Hello stampers! I hope you are enjoying our Father’s Day themed blog hop. I’m very excited to be sharing some Father’s Day cards using both Waterfront and Dad Jokes. I have joined with other demonstrators from all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand who do not have an “upline” to do this Father’s Day themed blog hop. You may have arrived from Terri Stewart’s blog. She had a fabulous project!
I decided to use the Wood Textures paper because it screams “masculine” and I also love it. I paired it with Waterfront which is just so much fun to play with as well as Dad Jokes because it has a really nice Happy Father’s Day and Happy Birthday Dad sentiment as well as some other funny one-liners. I have to confess that this is not my original design. I totally cased it from Dena Albee. The only thing I changed was the colours and the sentiment. Here is my card:

Dena used marina mist and old olive for her card as well as crumb cake for the mountains. I tried that too, but I liked the combination of garden green, dapper denim and crumb cake better. She had used watercolour paper but I used shimmer white cardstock. An aquapainter makes it even more of a watercolour look.

Just to show the versatility of both this stamp set and this layout, I created one more card using the tropical images in the stamp set and the returning coastal cabana as a base. I really appreciate the feel of this card too. The colours, the textures and the layout are all very beachy.

I love that the Waterfront stamp can be used to create so many different scenes and be used for both feminine and masculine cards. The wood textures paper is very on trend and had a great feel to it. This paper makes it so easy to make a striking masculine card. Pairing it with linen thread is just a natural fit. I hope to play some more with this layout and will share in another post. Please add a comment and let me know what you liked about my design.
Thanks for hopping with us. Now click on the next image to zoom to Sue Kremer’s blog to see what fun ideas she designed.

In case you need to hop around, here is the list of participating demonstrators.

by Jackie Bultje | May 10, 2018 | Gotta Have It All Bundle |
Hello stampers. I knew from the very beginning of my stamping journey that I was a “gotta have it all” girl. That is why it took me a while to commit. When I was first introduced to stamping I stopped dead in my tracks and got nothing. It’s not that I didn’t like it. I liked it a lot!! So much so in fact that I realized almost right away that I would not be able to just dabble in this hobby. If I couldn’t get it all, I decided to get nothing. That didn’t last long. My first decision was to become a regular hostess. In the spring and in the fall I hosted a huge workshop earning me lots of free items. After a while it wasn’t enough. I needed my own discount and I wanted to share what I love with others. I became a demonstrator. I have never looked back and it has been an amazing journey. That is why the Gotta Have it All Bundle immediately caught my eye. It spoke to my heart!
Stampin’Up! has come out with a great suite of products called Share What You Love and one of the bundles available to you is the Gotta Have it All Bundle. While it is the most expensive bundle, it is also the one with the most bang for your buck. You get THREE free items with this bundle and I would suggest gathering some orders from your friends so that you qualify for a workshop and host benefits, or simply add in the bundle of new in colour ink pads and you will be there as well. Here is a screen shot of what is in this awesome bundle.

You can see all the details for this sale right here as well. I fell in love with just about everything in this bundle and I have had a lot of fun playing with it this afternoon. Here are the cards I have made. I hope you enjoy them and I would love to hear what you think, so please take the time to comment.

Let’s take a closer look at the first two cards. Both of them have a black mat measuring 4″ by 5 1/4″ with a strip of patterned paper 1 1/4″ by 5 1/4″. One has a large stitched shape circle and the other a slightly smaller one mounted on a pearlized doily. I did an emboss resist watercolour wash on these. You emboss the flower on the one card and the sentiment on the other with white embossing powder and then “wash” over it with an aqua painter mixed with either rich razzleberry ink or grapefruit grove ink. I used shimmer white cardstock for the circles.

The next card uses some of the embellishments from the Share What You Love embellishment kit that you get for free if you buy the Gotta Have it All bundle.

This card uses a wee bit of paper piecing. I stamped the flower on a piece of scrap shimmer white paper and then colour washed them with rich razzleberry and added them to my card front for a pop of colour.

There are so many lovely floral images in the stamp set Love What You Do and I tried to use all of them on this next card. I think it turned out quite nicely!!

The last card uses some fussy cut flowers that I cut from one of the beautiful sheets of paper that come in the Share What You Love specialty designer series paper. Wow! A lot of this paper has a pearlized finish as a subtle reminder that we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Stampin’Up! Pretty impressive I think.

I hope this gives you a bit of an idea of what is available in this fabulous bundle. I didn’t even use the Make A Difference stamp set which you will find to be incredibly versatile with three different alphabet fonts and so much more. That calls for a separate blog post. If you have any questions please message me, and of course I would love your business if you live in Canada and do not have a demonstrator. The current host code is always in the sidebar and you can just click on any of the catalogs to shop!

by Jackie Bultje | May 1, 2018 | Ronald McDonald House Charities, Sharing Sweet Thoughts |
Hello stampers! Do you have a cause that is dear to your heart? Well, Stampin’Up! does, and it is Ronald McDonald House Charities. In fact, they create a special stamp set each year just for this cause. $3 from each set “Sending Sweet Thoughts” goes directly to RMH. I thought I would make some cards using this set and thanks to some great inspiration from Stesha Bloodhart and Kim McGillis I had great success. This set combines a few of my favourite springtime elements: ladybugs, gingham, strawberries and butterflies, not to mention canning jars!! Take a look:

This beautiful card is totally cased from the very talented Artisan Award winner Kim McGillis. Here is her post so you can check out her work. The only thing I did differently is colour my strawberries with cherry cobbler blends. The next card is my own creation. I used a vellum overlay on the jar to soften it up a little. The framelits come from the set Everyday Jar Framelits Dies on page 213.

Do you love the grass at the bottom as much as I do? It is part of the Picnic With You bundle which is sadly retiring on May 31, so get it while you can!! I love the 1/4 inch double-stitched ribbon with the cute little “x”s, it adds just the right touch. I coloured the butterflies with our Blends which will be available to order again in June. As soon as they are available I hope to start another Blends Club.

Do you see the little water droplets on this card? They look SO real and add just the right touch to this card. Do you know where to find these hidden gems> On page 33 of the Occasions catalog, bottom left corner. They are called Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes. This card is clean and simple with the Wood Textures designer series paper in the background cut at 5″ by 3 3/4″ to give a nice white border all around. I think matting it in red would also be quite striking. In my books, you can never go wrong with a little red!! This card was inspired by Stesha Bloodhart from Wisconsin who in turn was inspired by Steffi Helmschrott from Germany. Here is Stesha’s blog post. I love our Stampin’Up! family from all around the world.
I know several people who have been greatly blessed by Ronald McDonald House Charities. It is bad enough having a child sick in the hospital far from home, but even worse having to bear the expense of staying in a hotel. RMH provides a homey place to stay for families with sick children. I hope that you will help me in supporting this great cause. How you ask? There are two ways: 1. If you live in Canada order the stamp set Sharing Sweet Thoughts either in person or online using the host code AY9KCAEQ 2. Come to my fundraiser on May 16 and make as many cards as you want either from 9:30am – 2:00pm or from 6:30pm till 10pm. Minimum donation of $30 please. 3. Share this blog post on social media so that more people will know about the fundraiser and the stamp set.

by Jackie Bultje | Apr 24, 2018 | Birthday, Picture Perfect Party |
Hello stampers! I love photography. Not that I have the patience or the time to actually read the manual or take a class, but I do love to take pictures. Maybe that’s why I also love the Picture Perfect Party paper. It is paper from Stampin’Up! that is actually photographic on one side and simply patterned on the other. It looks so real it pops! Last year they had paper called Serene Scenery that was also stunning. The Wood Textures paper that is carrying over is in a similar style. The beauty of this type of paper is that you can keep your cards very clean and simple because the paper is the focal point. I love that. I whipped together an entire class in two hours this afternoon, starting from scratch, and I am very happy with the results. So much so in fact that I am offering this class on the day before my very own birthday!! So please join me on Thursday June 7 at either 9:30 am or 7pm to make these great cards. Class is only $25 for six regular cards and four narrow note cards and envelopes, but you save $5 if you order the stamp set and you can save another $5 if you bring someone new. Here are the cards:

I combined Picture Perfect Birthday with Birthday Wit as well as Stitched Shapes framelits and some assorted ribbon that coordinated with the paper and it all came together very easily. Here are some of my raw materials.

Here you can see all the dsp I used (short forms are never really good, dsp stands for designer series paper, which basically means patterned paper that is designed to coordinate with our cardstock and stamp sets)

I found it very helpful to lay out the paper like this on my table so that I could see how many different cards I wanted to make and which patterns I wanted to showcase and which ones would have a “supporting” role. In the next picture you can see which ones ended up being used as pretty liners for my envelopes. It is little details like this that really take your cards over the top. We used to have an envelope liner framelit but I just traced the envelope flap and cut inside the lines making sure that a little envelope adhesive was still exposed so that I could seal the envelope.

Here is a closeup of one of the cards. You can see how pretty the peekaboo peach crinkled seam binding is. My go-to framelits, the stitched shapes are also lovely. They work well all on their own or you can pair them with the layering ovals framelits. For the regular sized cards I used a piece of bermuda bay cardstock 4″ by 5 1/4″ and the patterned paper was cut to 3 3/4″ by 5″.

Another great thing about the Picture Perfect Party designer series paper and the coordinating stamp set is that it doesn’t have to be just for birthdays. This last cards uses the sentiment “celebrate the good stuff”. That can be for anything and I love it!! I am all about celebrating the good stuff. Life is good, even during the tough times, there is always joy to be found.

If you scroll to the end of the post you will find all the products that I used to create these cards. If you click on them you will be taken directly to my store. I see that I forgot to add the peekaboo peach crinkled seam binding ribbon, so here is the link for that.
I would of course love it if you shopped with me anywhere in Canada, providing you don’t already have a demonstrator. I am trying to post a video as well, but the internet seems to be very slow this evening, so I may just edit this post tomorrow and add it later. Most of my videos are on YouTube and on my business Facebook page The Pampered Stamper.
If you look at all the supplies you will see that it soon will add up to well over $135. Did you know that for that amount of money you can put together an order for $165 and pay no tax or shipping? It’s called the starter kit and it comes with no strings or obligations. Message me if you want more details on this amazing deal that few people seem to know about. Have a super day and I will add that video some time tomorrow when the internet for this country girl is better.

by Jackie Bultje | Apr 18, 2018 | Brusho, Enjoy Life, masculine cards |

Hello stampers! I am so happy to have been asked to join in the Autism Awareness blog hop by Patty Chenail. The hop starts tomorrow. We are all using the colours red, blue and yellow so the first thing I thought of was Brusho. I am so happy that it is carrying over into the new catalog. The stamp set that came to mind is a brand new one called Enjoy LIfe. It was designed by Million Dollar sales achiever Connie Fitzgerald in honour of her children. I love this set as it is the perfect combination of images and sayings. I was able to pre-order this set because I attended the local OnStage event in London, Ontario. Here is the set:

I started out with three pieces of shimmer white cardstock measuring 3 5/8″ by 4 7/8″. I purposely chose this size so that I could cut out five card fronts from one sheet of shimmer white cardstock. I was planning to use three colours of Brusho on each card, but you need to wait between colours so that they don’t bleed together. This was my way of speeding up the process a little.

I first spritzed my cardstock with water, then sprinkled on the Brusho and then spritzed a little more water to make it spread. Each one is unique and that is what I love about it. Now it’s time to add the other colours.

I ended up using two of these, and for the third card I first embossed the images in black and then added the brusho. Can you tell which one used that technique?

Let’s take a closer look at the cards. For the first one I had originally black embossed both the sentiment and the images but I found that the sentiment did not stand out enough, so I stamped in on white and cut it using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

Before this rendition I had played around with the sentiment and brushed Brusho “paint” over some of the words. I like the above version better but I thought you might want to compare the two. Which one is your favourite?

Do you see how the bike looks like it is riding on a path? Total coincidence!! I first stamped the grass in versamark along the bottom but then the bike looked like it was floating, so I needed to add another layer of grass. I wanted to keep the wispy look so I didn’t want to “double stamp” so I used a sticky note to mask off the bottom grass. This left a slight white section that now looks like a path. Necessity is the mother of invention!! I am really thrilled with how the Brusho turned out on this card. I am not exaggerating when I say that I could play with this stuff all day long!!

Once again I stamped the images in versamark and then black embossed them. It stands out so nicely against the Brusho background. The sentiment was stamped in real red and pacific point. This is a really neat feature with this set. Connie Fitzgerald, the million dollar achiever who designed this set has left a space in the middle of the blue sentiment so that you can add either “love you” or “miss you”. What a great idea!! It also really resonates with me for this autism cause. The love these parents have for their children is immense.

This card just makes me happy. I love the athletic look to the silhouette image. It is strong and victorious. The sentiment is also powerful and motivating. This is the card where I first embossed the image and sentiment in black and then added the brusho. This sequence allows you to place your colour more or less where you want it. Brusho does have a mind of its own!!
I hope these cards have inspired you, but more importantly that they have helped raise awareness for Autism. So many people have to struggle with this and there is not enough funding, so research is needed so that we can learn about what causes it and how to help. Here is the link so that you can donate. Remember, when you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive: to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
