Adorable Treat Holders for Surprises All Year Long

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I have a lot of fun ideas for you. First off are some adorable treat holders that you can use all year long to surprise and delight. This Merry Bold & Bright paper is super for a non-traditional Christmas but also for any fun occasion. I love versatile patterned paper! All you need is a 2 3/8″ circle punch and some strips of paper 3″ by 6″ scored at 2 3/4″ and 3 1/4″. Find some coordinating ribbon to make a fun handle and accessorize as desired.

Retro Christmas Lights Card

Not only is this set great for treat holders, it is also super fun for cards. I only had time to make one card, but I sure hope to make some more with the bright paper and fun dies.

Christmas card using the Dutch stamp set Stralende Kerst which is Merry & Bright in the Stampin'Up! holiday mini catalog.

I love that the words have white letters surrounded by a block of a colour. It’s almost like magic!! The bases for the Christmas lights are cut with dies. You can choose from an open die or a detailed die. Mine are made from adhesive backed silver and gold glimmer paper but I am afraid that it might be sold out at the moment. I sure hope it comes back in stock. The lesson in this is that when you see something super cute, order right away!!

Seeing is believing. Watch this video tutorial and learn not only how to make these adorable treat holders, but also a fun card with retro Christmas lights.

Fun Christmas Light Dies

I had a lot of fun stamping the retro Christmas light bulbs in various colours. It sure brought back memories of being a child and sorting through the replacement bulbs for just the right shade. My mom loved going to auction sales, so many of our strings of lights had a few missing bulbs. She also had lots of little boxes of replacement bulbs, with a mixture of clear and opaque bulbs. Oh the magic of Christmas lights!!

Merry & Bright has the best Christmas light dies to bring out your inner child!!

Cheer Corner “Roodborstje”

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am sharing a lovely “Roodborstje” (which is a European robin) card with you that I made for my Cheer Corner last week. There are two things that I think make this card super special. The first is the detail on the birch trees that have been added with a blender pen and a black watercolour pencil. Secondly, the European robin or “roodborstje” has been coloured with watercolour pencils and Blends! Watch my video for the trick to make it easier to blend your colours together!!

"Roodborstje" or Redbreast bird in a birch tree card using Aspen Tree dies and Perched in a Tree, all supplies Stampin'Up! designed by The Pampered Stamper.

Where is the greenery from??

The European robin, or roodborstje, looks quite natural perched in all this greenery. You may have various greenery already to choose from in your existing stash of stamps and dies, but this is what I used. You can thank me that all of the dies and the stamps for the greenery come from ONE bundle, Joy of Noel.  It’s a fantastic bundle. You might want to add it to your order on Wednesday when you take advantage of the seasonal sale saving 10-20% on inks, paper, cardstock and ribbon from the annual catalog. This stamp set isn’t on sale, but you may as well add something fun to all the essentials that you will be ordering at a discount. Remember, if your order gets to $200, you also get host benefits even if it is only you ordering. What fun!!

The benefits of bundles

When you order the Joy of Noel bundle you will save 10%. That is because it is a current bundle in the holiday catalog. Perched in a Tree, the stamp set that the roodborstje or European robin comes from was bundled last year with the Aspen dies. It got carried over to the annual catalog and now it is no longer a bundle. No more ten percent discount. That is why I always encourage my customers and team members to buy the bundles when they are first offered as such.

Seasonal Sale with Stampin'Up! November 14-16 2023 with discounts on paper, ink, cardstock and ribbon.

Saint Nicholas Easy Fancy Fold Christmas Card

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today I have an incredible Saint Nicholas easy fancy fold card for you. A fancy fold that is not difficult is really one of my favourite things!! Have you discovered the gorgeous Traditions of St NIck paper? It’s easy to miss because it isn’t in any of the Stampin’Up! catalogs. You can find it in the Online Exclusive section here.

My Easy Fancy Fold Card

The name of this fold is Twisted Easel Card. I made a video tutorial so you can see how easy it is. There are two cards that I made with this style. Which one is your favourite?

Twisted Easel Card made using Traditions of St Nick paper and Saint Nicholas stamp set and dies, all products Stampin'Up! designed by The Pampered Stamper.

Fancy Fold Laid Flat

This is what the twisted easel fold card looks like when it is laid flat to go into the envelope. Still adorable, right?? The sentiment is popped up inside, and this is what holds the twisted easel part upright.

Incredibly Detailed Dies

This last photo really shows the incredible detail of the dies. Combine it with the gorgeous Traditions of St Nick paper and you are in paper crafting heaven! Truthfully, I am not often one to fuss with little dies, but making this card was supremely satisfying. This would be a great card to make with a group of friends. You could all take turns die cutting and then once you have a pile of different die cuts made you can get creative and play.

I do have an easier card to share as well. The paper does all the work for this card.

Vintage embossed card made using Traditions of St Nick paper and Saint Nicholas stamp set and dies, all products Stampin'Up! designed by The Pampered Stamper.

The card above uses Misty Moonlight for the sentiment, but I also did it with a Crumb Cake sentiment which I actually liked better! I used the Nested Essential dies to cut out the sentiment. The stitched detail is just so pretty!

Warmest Heart: Thermos of Coffee Anyone?

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I am sharing Warmest Heart with you. I don’t think it is the most popular bundle in the holiday catalog from Stampin’Up! but it sure caught my eye. As soon as I saw the thermos stamps and dies, I thought of Pap. I grew up on a farm and we often brought him his lunch and a thermos of coffee to the field. Dutch people LOVE their coffee, so this was liquid gold for him. As a child, it felt so good to be able to do something for him knowing he was working so hard for all of us. Do you have any thermos stories??

Warmest Heart Thermos Cards

Here are the cards that I made with this set so far. One is definitely in the colours that remind me of my Pap. He died last year at the beautiful age of 95 and I was blessed to be by his side. I still think of him with fond memories every single day. The second card is cased from the catalog and is in more retro colours.

Warmest Heart really does warm my heart with its retro thermos images and dies that remind of my farmer father "Pap".

A Retro Touch for the Warmest Heart Thermos

The more retro card below uses Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Petal Pink. The cardstock is Lost Lagoon and perhaps I could have used that instead of Pool Party too, but I rather like the colour combination.

Here’s a shot of the inside of the card. I “took the party inside”.

For the thermos cap I used the die with our Silver adhesive backed glimmer paper. It’s really awesome for the little details.

This is what Wendy Lee, a talented demonstrator from the USA, said about this bundle:

“Make a cozy cup of something special to share with your friends with this fun bundle. Create Thank You, Get Well Soon, winter, or adventure cards (or even cards just because!). Use the insulated bottle dies and stamp on a few sticker accessories to personalize each craft. Or stamp the plaid pattern on your die-cut insulated bottles to create a matching set. Don’t forget to accessorize to add even more dimension to your already unique drink carriers. And have fun!!”

Here is a video tutorial that I did for this set. Enjoy!!

Winter Meadow

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Mine ended with a phenomenal Christian concert called Young Messiah. I had never heard of it before, but I love anything to do with Handel’s Messiah. Fun fact about me. I once joined a choir just so I could sing in this beautiful oratorio. Every minute of it was just wonderful and now I am listening to it on Spotify as I write this blog post. SEO analytics will tell me to put the key word in the first sentence, but I am rebelling a bit. The blog post today is about Winter Meadow, which is a stunning designer series paper from Stampin’Up!

Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper

Do you know why our patterned paper is called Designer Series Paper? It is because there are actually in house artists, or designers, that create this beautiful paper. It is often referred to by its shortform, dsp. Just one of the many things that give Stampin’Up! its own lingo. Newbies can be confounded with all the terminology including the two word colour names! My cards use primarily Bojo Blue, Misty Moonlight and Basic White. If you want to see how I made the card below, please check out this YouTube video.

Winter Meadow Sympathy card with Dutch sentiment from Autumn Wishes or Herfstwensen.

The card above uses the Dutch version of Autumn Wishes called Herfstwensen. I added a layer of torn vellum behind the Bojo Blue cardstock to soften up the patterned paper and also to symbolize the tearing away of a life, of a loved one. The pearls were coloured with Bojo Blue Blends, which is a great trick to coordinate your gems with your patterned paper or cardstock.

Dutch stamp set Herfstwensen a beautiful fall and sympathy stamp set from Stampin'Up!

Magical Meadow card with Silver Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper

Same Layout, Different Paper

I also made this card using our lovely All Autumn Autumn paper which is now back in stock. You can see that video here. Here is a closeup of the card, just enough so you can see how beautiful the paper is.

Fractured card made with All About Autumn paper and Gold and SIlver Adhesive backed paper, all products Stampin'Up!

My Tutorial and Other Great Fall Card Tutorials!

I participated in a blog hop with the Dreamgirls Dutch team from Maaike deRidder-Sack. What an honour!! You can check out it below.

My Last Winter Meadow Card

This card was inspired by a card sample in the holiday mini catalog. You can find the card that inspired me on page 36, top left.

Winter Meadow paper with Regal Reindeer dies, Deckled Circle dies and Nested Essential Dies.

I forgot to add the Deckled Circle Dies and the Nested Essentials dies to the supply list but they are essential to the card above. Both are fantastic and highly recommended. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I still want to urge you to take advantage of the starter kit. It really is the BEST deal ever. You can put $165 worth of products in your kit and you pay only $135. NO shipping and no tax in most of the provinces. Super great deal. Plus you get to be on my team!! How amazing is that? No need to do what I do, that’s for sure.

Here you can see how the card above was made and also see each of the stamps and dies in the Magical Meadow bundle.

Thanks!

Thanks for joining me today, I really appreciate you! I hope that I have inspired you today. Happy stamping, and remember, together we CAN change the world, one card at a time. Hugs from Holland.
