Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Wonderful Moments is an amazing stamp set in the annual catalog that I fell in love with the moment I saw it. It has gorgeous line images that are perfect for colouring but also for clean and simple stamping. This stamp set also has a ton of great sentiments in a beautiful font. A great combination for sure!
This Saturday their will be many wonderful moments as we gather with our community at our local church for a vintage fashion show of wedding dresses through the decades. It is a fundraiser for our refugee committee so it will not only be a fun afternoon but it will also be for a very good cause. On Sunday I was asked if I could make fifteen thank you cards for the people who donated dresses for this event. I took a deep breath and said yes, not knowing how I would fit this extra task into my week.
Paper Pumpkin to the Rescue
You may be wondering why I would subscribe to Paper Pumpkin. I design most of my own cards so why would I want to get a kit to make cards? Purely for convenience! Not to mention the great stamp sets that last forever and the very useful mini ink pads that are simply superb for using with the Stamparatus. Paper Pumpkin is also very portable and I have often taken it to my parents where I have a fun morning crafting with my 88 year old mom. This time Paper Pumpkin saved my butt because it was so easy to make thank you cards for this fundraiser. It was just what I needed. Do you want to see what I made?
Simple Thank You Cards
All I did was stamp the bride image on the front of these 3″ square cards with the pretty little thank you from the I’ll Bee Yours Paper Pumpkin stamp set. I then stamped the envelope with those stamps as well. I am particularly pleased with the stamped image on the envelope flap!
These days I’m not sure if the photo is a little blurry or if it is my eyes!! If you think it is blurry, be sure to leave me a comment since that might mean I need to clean the lens of my camera or get my eyes checked or both!
If you want to see some other cards that I have made with Wonderful Moments, check out this blog post.
Paper Pumpkin Possibilities
Here you can see the great stamp set that came with the January Paper Pumpkin. I just placed an order for a customer for a twelve month Paper Pumpkin subscription so I have all the facts at my fingertips. With her prepaid subscription she also got five saleabration items and $30 in free host merchandise. It really is the best time to order your Paper Pumpkin. This deal is on until March 31, 2020. The possibilities are amazing.
Your other option, one which someone else in my circle chose, is to get the starter kit which will give you so many freebies and save you shipping and tax. Then you order your own Paper Pumpkin subscription, get all the aforementioned benefits AND save 20%. Do I have a lot of great suggestions today or what? You know I have your very best interests at heart. The Dutch blood in me makes me passionate to save you as much money as possible.
Here is a closeup of the stamp set in January’s Paper Pumpkin kit. The great thing is that it coordinates with the heart punches in the mini catalog as well as with the Honey Bee stamp set. I think this gives Paper Pumpkin even greater value because coordination is priceless. Here is the link to the YouTube video that shows you this month’s projects.
If you would like to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and get this great kit delivered straight to your door every month simply click here to get started. This link will only work if you live in Canada.
A Big Day Tomorrow
Tomorrow is going to be an epically exciting day for the Beyond Pampered team. We have the head of Stampin’Up! Canada coming to our team gathering and we are thrilled. That may mean no blog post tomorrow, but I will be sure to share pictures of our event on Friday’s post.
Thanks for joining me today, I hope you have a super day.
Wonderful Moments is a great stamp set that has six lovely images, 12 different sayings and a few design elements. It can be used all alone without any embellishment or colouring or you can colour the images with Blends, an aqua painter and ink, watercolour pencils or with a blender pen and ink. Not sure where to start? “Case” the catalogue. That simply means to use the samples in the catalogue and copy them. That is what my team member Carolyn Hanson-Henderson did with this card. A few months ago we did a card swap with our team and that was the theme: “case the catalog”. C.A.S.E. means copy and share everything. Here is Carolyn’s gorgeous card.
Carolyn used blackberry bliss as the card base which she embossed with the Ruffled embossing folder, fresh fig ribbon and regals collection designer series paper. I liked this card so much that I decided to case it in night of navy for my Blends Club on Thursday since night of navy is one of the colours that all the club members are getting.
I love the combination of night of navy and granny apple green so I immediately thought of our Tropical Chic designer series paper. I also love gingham, so this ribbon was just perfect. Since the pattern in the paper is also small it is possible to mix a few patterns together for great effect. The little strip of green patterned paper is 3/4″ by 5 1/2″, perfect if you #loveitchopit to use up all your scrap. If you cut a card front layer out of 6″ x 6″ paper then you will have a strip left over that will be enough to cut two strips for two of these cards! Don’t hoard your paper, love it, chop it and use it.
Blends are perfect for colouring this lovely lady. I used the Bronze Blend to colour her hair and Ivory on her legs and hands. Night of Navy is used on her dress, shoes, balloons and gift bag. Do you notice the shadow around her? I created that using Light Pool Party which I lightened some more using the Colour Lifter. Here is a closeup.
I realize that with the pop of granny apple green it really isn’t a monochromatic card anymore!! I still love it and there are blue dots in the paper…. I have to say I am super pleased with how the Blends show up in this photograph. Everyone in the Blends Club (this is now the second one I am offering) is super happy with how they colour. I hope to offer a third summer session if there is enough interest. I am also thinking it is high time for me to offer online classes! I keep procrastinating. I would love to hear from you if you are interested in online classes. Maybe that will give me the push that I need to get started. I also think that the ruffled embossing shows up really well. This folder is so beautiful, it truly creates a 3D effect that makes you want to touch the paper and hold it at different angles to see if it has been coloured like that!
Thanks for stopping by today. If you need anything or wish to recreate this card, just click on the images below and you will go straight to my online store. If you could also use the host code when you shop online that would be fantastic. The code is always found on the sidebar of my blog.
Hello stampers. Those who have known me for a while know that I have made great strides in organizational skills. This is not first nature to me at all. I wish that I could come up with a great system for organizing all the sentiments that we have in our stamp sets. A search engine would be awesome. That way we could find all the “get wells”, the “happy anniversaries” etc. Every once in a while I stumble across a set that has a lot of great sayings that I could have used more often. Today we are going to use one of those sets. It is called Wonderful Moments. I initially chose that set for the beautiful lined images that are perfect for watercolouring or blends, but there are many great sayings in it too. Add to that, it pairs perfectly with Petal Promenade paper which is a free saleabration item for just a wee bit longer. Yes, saleabration ends this Sunday!!
For these cards I combined two saleabration freebies: Petal Promenade paper and Country Floral embossing folder. The texture and dimension of these easy cards is fantastic. I did have to fussy cut the elements on the middle two cards but it was quite easy and not too time-consuming. Let’s take a closer look.
This Petal Promenade paper is just so beautiful, the flowers just pop off the page and you can almost smell them! One of the sheets in this designer paper pack has images that you can cut out. Some are square or rectangle and there are two wreath images that are a little more fussy to cut out, but totally worth it. All you need to do is pair with some matching cardstock, in this case Blackberry Bliss and a bit of ribbon. I used the muted patterned paper for the card front. In this paper pack one side is a bold floral and the other is more muted and soft.
I just love how the Country Floral embossing folder looks so pretty with this paper. You can combine it with either whisper white or very vanilla depending on your mood.
The lovely thing about our suites is that there are a lot of coordinating products available to take your card to a new level. It’s all in the details right? There are Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems and well as Rose Metallic thread. I kept these cards quite simple so I didn’t use the metallic thread, but I have used it on other cards and it is lovely.
This last card uses the Petal Promenade paper both in the background and as the focal point. I used the stamp set Wonderful Moments for the sentiment and a little petal pink rhinestone jewel as an accent.
I hope you were inspired by my cards today and have seen how easy it is to make beautiful cards with the Petal Promenade paper that you can get for free with a $60 purchase until March 31. Saleabration is almost over!! All products used in these cards will be listed below, just click on any of them and you will be taken to my online store. Technology makes it pretty easy for you to be separated from your money!! Have a super day.
