Hello stampers and happy Thursday. It feels a bit strange to say that because lately I have been blogging only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Today I am going to show you how to make that gorgeous Country Club teepee card that I was talking about on Monday. Let’s take a look!
Country Club Teepee Card
This card is so striking to look at and it really makes you proud to give it to someone simply because it is so different. The best thing is that it isn’t difficult to make.
Directions
I was planning to write out all the directions, but my back is still killing me and too much sitting is not good at all. You can get the complete directions if you order from me this month as this card is part of the Demo Design Dream Team tutorial (how is that for a mouthful?) If you belong to my team or to my training group, you get this tutorial as a free perk. You can also check out this blog post for instructions and a video.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for joining me today and for taking part in my first ever Mega Facebook Party and auction yesterday. It was a LOT of fun. If you missed it, you can still see the videos on my Pampered Stamper page. We used a Double Wonder template to make fantastic cards. You can find the template here on Julie Davison’s blog as well as the story behind it. I hope to share some of my cards on Friday. Don’t forget to order your favourite retiring items including the supplies for today’s card. If you wait too long you might be disappointed, so if you live in Canada feel free to click on the items in the product list and shop online with me. I truly appreciate your business! Have a super day.
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. I am late with this blog post but I had to say goodbye to Rachel this morning and that was hard! Today I am combining Country Club paper with Do the Impossible stamp set for some quick and easy masculine cards.
Retiring List
Each year we are excited to see what the new catalog will bring, but that also means that there will be a lengthy retiring list of products. If you are new to StampinUp! you are probably wondering what the heck this even means. It means that Stampin’Up! is constantly trying to keep its offerings fresh, both in colour and style. Certain products are “retired”, that means they will no longer be available for purchase. Once the list is posted, these items are only available while supplies last. Today I am going to show you a few of my favourites that I think you should really have.
Country Club Suite
This card was made using strips of Country Club paper that are 5 1/2″ long. You can overlap them to emphasize one pattern over another. What a great way to use up your scraps! #loveitchopit
Do you know what the biggest surprise with this card was? The gold element just popped out of the delicate framelit with absolutely no poking at all! Yes, you can give this card to someone who doesn’t golf at all, it’s just a great, attractive card.
Do you see the image in this card? It is NOT a stamp. It is the paper with lots of images that you can colour. I used the rectangle stitched framelits to cut it out.
Do The Impossible
This is another great stamp set that is perfectly suited for colouring. It also pairs very well with the country club paper. I stamped the image in memento black on shimmery white paper and coloured it with Blends.
This last card with Do The Impossible also uses shimmery white cardstock but I used an aqua painter and blueberry bushel ink to do a watercolour wash across the top giving the impression of a lake in the background.
Better Late than Never
It is now ten pm, so I am going to wrap up this blog post with no further niceties. Be sure to read my newsletter for some fun stuff happening on Wednesday or read about it on my business Facebook page. If you want to see my favourite Country Club card ever, check out this blog post from a while back. Guess what? I just see that I have never blogged about this amazing card so I will share it with you on Wednesday. Sleep well my friends!
Hello stampers and happy Friday. Today I am going to post the first fun fold card in my fancy fold card contest. This card is by Ina Eisen and it features the playful Dino Days stamp set and coordinating Dinoroar paper.
Ina Eisen’s card
Before I show you Ina’s beautiful card I want to tell you just a little bit more about this talented woman. I have found out that she is a hobby demonstrator and her upline is my friend Joanne MacTavish. Turns out that Joanne was my parents’ bank teller at the Royal Bank in Fergus. Joanne is very lucky to have Ina on her team. Before I knew that Ina was a demo, you may have seen that I was trying to recruit her to join my team! I’m looking forward to spending some time with both of them when this COVID situation is over.
There are so many great details in this fun card! Ina used the stitched nested labels dies for the focal point and fussy cut the dinosaurs out of the Dinoroar paper. This paper is on sale right now and available only while supplies last. The “miss you” is from the stamp set Enjoy Life which is also retiring.
Inside View of Dino Days card
Here is the inside of this fun card. Ina used a retired stamp set called No Bones About It.
The Measurements
I almost forgot to give you the measurements for this fun card. The cardstock base is 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4 in a colour that coordinates or contrasts with your paper. Ina used mango melody for this card.
Take a piece of patterned paper 11 3/4 inches and score at 1 3/4″, 4 3/4″ and 7 3/4″. Fold the first part back towards you (mountain fold) then fold a valley fold and then a mountain fold. Just look at the picture below and it will make sense. Adhere the largest part to the card base and decorate as desired.
Ina used the stone embossing folder that was available during saleabration on the white stitched nested label.
Video on my Facebook Page
If you want to see the video of how this card was made you can see it on my business Facebook page. It was supposed to upload to YouTube as well but my camera ran out of space so it couldn’t be saved. Bummer.
Alternative Card
I made a few alternative cards using this fun paper, but I only took one picture to share. This day has been totally nuts with every technical glitch imaginable happening. I am crazy squirrel, hear me roar!!
Thanks!

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday. Have you noticed these days that it truly is the little things that make a difference? I find that when I am in a funk it is time for me to get into nature and be still. To commune with God and soak in His peace. When you slow down and rest, when you breathe deeply you also become more aware of your surroundings. All of a sudden you will see things that you didn’t see before. The buds opening on the trees, a tiny white-breasted nuthatch flitting from tree to tree. Here are some pictures that I took on my recent walk in town.
Spring Dutch Door Card
My leisurely walk through nature restored my soul. At one point I laid on the ground with my binoculars looking up at the great horned owl perched on a branch way above me. I saw it move across the branch and tilt its head down to peer at me to discern my intent. She was keeping a watchful eye on her improvised nest a few trees away and she wanted to make sure that I wasn’t a threat. When I got up, there were leaves caught in my hair but that’s ok. It was good to feel like a kid again. I sat down on a culvert in the shade and was able to see lots of bird activity. This inspired my spring card.
If you would like to know how to make this card you can check out this blog post or watch the video below.
Fancy Fold Card Contest
I am super excited because the first cards for this contest have arrived. Instead of waiting till they all come in, I will blog about them as they arrive. Stay tuned for the first card by Ina Eisen on Friday. How appropriate! Ina was the one who inspired this card and her Dino Days card will be a treat for all of you. If you want to participate in this contest, please send me a card by May 31 to Jackie Bultje, 81 Delaware Ave, Chatham, Ontario N7L 2W3. You will be entered into a contest to win the Little Ladybug stamp set.
Ornate Garden Suite
Stampin’Up! has released this beautiful new suite and I have told you nothing at all about it. I feel really badly about that because it is full of beautiful things that you might want to have. Truth is, with this Corona virus pandemic I have been super focused on helping families with my #kitsforkids. Please watch this video as it really shows how beautiful the products are. I even forgot to provide a link below in the product supply list, so you can just click here if you want to order it.
Here is an image that shows you a little more. The cards I have seen online with this suite are beautiful and I have heard nothing but good things about it. It might be the perfect #covidbuster for you.
If you click on this link you can go crazy and order whatever your heart desires. Shipping is faster than Amazon!!
Have a super day and thanks for dropping by. Stay safe. Be patient. Be kind.
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I will be featuring the last batch of happy mail for Gerard cards. I want you to be able to enjoy them all and I don’t feel like drawing out the process any longer. By now you know that I am not a very patient person!
Barb Gourlay’s Card
Barb got very creative and used lots of different products on this lovely card. Let’s see if I can figure it all out. First I will show you the card and you can think along with me!
Barb embossed her images in gold on vellum cardstock and she used Grace’s Garden on page 13 of the mini catalog as well as My Meadow from page 23. Just so you know, the dies from Grace’s Garden are available again! The “welcome” is from the Well Written dies and the birds are contraband (I think!). Barb stamped the coloured images on whisper white cardstock underneath and they are from My Meadow. Thanks for this beautiful, intricate card Barb. What a fun technique! I haven’t tried this yet, but I think you first stamp your coloured images and then lay the vellum over top and stamp your outline images in versamark so they are placed correctly.
Barb comes from Chatham, Ontario and I am blessed to have her on my team!
Faye Molsberry’s card
The next card is from Faye Molsberry and it is a lovely vintage card using the Come Sail Away suite. I love everything about this card, the attention to detail on the die cut with the sentiment, the colour scheme of soft suede, mossy meadow and very vanilla, and the braided linen trim. Thanks so much for your beautiful card Faye. Faye participated in the happy mail in Holland contest too, so you can read about her hometown and see her other card in this blog post. She is from Central Butte Saskatchewan which is quite far north.
Here you can see the detail that I love so much.
Shelly Merkin’s Card
Shelly’s card came late, but it was a lovely surprise. It is a fancy fold card that uses The Sailing Home stamp set as well. Let’s take a look:
If you want to make this card you will need two pieces of patterned paper 5 7/16″ by 1 15/16″. The card is 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ from either side of the long edge.
I love how Shelly brought the party to the inside of the card. Don’t you just love this suite? That gorgeous rope accent is made using one of the Smooth Sailing dies. The anchor was embossed in silver as was the lighthouse on the outside of the card. The oval is adhered to one side of the flap using dimensionals so that the belly band can slide underneath to keep the card closed.
I have lost the envelope from Shelly’s card so I can’t tell you where she is from, I only remember that it is from somewhere in the States. Maybe Shelly will share that information with us in a comment. Thanks so much for your card Shelly, Gerard loved it too.
Fancy Fold Card Contest
My next card contest is a fancy fold one. You need to use Stampin’Up! supplies for your card, but they can be retired. I want you to be able to use up your stash. Cards should be received by May 31. You will be entered into a draw for the Little Ladybug stamp set and I will feature your card on my blog. If you could include a link or information on how you made your card and what the fold is called that would be ever so helpful. Please mail to Jackie Bultje, 81 Delaware Ave, Chatham, Ontario N7L 2W3.
More Inspiration
If you want more inspiration, be sure to check out this blog post where I have used the Come Sail Away Memories and More cards to make a beautiful sampler.
