Spring Sampler

Hello stampers. This Spring Sampler is a little late, but it is officially still spring! Last year I made samplers for each season and my customers were requesting more of them. They are such fun to make! While making cards is very gratifying, they get sent away. A sampler is your creative work framed for all to see. Do you want to see what I made?

This spring sampler showcases our pretty new stamp called Butterfly Wishes as well as Beautiful You and Enjoy LIfe.

I didn’t have time to take pictures of each individual rectangle but I can tell you which stamps I used and the colours. The colours are whisper white, petal pink, calypso coral and pear pizzazz. I used a new stamp set called Butterfly Wishes as well as Enjoy Life, Beautiful You and the Large Letter framelits. The letters are popped up with mini dimensionals over vellum which was layered on the Petal Promenade designer series paper. With the new catalog going live today both the letter framelits and this pretty paper is now discontinued.

Measurements

frame: 8″ by 10″

bottom panels:  calypso coral 3 5/8″ by 2 7/8″  white: 3 3/8″ by 2 5/8″

centre panel- petal promenade paper:  2 7/8″ by 7 1/2″  vellum: 2 1/2″ by 7″

top panels: 2 3/8″ by 3 1/4 (one was calypso coral, two were grapefruit grove) white or patterned paper 2 1/4″ by 3 1/8″

The panel with the lady from Beautiful You was a happy accident. I used the wavy framelet from Lilypad Lake to make an intricate design on the one end but instead it cut it right off leaving a nice wavy edge, so I just added some pretty paper from the Petal Promenade collection to add interest. It is 2 5/8″ wide and is tucked behind the white panel.

I added a scrap of ribbon to the top right panel that has the saying from Enjoy Life. Tomorrow I hope to share my Summer Sampler. We will be making this sampler on Saturday June 15 at 1pm. the cost is $25. I can make a kit that you can order  but I cannot include stamped images. Thanks for dropping by and remember the new catalog goes live today!! What is at the top of your wish list?

A Good Man

Hello stampers. A Good Man is the name of a new stamp set in the upcoming annual catalog. Not much longer to wait, this amazing catalog goes live on Tuesday! If you live in Canada and need a catalog let me know. They cost $5 to ship but this will be credited back to you on your first order. A Good Man is perfect for Father’s Day but also just to say I love you or thank you to a great guy. There is no happy birthday sentiment in this set but you could combine it with another set for that or simply write in the inside. People who love you cherish your handwriting!! Here is the trio of cards that I have for you for Tuesday’s coffee and a card class. The green gingham one was given to me as a swap card by Pat Skirtschak. She does lovely work and I’m so happy she gave me this card. I hope to do a tutorial video on it later today.

A Good Man is a brand new stamp set in the upcoming catalog going live June 4 2019.

Pat used the Gingham Gala patterned paper for the middle card as well as Waterfront Stamp set for the palm trees and the water and birds from High Tide. Those lovely stitched rectangle framelits also add a lot to this card. If you want this Gingham Gala paper order it now, it is retiring! The current host code is  YDZAPF6Y.

A Good Man- relax your way!

The most important technical detail on this card is that the granny apple green card front that wraps around the back is 3 1/4″ by 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.The gingham paper is 3″ by 4″, so you can get two pieces out of a 6″ by 6″ sheet of gingham gala paper. I will do a video later on showing how to make it.

What a lovely Father's Day card, how blessed to be able to say I grew up loved

I just love the images in A Good Man, they are perfect for colouring with Blends although watercolouring with our watercolour pencils would also be very nice. I’m just a Blends addict! The paper is from the Come Sail Away suite. Both of these cards are perfect examples of the #loveitchopit theory. You can get six card fronts out of one 12 x 12 sheet of paper. Cut three strips of paper 4″ x 12″ and then cut into 5 1/4″ pieces.

Being a good dad starts with being a good man. How true.

This card uses the exact same layout but uses a pop of real red instead of night of navy. The patterned paper from Come Sail Away is 4″ by 5 1/4″, the white piece is 2 1/4″ by 3 7/8″. The real red is 2 3/8″ by 4″. The sentiments are cut out using the layering circles framelits.

I earned the incentive trip thanks to you my great customers and team members

I wanted to share with you that I earned the incentive trip on Friday night. Thanks so much for being a part of that achievement!! I am so, so grateful and blessed.  As demonstrators we get a points for what we sell and also for leadership on our team. If you get enough points you can earn an annual incentive trip. I love traveling so this is truly an incentive for me to do well. I love what I do and after 13 years of doing it I have found that I also love training my fellow demonstrators to have more success in their business. I started a training group on Facebook called The Pampered Stamper Training Group. There is a small monthly fee of $5 to compensate me for my time. Here is the link if you are interested in joining and it doesn’t matter where you live, so this is a global group!

I am so happy that you stopped by today. Last week I offered a small prize (known in the blogging world as blog candy!) to someone who commented on my post. The winner is Kathy Ireland! Kathy you will be getting one of these cards as well as a photopolymer stamp that we used at OnStage to make the Hugs from Shelli cards. It is not the exact same stamp set as the one in the kit, but you will love it. I would love it if you checked out my Pinterest board as I have found that this is a great way for people to find my work. I also have a YouTube channel that you can check out here. If you subscribe you will be notified when I post.  I hope you have a super day.

Faux Chalkboard Technique

Hello stampers from a warm and sunny Chatham, Ontario!! Yes, the sun is shining and I’m so happy. Today I want to share with you the faux chalkboard technique, at least that is what I am calling it. This technique involves white craft ink and an aquapainter. I used Magnolia Lane stamp set, versamark, gold embossing powder and crumb cake cardstock. Thanks to Marion Greenlund who came to our twin team gathering yesterday and inspired me with her cards.

Marion Greenlunds card using the faux chalkboard technique and Magnolia Lane

Here is another one of Marion’s cards.

Faux Chalkboard card using Magnolia Lane.

After embossing the flowers in gold you daub craft white ink onto an acrylic block and then make a wash with your aqua painter and paint your flowers. When this has dried you go in with a sponge dauber and petal pink ink to colour the middle of the flowers. So simple and so pretty. I decided to step it up a notch and do some more layering for a very special lady.

Faux Chalkboard with Good Morning Magnolia available June 4

I took the party to the inside with this card and embossed both the sentiment and the flower in gold on shimmery white cardstock. I really love how it turned out. Isn’t the ribbon so pretty? All part of the Magnolia Lane suite.

Faux Chalkboard card inside with gold embossing on shimmery white cardstock

I love shimmery white cardstock for watercolouring. It holds up well to the water and the shimmer shines through. At over $1 a sheet I save this for special people!!

Faux Chalkboard card with pretty petal pink organdy striped ribbon.

I had so much fun making this card. I love it when a technique is easy but impressive. It makes me feel so artistic!!! Can’t wait to do this in a class with my people. I did a live video on Facebook showing how to make this card, you can check it out here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Remember there is a last minute sale on right now on selected retiring products from 10 to 30% off. Click here to see the deals. Simple Stamping

Hello stampers. SImple stamping is very rewarding when done properly. Just because a card is simple does not mean it has to be boring. It’s all in the details. Choose your elements carefully. If there are few of them they have to be nice! Pretty paper does not need a lot of embellishment, but it does need matching cardstock and ink. It needs to be balanced and uncluttered. This butterfly card is a perfect example of simple stamping.

Butterfly punch and label punch make this simple card even easier to make. It is also great to have coordinating products from Stampin'Up that take the guesswork out of designing.

The other thing that is crucial to simple stamping is colour coordination. Stampin’Up! products take all the guesswork out of designing a pretty card. The ink, the cardstock, the patterned paper and the ribbon, they all coordinate so the finished product looks super “put together”. The butterfly is punched right out of the patterned paper. The only thing stamped is the sentiment which came from Humming Along which is retiring on June 3.

Beautiful butterfly paper from Stampin'Up coordinates with our butterfly punch.

Here you can see the beautiful colours in the Butterfly paper. See how it coordinates also with the gingham gala paper, the pretty highland heather ribbon and the highland heather ink for the sentiment? I used my favourite ribbon trick to tie the faux bow. If you are not familiar with it, be sure to watch the YouTube video, I will include it here.

We made this card at my monthly beginner class which will be the last Wednesday of the month at 1pm and 7pm. Everyone was delighted with the cards, not only because they were pretty, but also because they were so easy to make.

The last card I want to share with you is another alternative to the Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin card. This time I coloured the eggs and the leaves with Blends. I love the vintage feel of this card. Paper Pumpkin is the essence of simple stamping made beautiful. No creativity needed to make beautiful things, and in the making your own creativity will be unleashed like magic.

Very vintage Paper Pumpkin alternative using Hugs from Shelli, May 2019

I added some wink of stella to the eggs and in person it looks so very pretty. This glitter brush adds just the right touch of elegance and sparkle to your creations. You should add it to your wish list!

Vintage card with Blends Storage new from Stampin'Up!

I just had to take a picture of the card in front of my Blends storage system. I love how it looks on my desk and it is so wonderful for keeping my Blends close at hand and well organized. Remember, Blends club members get to order them with no tax and free shipping as part of the perks of being a Blends club member. Here is a closeup so you can see the pretty details and texture!

Thanks so much for joining me today, please help me out by pinning your favourite cards! That helps me out so much and it is such a small thing to do. Yay!!! My heart is happy to have you on board with me. Have a super day.

Grown with Kindness Sampler

Hello stampers. I was thrilled to find two refill kits from Grown With Kindness in my paper cabinet. Now I could design a sampler that  I had brewing in my head. I really love the stamp set that came in this Paper Pumpkin as well as the gorgeous paper in the kit. The paper/cardstock was meant to layer on cards but with some creativity I came up with a different plan! Here is what I made. It is a 12 x 12 sampler in a very inexpensive frame.

Good Things Grow Paper Pumpkin February 2019 used in a 12 x 12 sampler. Kits available!

You could definitely use different paper for the background, I was playing with about five different ones but I settled on this one because it brings out the pool party colour in the cups. I have a neat trick for the saying on the bottom left square. Let’s take a closeup look.

The saying from Good Things Grow is stamped on vellum and clear embossed.

I stamped the saying from Grown With Kindness in Fresh Fig and since ink takes longer to dry on vellum I was able to clear emboss to give a nice raised image that is also more intense. I sponged Tombow liquid adhesive on the back of the vellum so that it doesn’t show. Fresh fig is retiring in a few days, so if you need any cardstock or ink refills be sure to order now! Just click on the images at the end of my blog post and then you will go straight to my online store. Live in Canada and have never ordered online before? No worries, it is totally safe. Just click on Create Account on the top left of the screen. You will be prompted on what to do next. If you choose to use the host code TXE4JNCY I would be most grateful.

If you are interested in a kit, let me know. Maybe I will have time to offer this as an in person class as well. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day.
