Coming Home Bird House Card

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Last week I realized that I had totally forgotten to blog about this beautiful Coming Home Bird House Card. I am thrilled to share it with you today.

The Story Behind the Card

This card is not my original work. Not at all. I saw this card on a Facebook group called the Demonstrator Planning Place and it was getting a lot of attention. No wonder. It is a fantastic card and I love everything about it. This card was made and designed by a German demonstrator named Jana Müller.  Here is Jana’s blog.  I watched her video tutorial but of course it was in German, so I thought it would be a good idea to make and share this card myself. Here it is:

I did make a video tutorial on this card and it is posted in my Prime Time With the Pampered Stamper group. If you want to join this private group, that would be awesome. You can read all about it here.

Close-Up View and Special Trick

Here is a close up view of this great card. There is are three simple tricks that make this card stand out.

  1. Create “berries” for the branches from the Gorgeous Posies stamp with a cajun craze marker.
  2. Make  little background “stipples” by flicking the tip of your sahara sand marker against the inside of the marker lid.
  3. Add a spritz of white dots to the background using your Water Painter, a few drops of whisper white craft reinker and a bit of water from the Water Painter and flick over your card. Be careful not to smear afterwards as this white craft ink takes a while to dry.

The Little Details

Here is one more picture that show some details in this card. Dimensionals make all the difference as does the addition of white craft ink. The leaves were punched out using the Autumn Punch pack and then they were colour washed with white craft ink and a water painter. I used a white gel pen (contraband because Stampin’Up! no longer carries one) to make hearts on the little birdhouse hearts.  That cute little bird comes from the stamp set Free as a Bird and the “greenery” is from the Sunflowers dies.

There’s more! Do you see the little “droplets”? They are  from the Frosted & Clear epoxy droplets in the annual catalog on page 156. If you want them to be a bit smaller you could also use the Flowers for Every Season gems on page 158. That cute striped paper? It’s from Gilded Autumn, but it is backordered until the end of November. Be sure to order it then because it’s awesome!!

Brightly Gleaming Christmas Card

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today’s card is a Brightly Gleaming Christmas Card. It is actually a beautiful card that I made last year. It was in my stash of Christmas stamps from last year’s holiday catalog. Brightly Gleaming is actually a carry over stamp set that was so popular last year that both the stamp set and the patterned paper sold out.

 A Question for You

I am curious. For some reason I never go back to a stamp set that has carried over from the year before. Does that make me fickle? Do you have the same thing? For me I play with a stamp set a lot, I use all the patterned paper and then I am done with it. Maybe it is different when you are a demonstrator and you want to showcase new products to get people excited. I decided it was time for me to show you this forgotten stamp set because it really is lovely. My favourite stamp in this set is the gorgeous holly leaves and berries. Take a look.

Brightly Gleaming Christmas Card

Here is my brightly gleaming Christmas card. It does use copper foil paper which is now retired but everything else on this card is current. The beautiful brushed metallic cardstock would look fantastic on this card so don’t worry, you can still recreate this beauty.

Brightly Gleaming Christmas card

The holly berries and leaves are perfect for colouring with Blends. I used Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler as well as a bit of Wink of Stella on the berries. If you want to see more cards made with this bundle check out this blog post.

Thank-you Present for 15th Anniversary

Thanks for joining me today. I was hoping to write a longer post about my fifteenth anniversary as a Stampin’Up! demonstrator but this has been a crazy week with so much happening and I simply ran out of time. What I would like to say though is THANK YOU!! Without you there would be no stamping journey for me. As a thank you I am giving away the Press On stamp set with a $100 online order. The stamp set is worth $30, and with shipping and tax that comes to $36.90. You must use the host code 7ABPXNFB. This offer will go until November 5.

Have a super day!

Gold Embossed Vintage Tree

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I am sharing with you a gold embossed vintage tree card that was inspired by Joanne French, a fellow demonstrator from Ontario. She did a Facebook live video showing different things she had done with the Tag Buffet kit and this card was one of them. I think you will agree that it is beautiful even though I forgot to add the gold pearl embellishments.

Gold Embossed Vintage Tree Card

Joanne shared that the Tag Buffet kit comes with five extra tree die cuts, so that is perfect for making cards like this while still being able to make all thirty tags in the kit. I started by inking up my Tin Tile embossing folder with versamark. After running it through the die cutting machine with soft sea foam cardstock I embossed with gold embossing powder. Take a look!

Gilt Edging

Do you see the edges of my stitched rectangles? It looks like gild edging doesn’t it? Do you know how I did that? Simply run your versamark pad along the edges of your cardstock and then pour on some gold embossing powder. Heat set with your embossing tool. The sentiment was also embossed in gold and it comes from the stamp set Positive Thoughts. Isn’t it a great idea to use a Christmas product for a thinking of you card? Joanne had embellished her card with some gold pearls but I forgot and it still looks nice.

Double Embossed Gold Tree Card

For this card I used two embossing folders and the same technique of inking up the folder with versamark before embossing the cardstock. I used Tin Tile for the inside piece and the Subtle embossing folder for the frame. The little star on top of the tree is from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley refill kit. Both the gold twine and the sentiment are from the Tag Buffet Project Kit and stamp set.

Tag Buffet Project Kit

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Have you seen the Tag Buffet Project Kit in the holiday catalog? Tags are a great way to personalize your gifts and make them even more special. Sometimes we run out of time to do this, so this kit is perfect for busy people. It looks very fancy but they are very simple to make. You can choose to follow the instructions or you can do your own thing. Let’s take a look as what you get.

Tag Buffet Project Kit

This kit comes with a whopping thirty tags. The tags are double layered, so if you choose to separate them you can make even more. These tags are also a very good size, approximately 3″ by 4″ so they will also look good on big presents or you can use them on a card in such a way that the person could remove the tag and then use it themselves. How much fun is that?

Tag Buffet kit from Stampin'Up!

I forgot to mention that the tags come in a very pretty and sturdy box. You could keep the box for yourself or you could gift your pretty tags to someone in this box. So many options!

Thinking Outside the Box

There are so many tags included in this lovely kit that you could also think outside the box and use the elements for other projects. Last week I was inspired by fellow demonstrator Joanne French who had designed this card. I recreated it myself using the tree element from the kit.

Prime Time With the Pampered Stamper

I will be doing a video tutorial on this card in my private group Prime Time with the Pampered Stamper. If you are on Facebook you could join this group. I created it as a way to sustain my business and create a sort of intimate “coffee and a card” atmosphere. It is only ten dollars a month to be a part of this group and there are some great perks besides the weekly video. I do a prize patrol draw each week and each month there is FREE 16 project pdf tutorial. I hope you join as well! Here is the link if that is what you would like to do.

If you are looking for a great way to have some stamping fun without having to think too much, you might want to consider Paper Pumpkin. This is a fun monthly kit that is also portable. It contains everything you need for instant creativity. Bring it to the cottage, to your parents’, to the office, basically wherever you go. It’s that time again! I have booked my next trip to Holland and I am doing another Happy Mail in Holland contest. If you start sending your cards now they will be there when I get there. I would love to blog about your card and your hometown. Did you know there is an added benefit? I have been introduced to a little boy who collects stamps and i am saving all the special stamps to send to him. Please send your cards to Jackie Bultje, Bloemenlaan 6, 2691 JC ‘s-Gravenzande, the Netherlands. My trip will be shorter one this time so that I can spend Christmas with my kids and grandkids. Snowman Treat Holders

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I have some fun Snowman Treat Holders for you. Those of you who know me also know that I almost never make treat holder kind of things. Truth be told, I have always been a little afraid of making 3-D things. I don’t consider myself a logical person, so I shy away from lots of folding and cutting and visualizing. It’s probably true with this as with so many other things that practice makes perfect.

Snowman Treat Holders

Chocolate Bar all dressed up

I think what really converted me to treat holders is that it can turn a rather simple thing into a very heartfelt and thoughtful gift. The way I made this it is also totally regiftable, just like a gift bag. That makes me especially happy. The recipient of my gift can also pay it forward now, even if they are not a paper crafter!

Pretty and Functional

The way the ribbon is tied around the chocolate bar makes it easy to take out of the package AND it looks great when it is still in the package. Don’t you love it when something is both pretty and functional?

My First Ever Box Design

I have to say that I am quite proud of the box that I designed. It was created completely without any help, just me playing with my ruler and my paper trimmer till I got it right. This might be the beginning of a new adventure.

I did a complete video tutorial of both of these projects in my private Facebook Group, Prime Time with the Pampered Stamper. This is my unique response to COVID and the fact that I can no longer offer in person classes. It is a great place to gather with stampers and teach, share and inspire. Of course there are also weekly Prize Patrol giveaways and a monthly free pdf tutorial with 16 projects. If you want to join, you CAN!! Click here and follow the steps.

Box designed by The Pampered Stamper

I actually used a retired die from Blended Seasons bundle from a few years ago. The other supplies are Snow Wonder, Warm Hugs, misty moonlight ribbon and Flowers for Every Season twine as well as the cellophane gift bags from the holiday catalog.

Snow Wonder Treat Box

What do you think? I would love to read your comments and find out whether or not you like making little boxes and treat holders.

Free Tutorial

If you live in Canada and order the Snow Wonder bundle from me using the host code then I will send YOU a free pdf tutorial with ten great cards and a home decor item.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for joining me. I look forward to sharing my inspiration with you again on Monday. Hugs!
