link to this blog on your Facebook page, you will be entered into a draw for this lovely stamp set. Anyone in the world is eligible, how awesome is that?

I love the images in this set. It is even more versatile with three different fonts. It is hard to see the images clearly here so I also stamped them for you.

Heartfelt Love Notes Paper Pumpkin

I made a very simple card using the elements from this Paper Pumpkin which is called Heartfelt Love Notes. Sometimes simplicity is best. What do you think?

Happy stamping, be sure to use your stash to spread a little love and make the world a happier place.

Happy Valentine’s Day with Lift Me Up

Hello stampers! Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and love is in the air! One of my favourite songs is by Josh Groban, You Raise Me Up. That is why Lift Me Up is such a perfect set for Valentine’s Day. It is inspiring, joyful and filled with love. Who doesn’t love the sight of a colourful hot air balloon in the sky? We all think it is quite romantic to go up in the air for a hot air balloon ride. (well, I have to admit, I do have some reservations…what if I have to go to the washroom about half way through? There is no easy answer there.) Take a look:

Valentine's Card using Lift Me Up bundle

The balloon is basic grey and the strips behind are real red, pink pirouette and smoky slate. If you look closely you can see I messed up a little with the adhesive, but I have since put into practice a much better way of adhering intricate die cut pieces. Squeeze some liquid tombow onto the corner of your silicone mat, use a sponge to pat it down and then put the balloon upside down on a clean part of the mat and lightly sponge over it and then put on your solid pieces right away. Works like a charm. Both the silicone mat and the sponge will clean perfectly with a bit of soapy water. The bit of linen thread looks very whimsical holding the heart to the hot air balloon. Add a bit of bling and you are all set!

The Life Me Up bundle is also great for birthdays and it pairs beautifully with our free sale-a-bration paper, Carried Away.

Here the balloon is night of navy and the coloured strips are watermelon wonder, peekaboo peach and soft sky. The white strip is 1″ by 3 3/4″ and the patterned paper is 3 3/4″ x 5″. Navy mat 4″ x 5 1/4″. I love how the navy just makes the bright colours pop.

Use your catalogs as inspiration books! Some of the best ideas are right there, no need to scratch your brain for creativity.

Enamel shapes (formerly known as candy dots, although these are more rounded, the candy dots had a more flattened shape) also make lovely embellishments for the hot air balloons. Did you know that you can also use Sharpies to colour your pearls and rhinestones in case you have no enamel shapes on hand? The middle card is a note card size and for the background it uses the stamp set Timeless Textures (140517, clear mount, set of 9 for $27)

Now the card above clearly does not use Lift Me Up, but it was one of the cards I made for my classes last week so people would be all set for Valentine’s Day a little bit ahead of time. This bundle was so popular it actually went on backorder! The lesson here is that if you really love something, especially if it is for a time sensitive occasion, be sure to order it right away so that you won’t be disappointed. It is kind of like when you are shopping for clothes or shoes. If you really love it, don’t wait, because when you go back it will most likely be gone.

Since we made these cards at my regular Coffee and a Card class, I thought I would share this older video where I explain how coffee and a card works. This is truly my favourite class ever since it has such a relaxed community feel to it.

The last thing I want to share with you is that I am now going to have a new hostess code up each week so that if you want to order online you can do this using the hostess code. Remember, if your order is more than $110, you would be better off getting the starter kit. Why? Because on a $110 order once you add shipping and tax you are paying just over $136. The starter kit is $135, you get to pick out $165 in product AND until the end of March you also get to pick out TWO free stamp sets out of either the annual catalog or the Occasions catalog. There is no shipping or tax in Ontario. In some provinces there is tax. Just click here to get the starter kit. Be sure to have your social insurance number and a credit card handy as well as your wish list of course for the two free stamp sets and $165 worth of product. Please note that you cannot go over this amount even by a penny. You also will get 8 catalogs and 8 Occasions catalogs to hand out to your friends and family. What fun!! I would truly love to have you on my team.

Have a super day, Jackie
