Two Minute Paper Miracle

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I have a two minute paper miracle for you. If you have been following me for a while you may already know that my favourite things are ones that combine beauty, ease and speed. When those three things come together it make me a very happy squirrel. Paper crafting can be intricate and detailed sometimes, and beautiful things will happen but most people are short on time and patience so two minute paper miracles are wonderful! Let’s take a look at what I am talking about.

Two Minute Paper Miracle

This two minute paper miracle is brought to you with the cracker & treat box dies. I love Christmas crackers but I have never made them and seldom have I bought them. Usually they are overpriced and are filled with junk. When I saw this one in the new annual Stampin’Up! catalog I thought, here’s my chance! It is even easier to use than I had anticipated. Trust me, I am not exaggerating when I say that you can do it in two minutes. I will share both a photo with you as well as a video tutorial.

Why So Thrilled?

Why am I so thrilled with these cracker & treat box dies? Not only are they super cute and fast to make, they also work very well with our patterned paper. The dies do not cause the paper to tear, they give just the right score lines. You can also close them by simply pulling the twine tightly around them. No fussy folding required. It really is a miracle!! I can see that with something this simple, ordinary days are going to be turned into extraordinary ones. This project will also help you with your burgeoning amount of patterned paper, so you can #loveitchopit.

Video Tutorial

Here is the video tutorial so you can see how I made these cracker & treat boxes with the Rings of Love patterned paper. This paper will be free with a $60 purchase when saleabration starts on July 1. Summer saleabration is in effect from July 1 until August 31.

Thanks for joining me today. If you want to help grow this stamping community you can pin my projects to Pinterest or share them with your friends on Facebook. Dragonfly Garden: The Magic of Mist

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am sharing a card that I call Dragonfly Garden:  The Magic of Mist. Truth be told there was a reason this stamp set had not seen ink for almost a year! I didn’t love it, largely because of the patterned paper that was included in the suite. It didn’t appeal to me, so this bundle sat on the shelf. Today it has been transformed and I like a lot more!! Simply by adding a little mist, these stamps were softened and transformed into a work of art that I love. Let’s take a look.

Dragonfly Dreams

For this card I used two very important products: the stamparatus and shimmery white  cardstock. Without those two things you will have limited success. I Inked up the floral image with retiring In Colour Stampin’ Write Markers:  Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider and Magenta Madness.  Before stamping I would lightly mist or spritz the inked stamp. Be sure to wipe off with your shammy in between inking up again and stamping multiple times.

Dragonfly Garden card

I did end up using the grass stamp from Wildflower Path to fill in the bottom of my scene. Did you notice that I used all the retiring In Colours? This was a happy coincidence but also a timely reminder to check your supplies in these colours. Make sure you have enough cardstock and ink refills and of course the markers!

Video Tutorial

I love watching a video to see how a card is made, it is much easier than reading a written description. Be sure to click on the left hand corner of the video that says “watch on YouTube”.

No Blog on Monday!

Since I will not be blogging on Monday as it is March Break and the littles will have moved in with me, I am going to make this an extra long blog post. I want to share some similar cards also using Wildflower Path. For these cards I did not use “the magic of mist” but I did use my stamparatus!! I used grid paper to create a heart mask. My exclusive video tutorial for these cards is on my Prime Time group. This is a very affordable private group that you are welcome to join! It’s only $10 a month, the price of a fancy drink and a treat. You also get a free monthly 16 project pdf tutorial that is worth $20 so you are getting double the value and then some for your investment. I must be crazy!! Click here to join.

Heart Mask Collage Stamping

Wildflower Path Heart collage

For my flowers I used the following markers: highland heather, daffodil delight, polished pink and gorgeous grape. The leaves and stems were stamped in pear pizzazz. The question is, do we like it better plain or with a sentiment?

Masked Heart collage using Wildflower Path from Stampin'Up!

Here you can see the card with two different sentiments. The long skinny one is from Waves of the Ocean. The die from the other card is also from Waves of the Ocean bundle.

A Little Addicted!

I think I may be a little addicted to this technique. A special thanks to Gez Carpenter for sharing this on the Demonstrator Planning Place on Facebook. You can find her blog here.

I made this last card using a very beloved stamp, Free as a Bird. What do you think? This time I used Pool Party and Balmy Blue Blends to colour the birds.

Thank you!

That’s it for today, it should give you lots of ideas for inspiration. I hope you have a super day and don’t forget to get the great deal on the mini die cutting machine! I used it last night to do some embossing and it was such a pleasure to work with. (just a heads up the natural tones Blends are backordered until April 4- bummer!)

Grassy Grove: Elegant Simplicity

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today my post features Grassy Grove. I am on a simple kick lately. Beautiful cards can be simple. Often they are even more beautiful due to their simplicity. These cards fit the bill. Let’s take a look shall we?

Grassy Grove Cards

The Grassy Grove bundle includes a stamp set with beautiful words and images as well as dies to take your breath away!! When you combine the stamps and dies with the New Horizons paper it doesn’t take much to make a stunning card.

Grassy Grove and New Horizons cards

I made these cards in my Stamping Through My Stash weekly video. The card at the  top was made as a result of many mistakes. I am sure you never make any mistakes stamping, but you can live vicariously through me!!

Grassy Grove bundle cards

I think these cards would be particularly suited for sympathy cards or thinking of you. They evoke calm and peace. Trust me when I say that they are even nicer in person.

Grassy Grove silhouette sunrise card

This last card is made by layering two die cuts over each other for a shadow effect. Evening Evergreen is layered slightly offset over Soft Succulent.

New Horizons Scenic Paper

I find that it is always hard to see how beautiful our paper is in the catalog. I took some pictures as well so you have a better look. If you like it, trust me, when you get it you will LOVE it!! The first picture is of the inside of my “mistake-filled” card.

Simply Marbleous

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. Today’s cards feature the beautiful “Simply Marbleous” paper that you can get for FREE during saleabration which goes until February 28, 2022. One of side of the lovely paper has a delicate marble look and the other has a bolder marble streak in it. I think that you will find that this paper is particularly suited to monochromatic cards. Let’s take a look.

Simply Marbleous Paper

Marbleous is not actually a word, but Stampin’Up! seems to like using interesting adjectives in their product descriptions. Nonetheless, the paper is fabulous!! I paired it with another wonderful saleabration stamp set called Calming Camelia. This is a host exclusive set which you can get for free is you have a $375 workshop. If you think about it, all you need is four people each spending less than $100 and then one of you will get this set. With a $60 order you can also get the Simply Marbleous paper for free as well.

Chance to Win

COVID makes it difficult if not impossible to have in person classes and clubs, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have stamping fun. If you place an online order this week you could win the Calming Camelia stamp set. Each person that orders will also get a Simply Marbleous paper sampler in the mail as well. Just use the host code below.

Simply Marbleous Cards

Here you can see two of the Simply Marbleous cards that I have made this week. One is with Bumblebee and the other with Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. I totally cased the Bumblebee card from my team member Kathy Burke. The Ornate Layers dies were also specially ordered so that I could make this card. No other die would do.

Bumble Bee Calming Camelia card

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

I did a video tutorial yesterday with this card in my exclusive Prime Time With the Pampered Stamper group. Curious as to how you can be.a part of this group? Click here and see what it entails.

Gorgeous Grape and White Craft Ink Refill Card

This Gorgeous Grape card has a slight twist. I used the white craft ink refill to colour my Calming Camelia flowers.  On February 2 I will do a video showing this technique in my Global Monthly Video Hop Group. Perhaps you can join me?

Gorgeous Grape Calming Camelia card

If you have a sharp eye you will notice that the dimensions for this card seem different. They are!! This is a European sized card using A4 cardstock. It is longer and narrower than our cardstock in North America. This card is 29.7cm by 10.5 cm scored at 14.9cm. The Gorgeous Grape layer is 13.9 cm by 9.5cm and the Simply Marbleous Paper is 13.6cm by 9.2cm. I was hoping to make this card with my Dutch girls at Koffie en één Kaart Klas today. That couldn’t happen because I tested positive for COVID19. Thankfully I am not super sick, I am writing this blog post after all and will do a video this afternoon for my Training Group.

Next Monday

Next Monday I will be featuring more Happy Mail in Holland with a beautiful card from Chris Margrie. She used the Faux Chalkboard technique that I shared a few years ago on YouTube and also in this blog post. You might want to try it to before Monday!

If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used today AND get in on the draw for Calming Camelia, then just click on the links below. If you live in Europe you can shop with me here.

Have a super day!!
