Give it a Whirl Dies

Give it a Whirl Dies:  More than you Think!!

Happy Monday stampers. Give it a Whirl dies are another hidden gem from the annual catalog. Not only do they make it super easy to make many styles of an interactive card with a “spin the wheel” feature, they also have lots of adorable stitched dies to use on all your cards!! Let me tell you a secret. I originally bought these dies just for these additional dies. I particularly wanted the stitched clouds!!

I got the idea for this card from my British up-upline Michelle Last. What a great idea to use the Let’s Chat stamp set for this type of card.

The “extra” dies

Let’s take a look at the “extra” dies in the Give it a Whirl dies set. My favourites are the stitched hearts and the stitched clouds, but you can also use the “mechanism” opening dies as peekaboo windows.

Getting the kitty-cat just right was a little tricky, so take a look at the back of the card to see how I did it.

Be still my heart!!! The Bee Mine suite is SO stinkin’ adorable. I am all pumped for my Fourteen Days of Love. Join me as I made an adorable project every day from February 1 to 14. If you want to create along with me you will need to purchase the following supplies:

  1. Bee Mine Suite
  2. Black gingham ribbon
  3. Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and memento black ink pads.
  4. Deckle Circles dies

More Than Just Cards

Here is a cute little home decor piece that I made with the Bee Mine Suite.  I used a frame that I already had on hand. The opening for this frame is 4″ square, but what you see is only 3 1/2″ square. What an adorable way to show your people that you love them?

I got the idea for Fourteen Days of Love from fellow demonstrator Darla Watson. These Bee Mine projects below were all inspired by her tutorial. I changed things around a bit but her tutorial was super helpful. Stay tuned as I plan to make my own tutorial as well!!

Flight & Airy

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I am going to share with you a gorgeous card that I made using the Flight & Airy paper. This paper is one of the free saleabration offerings that you can choose from starting on January 4. I have had so much fun playing with it but today I am only going to share one card. If you want to see more, be sure to check out my “shorts” section on my YouTube channel. The video with all the cards will be up on Friday. We will be making ALL of those cards at my Cozy Cabin Winter Retreat from January 2-4 in New Hamburg, Ontario. I still have room for one more person if you are interested!!

Flight & Airy Card

This card is called “Bird’s Eye View”. You will see why, I think!

PDF Tutorial

Tomorrow I hope to write a pdf tutorial for the cards that we will be making at my retreat. When it is finished, I will put in the tutorial section of my blog so you can purchase it there. Are you looking forward to saleabration as much as I am??

In the Air!!

This card is also quite fitting, as I will be in the air tomorrow as well. I’m flying back to Canada for almost four weeks without Gerard. He needs to be in the greenhouse tending to his flowers and bulbs. I am excited to see my mom, my kids and grandkids and of course my team and my customers and my friends. Phew!! I need to take a breath after that long sentence. Besides the retreat I am also offering a Bingo class, both in person and online. As I write this, I realize that I have not marketed that enough yet, it only went into one newsletter!! Life is busy, especially at this time of the year.

I hope to see you while I’m in Canada, either at the retreat, in a class or in a Zoom class! Hugs from Holland and Happy New Year if I don’t get a chance to blog again before that. Thanks for being here.

Blunders can be fixed or minimized.

Stars at Night Ornaments

Hello stampers and happy Saturday to you. Yes, I am catching up on my blog posts or these Christmas projects will no longer be relevant!! Today I used the Stars at Night Hybrid embossing folder and the deckled circle dies to make a beautiful Christmas ornament.

Use your deckled circle dies and Stars at Night hybrid embossing folder to make this stunning ornament.

The Catalog as Inspiration for my Stars at Night Ornament

I used the catalog for my inspiration for this ornament. The Stampin’Up! designers used a gold metal circle purchased from Amazon, but I didn’t have these, so I improvised. If you sandwich two deckled circles together with the cording in between you get a lovely and relatively sturdy ornament. Also much cheaper!!

Deckled Circle Dies Christmas Card

Happy Friday stampers! Can you believe that I made these cards in September and am finally posting them now?? Deckled Circle dies are really a fantastic addition to your stack. Do you know why? There are 14 of them and the largest one makes for a very lovely and large card, just shy of six inches!!

Read on to find out how I got these layers, it’s much easier than it looks.

Deckled Circle dies and Graceful deer for a stunning Christmas card, all supplies Stampin'Up! designed by The Pampered Stamper.

Lots of Layers with Deckled Circle Dies

Stamp your image on a six inch square piece of very vanilla cardstock. Cut out by layering on three circle dies (second largest, fourth largest and sixth largest) Fold a piece of Early Espresso cardstock in half. Place the  largest circle die so that the top of it is beyond the fold line. You will see open space. Then run it through your die cutting machine. You will have a circular card base. Using the third and fifth largest dies, cut out Shaded Spruce circles.

Adhere your largest stamped circle on the Early Espresso card base, then the Shaded Spruce layer, then the next stamped circle….repeat. Embellish with some die cuts from Joy of Noel. I used some retired red glimmer paper for the holly berries.

Deckled Circle dies and Graceful deer for a stunning Christmas card, all supplies Stampin'Up! designed by The Pampered Stamper.

For the inside of the card I just stamped part of the Graceful Deer image in Pecan Pie along the right edge. Making spirits bright was stamped in Real Red.

Video Tutorial

Watching the video is much easier that figuring out the written instructions. I had forgotten that I had a video for this otherwise I wouldn’t have written out the instructions. Is that lazy or is that smart? Which way of learning do you prefer?

How is your December going?
