New Horizons Z-Fold Card

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. I am squeezing in a New Horizons -Fold Card yet today. It really is much too late to write a blog at 8pm but I haven’t blogged in almost a week and I know I will feel much better if I get one written today. This card is simple yet stunning. I hope you will agree.

New Horizons Z-Fold Card

I made this New Horizons Z-Fold card this morning for my weekly Cheer Corner video. The New Horizons paper is simply stunning and it doesn’t need much extra to turn into a beautiful card. I decided to add some stamps from the Grassy Grove stamp set. Of course you could really step it up with die cuts and embellishments and I am sure I will do just that on another day. Let’s take a look.

New Horizons Z-Fold Card

If you want to see how easy it is to make this card, just watch this short video. The card is 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″. Trim your New Horizons paper to 5 3/8″ and then cut at 2″ and 4″. Add a strip of basic white that is 2″ by 5 3/8″ and you are all set!

Altered Z-Fold Card

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I have another beautiful happy mail in Holland contest card for you and it is an altered Z-fold card. Thanks to Chris Margie for this card and for the instructions on how to make it. That is always appreciated! What I really loved is that she was inspired by the same person that I was for this type of card:  Rachel Tessman. You can check out my blog post here for my card last year.

Altered Z-Fold Card

Chris used the beautiful Feels Like Frost paper that was such a huge hit that it sold out last year. I think that is the first time our paper ever sold out! This time it is hidden on page 42 and it really doesn’t stand out at all. It has been combined with a cutesy stamp set that really doesn’t suit this paper at all. Trust me, you WANT this paper.  Just click on that link and you will be able to see each sheet of paper in this amazing collection. Let’s take a look at Chris’ lovely card and then I will explain a little bit more about it.

Feels Like Frost Altered Z-Fold card

Here is a closeup of the inside detail of this gorgeous altered z-fold card. Chris used the stitched shape dies for her sentiment. Here are the instructions that she shared for trimming the paper. Chris trims off 3/8″ from the top and then cuts the 6″ piece into three sections to create the panels. I measured them for you so you don’t have to guess! 2 5/8″, 1 1/4″ and 2 1/8″. The card is of course from Europe so they use A4 cardstock which is slightly narrower and longer than ours in North America. It is aprroximately 8 1/4″ by 5 7/8″ scored at 4 1/8″ and at a hair less than 1 1/4″. The front panel has the dsp adhered to only one half so that the other half extends past to create a full card front and to use more of the pretty paper.

Altered Z-Fold inside

Chris added a special detail to her card. She used one of our narrow embossing folder to emboss the middle section of this card as well as the flap of her envelope. It really is all about the details isn’t it? So pretty.

Feels Like Frost Paper

Photographic imagery on one side of the paper and hand drawn designs with silver foil on the other side, this paper is truly magnificent. I took a screen shot of it, but like I said earlier in the post, if you go the website you can scroll through and see each piece individually.

Barnstaple, Devon

British addresses always fascinate me. They seem so complicated and I am never sure what all the names mean. I am trying to discover the meaning of West Yelland as Barnstaple is the city and the line before that is the street address, so I am guessing that West Yelland might be a suburb or a district? Either way, it would seem that Barnstaple is definitely a place that I would like to visit. Take a look at a few images I found of the area. I do love these whimisical maps!

Devon, England

It looks like there is a lot to see and do in this part of England. The next “map” will show that to be true. Would you like to go on a little trip with me to visit Chris?

Map of Devon

It looks like it will be a lovely 3 hour and 38 minute drive from this part of the world to the capital city of London, England. Or we could hop on the train for just over two hours. Before we leave we will be sure to visit the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon.

Wrapped in Christmas

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today’s card features a saying from Wrapped in Christmas but the focus is really the very fun Trimming the Town paper. This card was a result of the leftovers from the card I made on last Friday’s blog post.

Wrapped In Christmas

Wrapped in Christmas is a beautiful 10 piece cling stamp set with all Christmas sayings that is part of the Heartwarming Hugs suite. I love how this particular saying is long and narrow with a nice bold “JOY”. It really fits the mood of this card.

Z-Fold Card

I thought that a Z-Fold Card would be the perfect way to showcase this mountain paper with the skaters on the pond. The house is perched right on the fold and I used a pretty neat trick to make it work. Simply fold a punched circle in half. Adhere one half to the card with the straight edge of the fold along the fold of the card. Put adhesive on the other half of the circle and adhere to the house die cut.

Wrapped in Christmas -Fold Card

The measurements for this card are base:  5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″. The patterned paper is 5 3/8″ by 2″ with a red strip of patterned paper tucked in behind the last panel. That strip was 5/8″ by 5 3/8″.

The New Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

On Friday I will blog about this awesome new machine. To say that I am in love with it is an understatement. Today the magnetic plate came in and I am super impressed with all the thought that went into it. I just want to leave you with this thought. The starter kit is a super special deal right now and you could just put this machine into it. No tax, no shipping AND two bonus stamp sets, a package of rhinestones and 16 card kits PLUS a coupon for a FREE Paper Pumpkin. What are you waiting for? Here is the link to get yours today. Only catch? You have to be a Canadian to join with me. You do not need a host code, so click “no” to that question.

Thanks!

Thanks for joining me today, I appreciate it when you stop by and read my posts. We had a great first video on my Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper today. Z-Fold Card with Peaceful Poppies

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday. Today I have a simple Z-Fold card for you using the Peaceful Poppies paper and Peaceful Moments bundle. I find that a z-fold card is a great way to showcase two coordinating or contrasting patterned papers. The one I chose today is actually included in the free paper pack that you get when you get the starter kit with Stampin’Up! This is one sheet of paper, it has stripes on one side and a watercolour poppy design on the other side.

Z-Fold Card

Z-Fold card using Peaceful Poppies

I love the fresh colours of this paper and you can never go wrong with stripes and a floral together! The poppy on the sentiment is from the Peaceful Poppies elements. It is a watercolour paper die cut with embossing already on it, all you have to do is give it a watercolour wash with your aqua painter and some ink.

z-fold card open

The label for the sentiment is used twice, once on the Z-fold panel and once again inside the card. I left the inside one blank so I could write something personal there. This saying is meant to be paired with the “With Deepest Sympathy” saying but I felt that it could be used on its own for a simple thinking of you card. There is a family in my hometown right now whose daughter was involved in an industrial accident. She will most likely be paralyzed from the chest down unless a miracle happens. It is already a miracle that she survived. How horrific for this twenty year old and her parents! This card will be for them.

top view of this z-fold card

Here you can see the top view of the z-fold card. It measures 4 1/4″ by 11″ and it is scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. It is a super simple fold but so effective for showing off your beautiful paper. If you would like to see another example of a Z-Fold card, check out this blog post.

When You Want the Best Deal Ever

Imagine for a moment that you really love this Peaceful Poppy suite. How could you get it for the least amount of money? Put it in a starter kit. If you get both bundles, that is two stamp sets and two sets of framelits, add to that the Peaceful Poppies elements and the Poppy Parade ink pad. You will then have $4 left over. If you go the clearance rack there are about ten choices for that price point, but I would suggest the real red solid ribbon here. In your kit you will get the assorted patterned paper collection which includes the peaceful poppies paper used on this card. You will only pay $135 for all of this. If you would put it on a normal order in Ontario your total would be $204.85.

It gets better. You also get a free mini paper trimmer which is absolutely adorable and perfect for using up your little bits of paper and cardstock for banners and sayings. Lastly, you get to choose one extra stamp set of your choice from either the mini or the annual catalog. Why not pick a great expensive one? May I suggest  Well Said, a set with 51 cling stamps with lots and lots of different sayings? It is worth $61. Another great choice is Rooted In Nature which is $57.

After getting this amazing deal where you save all the shipping and tax AND get free stuff, you now will also get your very own discount of 20% on every order you place. You will keep this discount until the end of June no matter what. Did I mention that you also get a free Paper Pumpkin in your starter kit? I just had to tell the story about this amazing deal.
