Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I am going to share a card with you that gave me goosebumps when I opened it. That’s right, I didn’t make this card, the talented Sandy Allman did as part of my fancy fold card contest. As per usual, the pictures do not do justice to this beautiful card. Do you want to see it?
Side-Step Card using No Matter the Weather
Sandy used the cheerful March Paper Pumpkin, No Matter the Weather to make this fantastic card. It has been a long time since I have made this type of card. Sandy has definitely inspired me to do it again and I hope you will be inspired as well. Let’s take a look.
Sandy used some more great products to make this card. Can you spot them all?
Grace’s Garden bundle (Garden Gateway dies)
So Sentimental bundle (Stitched So Sweetly dies)
Stitched Shape framelits (although the stitched circle is also a part of the Paper Pumpkin kit)
Side-Step Card Tutorial
Would you like to know how to make this card? Here is a tutorial I found on Splitcoaststampers. I do hope to make a video tutorial but in the meantime this will get you started. Just click here and you are good to go.
Thanks Sandy!
Thanks Sandy for participating in my fancy fold card contest. Sandy is from Prince George, British Columbia. If you would like to know more about this beautiful city, you can check out this blog post.
A Little Uncertain
I am supposed to fly to Holland next week Tuesday and if all goes as planned there might be an interruption in my blog posts. Then you can look forward to more Dutch pictures and videos as I do hope to continue working from there as well. I would encourage you to place your orders online so that you can have your products shipped straight to your door. There are new catalogs in a rubbermaid tote on my front porch if you would like to pick one up. If you need one mailed to you let me know, as long as you live in Canada.
Thanks for joining me, I hope you have a super day.
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. For the Love of Felt is a fabulous kit in the annual catalog that I waited too long to get. It is a very unique kit that is unlike any other kit that Stampin’Up! has offered. I think this kit is perfectly suited to spring and summer with it’s bright and cheerful felt flowers and leaves. Would you like to see and hear some more about it?
For the Love of Felt project kit
Like the name of it suggests, this kit focuses on bright and beautiful felt accents; flowers, leaves and stitched elements. The kit does not include the stamp set, but I highly recommend getting the stamp set as well since you will want to make the cards exactly as shown. If we were in normal, non-COVID times everyone would order the kit and then come to my place to make the cards together using my stamp set. Now you get to spoil yourself and get both!
A Closer Look at the Cards
Here you can see how nice the cards look up close. I am looking forward to playing with this kit to make different cards too.
Here is one last picture that shows the pretty box and a glimpse of the envelopes too.
Why Get a Kit?
Kits provide instant gratification. They are a great starting point for your own creativity. What I like to do is to make one of each card design exactly as shown in the kit. Then I will put it away for a little bit and get back to it to do something different. Sometimes all I will switch out is the sentiment. I really like what fellow demonstrator Sharon Burkert did with it. You can check out her blog post here.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for joining me today, I really do appreciate each and every one of you. My hope is that I can connect with you in a meaningful way and provide you with creative inspiration. If you live in Canada I would love your business or if you are an avid paper crafter, then you should seriously consider joining my national team with a great international training group. Not only will you get your own continual discount, you will also belong to a fantastic tribe and have the possibility of growing your very own business. I would love to share what I have learned over the last fourteen years as a demonstrator with YOU! Have a super day.
Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I am featuring a lovely twisted pop-up card with Magnolia Lane paper. This gorgeous creation was made by Terry Hamilton as part of my fancy fold card contest. I had taken pictures with my good camera but now I am experiencing technical difficulties with my computer and the photos won’t load. What an exercise in frustration! Plan B is now in action and I have used my phone camera instead.
Twisted Pop-Up Card
Terry wrote to me that this is one of her favourite fancy fold cards to make and I have to agree. The surprise factor is golden! Watching someone’s face when they open this type of card is priceless. Here is the outside of Terry’s card.
Terry really let the beautiful paper remain the focal point here. Subtle touches like the stitched shape framelits, the champagne rhinestones and the white twine bow are perfect. Do you see the lovely ribbon peeking out? You want to get that as well as the paper because they are perfect together. The paper is retiring AND it is on sale; how awesome is that?
An Inside Video
A photo doesn’t really capture the beauty of the inside of the card, so I did a quick video. If my computer ever does load the photos from my good camera, then I will add some more photos as well. In the meantime, here is the video.
I have done a video showing the step by step creation of this type of card and I have been told it is the most simple version of this card out there. I tried a few different ways of making this card before deciding on the best way and I think I succeeded. You can find it in this blog post.
Terry comes from Kelowna, British Columbia. If you are not familiar with Canadian geography, I live in the middle of the country in Ontario and it would be a five hour flight to get to the west coast where British Columbia is!
A Few More Photos
I finally succeeded in uploading my photos to my computer so here are two more pictures that show the inside of this beautiful card.
Live Video this afternoon
I will be doing a live video some time this afternoon when my new catalog preorder comes in. It is always very exciting to see the new incolours and other great new products. As demonstrators we get to order early from a selection of new products. The annual catalog will go live on June 3. My videos are on my Pampered Stamper Facebook page as well as on YouTube.
Thanks for joining me today. If you would still like to join in on the Fancy Fold card contest for a chance to win the Little Ladybug stamp set, you can mail your card to me in Holland! Jackie Bultje, Bloemenlaan 6, 2691 JC ‘s-Gravenzande, The Netherlands. I hope to fly out on May 19!!
Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I will be sharing my Well Dressed Class to Go. I’m a little late writing this blog because I was busy doing yardwork. My lawn has been looking terrible and I was told it was because I needed to plant more grass seed and fertilize it. This has now been done and it feels pretty good. Every time I walk to the mailbox I admire the beautiful lawns from my neighbours and I am a little green with envy, unlike my yard!
Well Dressed Supplies
These are the some of the supplies I used for my Well Dressed class to go. Basic Grey, Seaside Spray, Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy were the colours and denim ribbon as the manly accent. The sayings are all from the COVID19 product giveback pdf that is a fundraiser for the World Health Organization and the United Way.
Well Dressed Class to Go
I have designed four cards to go with this great stamp set which is included in this class to go. I will also do a video tutorial to show you how I made the cards. It really is very simple, but a video is always fun to follow along with. Please click below to choose your option, local pickup, shipping in Canada, or shipping to the States.
Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. I am going to show you how to make some adorable face mask cards that will be perfect to send out as we are all getting rather tired of this COVID-19 situation. Who would have thought that we would have to endure social isolation this long? There are definitely things that are very difficult now, but I am sure we can all agree that there have also been unexpected blessings.
Measurements for the paper face mask
This is really want you need to know and then you can use the face mask on any cards you like.
Patterned paper 2 3/4″ by 2 1/8″
Accordian fold this scoring on the shorter edge at 1/2″, 5/8″, 1″. 1 1/8″, 1 1/2″, and 1 5/8″.
Burnish the folds with your bone folder.
Put tear and tape on both ends. Cover this with a strip of whisper white cardstock 1/4″ by 1″.
Put tear and tape along the longer edges and cover with strips of whisper white cardstock 1/4″ by 2 3/4″.
Cut two pieces of 1/8″ ribbon at 2 3/4″, secure to short ends using glue dots.
Open up your folds in the middle of the mask to create dimension. Put a piece of tear and tape in the middle from end to end to hold it open. You can choose to reinforce this with a strip of whisper white cardstock a 1/4″ wide but I didn’t find that necessary. Just don’t remove the backing from the tear and tape.
The actual card
I used bermuda bay for the card base and the sailing home paper for the mask as well as the argyle embossing folder.
For this card I used lovely lipstick cardstock which is retiring by the way! The mask is made from the Best Dressed paper (also retiring).
Here is a good video to watch (before I made a good one)
If you want to see the one that I did on my Facebook live, you can check that out here
COVID-19 Response Fundraiser
Stampin’Up! has come up with a great pdf fundraiser to raise money for the World Health Organization and the United Way. It is 17 pages long with two pages of instructions and the rest are lots of different sayings that uniquely apply to our COVID situation. The sayings are in black and in colours and coordinate with many different punches and framelits. Click here if you want more information or if you want to buy one. It costs $12 US.
Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed the cards. They are a bit fiddly but super cute and fun to give.
