January Virtual Coffee and a Card Class

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. I am thrilled to present to you the January Virtual Coffee and a Card class. True, we are not even halfway through our December Virtual Coffee and a Card class, but I need to be ahead of the game so that you get your kits sent out to you on time. In case you haven’t joined in on this new venture yet, let me explain how it works.

Virtual Coffee and a Card Class

Every month I focus on a different bundle and create a card each week with this bundle. If you sign up for the January virtual coffee and a card then you get the month’s card kit sent to you. You can choose to order the featured bundle online if you don’t already have it. Please use the current host code if you do that!

Every Tuesday at 10am EST I do a YouTube live video showing you how to make the card of the week. This month my focus bundle is Posted for You which is a stamp set and a punch. This bundle is from the annual catalog but there is also a stamp set in the Holiday Catalog that coordinates with the punch and it is called Festive Post. In the upcoming Occasions catalog there will be TWO more stamp sets coordinating with this punch, Snailed It and Punch Party.

A Sneak Peek

Here is sneak peek of the cards that I will be featuring with this great bundle. My colour inspiration was drawn from a card that I cased from my Dutch demonstrator friend Caroline van der Straaten. It is like a breath of spring:  pool party, calypso coral, so saffron and whisper white. The monthly kit is only $25 which includes postage. I prefer payment with etransfer but PayPal is also an option, just message me for details. You can also choose to pay for several months at a time if that is easier for you.

The Actual Cards for Virtual Coffee and a Card Class

I don’t like playing games so I am also going to show you the complete cards that we will be making. Of course you can totally case them as well and I have no problem with that. The truth is that some people love the convenience of getting the kit in the mail so that they have instant gratification. On Wednesday I will show you a couple of cards that did not make the cut. I really like how these cards look together!

The card on the top left was totally cased from Caroline van der Straaten and that is also where the colour theme was derived. What do you think? I hope you can join me next month for this fun class. If you want to see another card made with this bundle, check out this blog post for a great card by Jean Saunders.

Toile Tidings #loveitchopit Cards

Hello stampers and happy Thursday to you. Today I am sharing with you some easy cards with Toile Tidings paper. I wanted to focus on some cards for my Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper group that showed the #loveitchopit technique. The premise behind this hashtag is that in order to really love your paper and use it, you need to chop it. Paper is beautiful to look at, but it is even more beautiful when you use it on your cards.

Toile Tidings

Toile Tidings is very pretty paper that was carried over from last year. Too often we are totally caught up with what is new, so I have not yet used this paper this year I am ashamed to admit. When I finally brought it out today I remembered how much I love it! These cards are easy to recreate using whatever paper you have on hand.

Toile Tidings #loveitchopit card

Why do I love toile so much? It reminds me of the wallpaper that we had in our living room in the farmhouse growing up. Ironically, even though I am totally a “red”girl, I prefer the green side of this paper with just a pop of red from the birds. The birds are actually what inspired these cards. I used one of these birds in my weekly live YouTube videos for my virtual coffee and a card class and I had a whole whackload of them laying on my desk just begging to be used on a card. If you want to see that video, just click here.

Flying Home

This post was supposed to be published yesterday but I was busy saying goodbye and getting some last minute gifts. My flight doesn’t leave till afternoon so I have a bit of time this morning to finish this off. One of the blessings of being loved by a wonderful man in the Netherlands is that I also get to reconnect on a whole new level with some of my relatives. A very touching moment happened last week when I was visiting my cousin Machteld. Machteld’s mother died of cancer when she was ten years old so she has few memories of her. My mother was very close to her mother and when my mom was telling me a story of when she was little I knew that Machteld needed to hear this story right from my mom. So we called mom while I was at their house. Trust me, there were tears all around!

My hope is that Machteld and Henk can come to Canada and meet my mom. Family ties are so precious.

Thanks!

A Merry Hello Host Stamp Set

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you! Today I am going to show you a clean and simple card using the host set A Merry Hello. This card is just stamps, ink and paper. No embelllishments, no patterned paper, no ribbon. I really like how it turned out!

What is a Host Set?

A host stamp set is one that cannot be purchased on a regular order. It can only be purchased if you either place a $200 order or if you host a workshop where you and your friends make some free cards and then place orders together that total $200 or more. You then as a host receive 10% back in host dollars. With those host rewards you can use them for exclusive host sets like this one. The purpose of host sets is to entice you to host a workshop so you can get these cute sets. For December I am going to do a draw for this stamp set for those of you who place an online order. If you would like to see a host set from the annual catalog, check out this blog post.

A Merry Hello Host Set

Enough talking, here is the card and the tags that I made using this cute host set. This set is tucked away on page 81 of the holiday catalog.

A Merry Hello host stamp set

I don’t have much ribbon at all here in Holland, but I was happy to see that the Playful Pets ribbon worked really well with my Christmas colours of real red and old olive. Here is the inside of my card.

Easy Layering

A Merry Hello is a 20 piece photopolymer stamp set which means you can see through the stamps which makes it easy to layer them for some great detail. For example this stocking is actually a black outline image. The red top was added as a separate stamp. The heel and toe is a separate stamp and so is the little tree. This allows you to create fun coloured accents with no fuss. I also love the font of the saying. Those little things make me so happy it’s almost ridiculous. When that happens you know you are a stamping addict!

A Merry Hello tags

These cute tags were made using the North Pole Wonder dies which just happen to be 30% off today until January 4, 2021 or while supplies last. What struck me is the first tag. The holly leaves look like die cuts but it is actually a stamp. The red holly berries are also from a die from the North Pole Wonder set. I have used these dies for my weekly YouTube live videos for my virtual coffee and a card class and I really love them and have heard nothing but great things about them from my participants.

Big Sale Today!

Today is the beginning of our best sale of the year (in my opinion!) You can get 20-50% off a lot of beautiful things in the holiday catalog. I just sent out my newsletter with my favourite deals as well as the suggestion to get the starter kit as your best deal ever! The newsletter is also shared on my business Facebook page The Pampered Stamper.

Giant Year End Close-Out sale

If you place an online order, be sure to use the current host code so that you can have a share in the free host rewards today. The more people that order online today, the more goodies there will be to share. Stay tuned!!

Thanks!

Thanks so much for joining me again today, I appreciate it when you read my blog. This blog is a way for us to connect and also to serve you better as a demonstrator. If what I write resonates with you and you live in Canada, I would love to be YOUR demonstrator. I hope you have a super day!

Dove of Hope W-Funfold Card

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I am going to share a Dove of Hope W-Funfold card. I made this card yesterday for my Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper group. Last week I got a great card with this fold from Lou Davis and I knew that I wanted to make one myself. The only idea I had in my head was to use the Dove of Hope bundle and that I wanted to keep the card about textures, not colours. The key to the look I was hoping for was the Plush Poinsettia specialty paper. I am super happy with how it turned out so I am going to share  some photos with you.

It’s All About the Textures

The dove of hope bundle has some great dies that also include embossed and cut out images that can be layered. When I think of doves I also think of hope and peace and this translates to white, possibly some bling and definitely texture. The panels on the inside of the w-fancyfold card are the perfect place to showcase all the beautiful images in this set. My colour palate was white and balmy blue with a hint of pool party. Let’s take a look.

For the front of the card I created a layered dove with our balmy blue glimmer paper and whisper white cardstock. Be sure to use a liquid adhesive to glue these layers together as glimmer paper doesn’t like our other adhesives. The background is our stunning Plush Poinsettia specialty paper. It can be best described as a velvet design on vellum which looks and feels great. The curvy white panel was popped up and die cut with the Curvy dies. Peace on Earth was embossed in silver.

The Inside of the W-Funfold Card

To make the “W” part all you need is a strip of thick white cardstock 1 3/4″ by 11″ scored at 2 3/4″, 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″. Add four panels and you are all set. I chose to keep the colours muted and to focus on the beautiful plush poinsettia paper and the blue glimmer paper. The doves are both embossed in silver and popped up.

Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper

I made this card yesterday in this private Facebook group. Each week I do a video tutorial there for a small monthly fee. It is only ten dollars a month which is way cheaper than a card class. Why would I do this? It might seem snooty and unfair to not just share with everyone. I understand. The fact is that sales are down considerably due to the lack of in person classes so this is a way for me to make some money and stay in business. It’s all fine and well to like people’s cards and creations but in the end for many of us it is a business, and if we don’t earn money then we have to go and find another job. I know of several SU demos who have had to do that. I don’t want to be one of them, so I thought I would explain my modus operandi here.

If you would also like to join this great group, you can, just click here. For this group I create one card ahead of time and then I make another card for the live video. I usually try to tweak it a little bit so that everyone has two options for the same card. Each week there is also a prize drawing and there is a monthly pdf tutorial as well. Here is my second card.

Less Than A Week Left

I have less than a week left here in Holland. How time flies when you are with the person you love! This time was completely different with very little “going” out except for necessary things like groceries and the occasional family visit. You may have noticed that there were significantly less pictures. COVID19 is also a big deal here except they call it Corona here. All around the world we are hoping for this to be the last hurrah of this nasty virus. I wil have one more YouTube live video here on Tuesday and then it will be back in Chatham. The neat thing is that with technology it doesn’t feel any different from your end!! For me the biggest challenge with keeping in touch is the time difference of six hours.

Thanks for joining me! I hope you have a super day and a fine weekend too. If you live in Canada and would like to shop with me online, I would of course love that! I will send you a free sixteen project pdf tutorial as a thankyou.
