Making Cards for Men

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I will be talking some more about making cards for me as we continue the sharing of the happy mail for Gerard contest. If you don’t have an image appropriate for your man and his interests, you can make a very nice card using patterns and textures. That is exactly what Joanne  Foster from Australia did.

Joanne Foster’s Card

Joanne was very thoughtful and included a note with her card telling me exactly what she used to make it. While we use Stampin’Up! products all the time, sometimes it takes a little digging to remember what stamp set a certain saying is from or which patterned paper was used. The colour scheme is tranquil tide, very vanilla and night of navy. For beautiful texture, the Tin Tile embossing folder and the tranquil tide velvet ribbon was used. Two different patterned paper groups were used, True Gentleman from last year and a tranquil tide muted paper from Classic Garage. The words are from a saleabration set called Sending You Thoughts. In the inside of the card Joanne used Timeless Textures stamped off for a subtle effect.

True Gentleman

Jo is from Grovedale, Victoria, Australia. She also participated in my happy mail in Holland contest. You can read more about her hometown and see that card in this blog post.

When I looked back at that post I see that I really didn’t write much at all about her hometown, so let me give you some more details here. Grovedale is a suburb of Geelong and has German roots. The area used to be known for its vineyards but it seems the vines were wiped out by a nasty aphid in the 1870’s. What a shame! This town is located on the Surfcoast Highway which sounds like a lovely roadtrip to me.

Peggy Dotson’s card

Peggy used one of my favourite sets in the mini catalog and the same one that I was chosen to present on at OnStage in Toronto in November. Did you know that I have made a tutorial on all those great cards so that you can recreate them with ease? Just click here to find it.

Paris- Man Card

Peggy was the lucky winner of the Happy Mail for Gerard contest and she chose the stamp set Pedal to the Metal for her prize. I think Peggy must be a romantic at heart. Paris is definitely on my bucket list to visit with Gerard. I was there for my fiftieth birthday with my daughter Rachel and I loved this city. At the time I was hoping that someday I would be able to return with someone who truly loved me, I think it will happen sooner than later! The grey script in behind the Eiffel tower is a lovely vintage touch. Thanks for participating Peg!

Fancy Folds Contest

Are you enjoying seeing all the cards that were a part of the Happy Mail for Gerard contest? I love checking my mailbox for happy mail and then blogging about the cards later. It is a wonderful way to connect with you my readers. That is why I have decided to host another contest. This one will feature fancy folds cards which basically means anything but your standard card. I know that there is a lot of hidden talent out there and I would love to be inspired by you and feature your cards on my blog. The prize for this contest will be Little Ladybug OR a stamp set of your choice up to $30 in value. Anyone can participate. The contest ends May 30. 2020. You can mail your cards to Jackie Bultje, 81 Delaware Avenue, Chatham, Ontario N7L 2W3.

Coffee and a Card Monthly Subscription

Do you enjoy watching my weekly coffee and a card live videos on Tuesdays? I hope you will consider subscribing to my coffee and a card monthly subscription. This is my solution for keeping my business viable during COVID19. For $60 a month I will mail your card kits to you and you will get a $20 coupon towards Stampin’Up! products. If you do not live in Canada then you can use this coupon for my tutorials or for retired product including Paper Pumpkin stamps. Please message me with your email address if you are interested so that I can send you a PayPal invoice. Instead of a live video there will be an exclusive Zoom meeting so you can see the cards being made. I will also share a recipe each week to inspire you with great treats at home. All my other videos will remain accessible to all.

Zoom Only Option

If you do not wish to subscribe to the monthly coffee and a card class, you can still join in on the Zoom meeting for a nominal fee of $5. I am hoping that this will help keep me in business! I cannot include stamped images in the kits, but for this first kit I did include the “I miss your face” label as it is so very appropriate for the COVID19 situation and it is from a stamp set that you can not buy as it was a free saleabration set called Tags in Bloom.

Thanks for joining me, I hope you have a super day. See you live at 1pm on my Pampered Stamper Facebook page. You can also see these videos on my YouTube channel. Subscribe here so you never miss another video!

The Romance of Parisian Blossoms

Hello stampers! The romance of Parisian Blossoms is inspiring to me. This beautiful suite makes it so easy to celebrate the love in your life, also with a scrapbook page or with a beautiful framed piece. We all know that the Eiffel tower has long been an icon for romance. I also decided to celebrate the love in my life with two different projects.

My Parents

Lately I have been sharing a lot about my parents. They got married quite late in life according to the standards of the day. Mom was 26 and Pap was 31! As they have been blessed with good health and long life, they have now been married 61 1/2 years. Even though they have never been to Paris, they have such a deep and abiding love that I knew their wedding picture would be perfect accentuated by this suite. This paper looks so good with a black and white picture. Keep in mind that Mom made and designed her own wedding dress!

My Own Love

As many of you already know who follow me, I have also found new love. It would be more accurate to say that I have rediscovered my old love! I first met Gerard when I was 17 years old at my cousin’s birthday party while on vacation in Holland. We wrote letters for a year and then he came to Canada to visit me for my 18th birthday. The ocean was too large and we parted ways. Largely due to the family connection, we found each other again two years ago. I shared a bit of the story on this scrapbook page.

I used both sets in the Parisian Blossoms suite to make this page as well as the very versatile Hand-Lettered Prose dies to make the title.

A Personal Note

I know that I promised you a pdf tutorial today, but things transpired yesterday to prevent that from happening. Pap is now in the hospital, the pain from shingles became unbearable. Family comes first, but please know that I will get this done as soon as possible. Thanks for joining me, I do so appreciate your support, both personally and in my business. Today is the last day of the sale, so remember to stock up on your neutrals and regals card stock and ink pads, they are all 15% off! Eight selected bundles are also an additional 5% off, they are featured at the end of the product list if you are interested.

Edited: pdf now available

If you want to make all these projects with no guesswork, I have made a comprehensive pdf for you and it is only $15. Just click on the buy it now button below and I will get it sent to you. Thanks so much for your support, it really does mean the world to me.

Lady in Red

Hello stampers! If you grew up in the eighties like me, chances are that you know Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh. I really do love this song and I also love the colour red. No surprise then that I chose to highlight the colour red in my creations using the Parisian Blossoms suite. Cherry cobbler to be specific, but Lady in Cherry Cobbler doesn’t sound quite as catchy, more like a gluttonous mini person caught in a dessert pan!

Some More Cards

A pop of red for Parisian Blossoms suite

I do love this card so much with it’s luscious red flowers. Combining different patterns of paper also really appeals to me. The trick to remember with this is to always combine a bigger, bolder pattern with a smaller, more subtle pattern. This card is a special fold as well and I will share all the details in the pdf.

A pop of red on this Parisian Blossoms card

You can see the same colour scheme with this card- cherry cobbler, petal pink and old olive. The metallic edge petal pink ribbon just sets it off perfects as does the “scripty” patterned paper from Parisian Blossoms specialty designer series paper. The sentiment was embossed with silver. Do you see the champagne rhinestones scattered here and there? It really is in the details. It is such fun making your own patterned paper.

All the Details

Tonight I am going to get to work making a detailed pdf with all the measurements, tips and tricks for making these cards. I hope to have it on my blog tomorrow! I am also toying with the idea of having a mega online party for everyone who orders this suite with me online in January. The plan would be to make ALL the cards during an exclusive live video. Wouldn’t that be fun? For those of you who couldn’t purchase through me because they live in the wrong country I might offer another option. Stay tuned for details while I work it all out. Tomorrow’s blog post will feature the scrapbook page and the framed piece featuring my parents.

Extravaganza Sale

If you scroll to the end of the product list you will see the eight bundles that are on sale until tomorrow. They are an additional 5% off the regular 10% off in the catalog. To sweeten the deal I am offering free shared host benefits to everyone who orders online using the host code or in person with me. All ink pads and cardstock in the neutrals and regals families are also 15% off, so be sure to stock up on these great basics. To be included in the free shared host benefits you can order anything you like, not just sale stuff!  Happy shopping and thanks so much for your ongoing support, I appreciate it very much.

An Exclusive Facebook Group

I have a special exclusive Facebook group that is only for my customers and training group members. It is called The Pampered Stamper Elite Group and you can find it here. Please only request to join if you are a customer, team member or training group member, there are no exceptions. This is just another small way to make those who support me feel more special.

Tutorial now available

My pdf on how to make all the projects is now available! What a lovely gift to yourself to be able to recreate all these cards and pages without too much thinking. I hope you love it.

Parisian Blossoms Continued

Hello stampers! I am back from a wonderful visit with my parents. When I am with them I try to leave work behind. They are my number one priority especially at their age! Pap just turned 93 and Mom is 87. Sadly, Pap had shingles for his birthday so that did put a damper on the festivities. We are just so thankful to still have him with us and that they can still be happily married, together in their own home. Now is time for Parisian Blossoms to be continued!

Parisian Blossoms Cards

Have I told you yet how much I love this suite of products? The two stamp sets with their coordinating framelits work beautifully together, but they also stand well on their own. When I was given these products to create with I just let the creative juices flow and for the most part I ended up using them both on the same card. Let’s take a look at what I have made.

Parisian Blossoms

This card is a 5 1/2″ square card. I love how the stitched nested label dies go with this suite. Isn’t the Parisian Blossoms paper exquisite? In the background is the Parisian Flourish embossed vellum.

Parisian Blossoms

This frothy creation uses the Parisian Beauty stamp set, the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder, Forever Blossoms stamp set embossed with silver on vellum and the flourish framelit from the Parisian dies. Lots of love in this card perfect for any romantic occasion! Our champagne foil paper is the perfect pairing for this suite of products don’t you agree?

Parisian blossoms

I especially created this card to fit into a regular business envelope. I also wanted a card that used all the flower dies from the Cherry Blossoms dies in a clean and simple way. These dies both cut and emboss at the same time for a stunning effect when you use champagne foil paper. The word “amour” and the branch are both cut from black foil paper. The scripty paper from the Parisian Blossoms specialty designer paper is the perfect backdrop for this card.

I thought I would end this post with a clean and simple card that is suitable for both genders. This card also shows how lovely it is to stamp on patterned paper. This is a 4 1/4″ square card. Be sure to get your shimmer black embossing powder now as it is NOT being carried over into the new year.

More Parisian Blossoms Tomorrow

Tomorrow I will be sharing some cards that I made with this suite using a special technique. What I liked most about these cards is their pop of colour! While the soft colours in this suite are exquisite, I wanted some bold drama with cherry cobbler! Stay tuned for more.

Parisian Blossoms Suite Presentation

Hello stampers! I had so very much presenting Parisian Blossoms at #OnStage2019 this past weekend in Toronto. Today I will share with you the cards that I made for this presentation. In the following days I will be sharing more detail and the final project will be a complete pdf of all the projects to help you create these beauties.

Beginner Card

I remember how much fun I had when I first inked up a stamp and put it on paper. It was magic! Beginner stampers love to stamp, so this collage stamping card is perfect. Collage stamping is also very forgiving if you stamp imperfectly as it hides little lines and smudges. It also allows you to stamp multiple times in different colours.

Casual Crafter Card

If you like a bit more of a fancy card but don’t want to do a lot of work, this is your card. Using our pretty designer series paper makes it so easy to make a beautiful card in very little time.

Avid Card

If you are an avid card maker, you love to pull out all the stops and make an over the top card with lots of layers and detail. This card is for you. It is an easel fold card.

Here is the inside of the card:

Love is in the Air

This suite of products is so very romantic, so of course this card is going in the mail to Gerard. I will tell him that I look forward to seeing the  Eiffel tower with him and strolling the Champs Elysée.

Do You Want It?

If you have fallen in love with this suite of products and can’t wait until January to get it, I have a solution for you. Get the starter kit. You can add it to your starter kit in December. Did you know that on your first order after getting your starter kit you can already get free saleabration items in December? That’s just another bonus for getting the starter kit which is already an amazing deal. Message me if you need more details.

I need to go and make a cake for my Pap’s 93rd birthday tomorrow. Even though he has shingles, I am still going to visit him and celebrate this amazing birthday. Most likely there will not be a blog post tomorrow. Wednesday I hope to blog again and by Friday I should have the pdf available. Thanks for your patience and for all the amazing feedback I received from you. Have a super day.

Edited:  the pdf is now available! Click on the buy it now button and follow the prompts and I will send it to you!
