Pansy Patch Easel-Fold Card

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I have a Pansy Patch Easel-Fold card for you. Do you want to hear the story of how this card came to be? Maybe you already know because you joined me for my YouTube and Facebook live at 10am yesterday. Let me tell you the story.

When Bad Things Happen

Here is a glimpse behind the scenes. Yesterday was my youngest daughter Rachel’s birthday. I am in Holland and she is in Canada and there is a 6 hour time difference. She misses Mama Bear so of course she called me when she woke up at 9am. That means it was 3pm here, one hour before my live video. We chatted for 45 minutes and then I said, I have to go, to get ready for my live video.

Upstairs I go, quite confident in my ManyCam abilities now. I already had my card materials ready, so it was just a matter of setting up the live stream. This all went really well and I could see that my microphone was working. I had my laptop off to the side so that I could see your comments. That didn’t work so well this time but since I could see my microphone working just fine, I thought I would catch up with the comments later. Big mistake.

Apparently the sound conked out after you were treated to the sound of the frogs copulating in the pond outside!! You should have heard me when I saw the first comments after the video had ended!! I said something like this:  “You mean they could hear those blasted frogs and not me!! Arggghhhh!!” Then my screen also froze. Gerard did a speed test and apparently the internet connection was fine. Must have been the technology gremlins having fun.

The Response

The reason I was so upset that it didn’t work is that I was in such a good flow. While the card was being made ever so nicely I had a great dialogue going, telling you all about how the virtual coffee and a card class started and how a demo’s brain works when they are planning events. Then it was all for nought!!!

Gerard says, don’t give up, just make it again. I moaned, I can’t!! I don’t have any more Sweet Ice Cream supplies. You see, I only took the card kits with me just like the ones my subscribers get. Deep breaths. There must be a solution. There was. I cased my own card using different stamps and paper and this was the result.

Why Does This Make Me Happy?

The biggest win in this situation is that people can see that they can participate in my video tutorials even if they don’t have any of the supplies that I am using. As long as you have some basic cardstock and patterned paper and some stamps you CAN create along with me. My advice is to first watch the video and then watch again with your supplies ready to go. You can pause me whenever you want and catch up with your own card making. I would love to see what you make!!

A Few More Pictures

Pansy Patch is really a lovely suite. The patterned paper has both florals and gingham as well as some leaves and pansy bouquets that you can cut out. I used the dies to cut out the individual pansies. Gorgeous!! The new in colour gems are a perfect match too. They are currently on back order so you will have to wait a while to get them.

If you want to subscribe to my virtual coffee and a card class, you can do so here.

The Original Card

Do you want to see what the original card was from my Sweet Ice Cream Virtual Coffee and a Card class? I had to steal the ribbon from it to finish the pansy card! That reminds me of what I sometimes had to do when I was first a demonstrator and did workshops in people’s homes! No matter how hard I tried to be organized I would always forget some product. To improvise and make the class possible I sometimes had to take apart my card samples to glean enough supplies!!

Easel-Fold Card

Unfortunately the Sweet Ice Cream bundle is back ordered until the end of May. I would strongly advise getting the paper before it is gone. The mini catalog is supposed to be “live” until the end of June but supplies are only available while supplies last. We can be upset about that, but it happens all the time in the real world. I had found an amazing pair of shoes but alas, no longer available in my size.

Thank You!!!

Once again I want to thank you for all your support and encouragement. What a wonderful stamping community we have. Just like the card says, I truly appreciate all the little things you do.

Join My Team!

My heart is with my Beyond Pampered Team. What a wonderful group of stampers we have and it is growing across the country. There has never been a better time to join. From now until the end of May there is significant added value to the starter kit and by getting the kit you also get your own personal 20% discount.

The kit is $135 with no shipping or tax. You can put any products you want in it except for host sets. The best part is that you get to choose a whopping $208 worth of products. I have to admit, I got the starter kit myself in the Netherlands so that I could get the ink pads and the  in colour ribbon that I didn’t have here. If you want to join, just click here.

I hope you have a super day!!

Handsomely Suited Waterfall Card

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I am going to share a Handsomely Suited Waterfall card with you. I first shared this card in my Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper group with a rather funny video. In typical squirrel fashion the card went seriously wrong, but I got it fixed and everyone got to see how NOT to do a waterfall card.

Handsomely Suited Waterfall Card

I won’t be sharing the video tutorial here since it is exclusive to Prime Time, but I will be doing a different waterfall card for my June virtual Coffee and a Card class. There are still a few spots left if you want one. Kits will be mailed out next week!

If you want to join Prime Time, this is the best time to do so. I have just committed to posting more exclusive content there including travel videos and photos. My Prime TIme people have been with me and supported me when COVID first crippled my in person business and I very much appreciate that.

Waterfall Mechanism

When I first had the idea to do this type of card I wondered whether or not the tie would make it “around”. It does!! This card is best appreciated when you see it in action, so here is a short video.

I’m not sure if the format of this video will actually work but I’m sure you will let me know what it looks like on your device. The one thing to remember when making a waterfall card is that your layers must be firmly adhered so that the edges don’t catch when you activate the waterfall mechanism. Here is a link to a tutorial that I used as a start for this card.

Join Me on June 1

On June 1 at 10am EST I will making another waterfall card featuring the Berry Blessings paper. This will be the first card for my June Virtual Coffee and a Card class. There are still a few kits available for $25 including shipping anywhere in Canada. This month you will get five cards, four of which are fancy folds. I am also going to write a tutorial so this will be another option to join in on the fun!

The Best News

On Friday I shared on social media that Gerard and I are engaged! Such happy news and so happy to be able to share with you all. We first met at my cousin’s birthday party here in Holland when I was visiting. I was 17. We wrote letters for a year and he visited me in Elora for two weeks. With no internet back then and slow mail and different plans we decided to break up. Fast forward more than thirty years and we reconnected when he heard that my marriage was over.

What a delight to discover that we were even more in love than we were as teenagers! Due to COVID we do not yet have a firm date in mind for the wedding and not even a definite place as that depends on my parents health. We are leaning towards Chatham in either June or September of next year.

This was just a fun selfie that we took at the beach. He proposed with dozens of roses and champagne right at home! I was in shock as it all happened so fast. Maybe you saw the photos of the champagne and the roses. I couldn’t say anything yet then because not of all our kids and family and friends knew yet. The outpouring of love on Facebook is amazing! Thanks so much for all your words of congratulations and kindness.

The Pampered Stamper Will Stay in Business!

In case you are worried, my business as The Pampered Stamper will continue. I have a great assistant on the other side of the ocean and she may just be working more hours for me. Planning times for online classes might be a little tricky but that’s ok. COVID has been a blessing forcing me to do my business totally online. There will still be lots of trips across the ocean to see my family and to keep things organized  for my business.

Thanks for joining me today and have a super day.

So Much Excitement!!

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. There is so much excitement today that I hardly know where to start. Too much stimulation for this squirrel!! Let’s start with the amazing deal on Paper Pumpkin that starts (and may possibly end) today. Then we’ll talk about the amazing deal on the starter kit.

Paper Pumpkin Deal

This deal is only available while supplies last, so I would jump on it if I were you. When you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin today you pay only $7 instead of $30 plus tax. This deal is for new subscribers only but you can also find a way around that by using a different email address if you have subscribed in the past. To get the deal you need to use the special deal code HOMERUN0521. This deal is not available with prepaid subscriptions.

The best part of this besides the price is that you can cancel at any time. You are not locked into a subscription. You can also skip a month whenever you want to. Just log into your account to do that before the 11th of the month. If you think that the upcoming kit will make a great gift you can also choose to have more than one kit sent to you.

Paper Pumpkin deal

As you can see from the graphic, you only have three days to get this deal if it doesn’t sell out before then.

More Amazing Kits

One of the reasons that some people choose not to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin is that there is usually no way of knowing what is going to be in the kit. Sometimes we get a teaser as to colour or theme, but the actual kit contents are a surprise. Stampin’Up! has now revamped its kit collection. They are now all the same price and have the same packaging. I am thrilled that some of these kits are Past Paper Pumpkins. The price is $26 and includes a stamp set, an ink spot and an acrylic block plus glue dots and dimensionals and any accessories you might need.

These kits will be available to order on June 1 and you know what that means? It means that you can also take advantage of the extra host rewards. I will share which kits are available and then you can show your friends. Pick a kit and we can do a virtual stamping party. With a $300 workshop you will get $60 in host products. Sweet deal right??

My Favourite Kit

You should have heard me squeal with delight when I saw that No Matter The Weather was one of the kits in the lineup. I had many disappointed people who missed out on this kit. The last Wednesday of the month will be my kit class and this will be the first kit I will be featuring. I will create an event on Facebook and then you can order the kit on June 1 and join me for some fun stamping on June 30 at 7:15pm.

No Matter The Weather

Here you can see what all comes in this lovely kit!! I am so, so excited to stamp with you using this kit. I really hope that if you are a beginner stamper that you take the plunge. Truly, you don’t know what you are missing until you ink up a stamp and put it to paper. Instant artistry! For me that was a powerful and transforming moment and I would love for you to experience that too. Tell your friends and have them join you (and me!) for a fun evening.

Brand New Catalog Product Shares

One of the best ways to get new product without breaking the bank is with a product share. That way you get a little bit of everything. For my paper share I simply chop the 12 x 12 paper into four sections, so you get a 6 x 6 inch piece of each of the designer series paper that is in the new catalog. Cost is only $60 for porch pickup or a small shipping fee will be added to ship anywhere in Canada.

For my ribbon share you have two options. You can either get a yard of ALL the ribbon and twine in the new catalog for $43 or you can get just the NEW ribbon and twine, a yard of each for $20. If you need it shipped there will be a shipping charge, the cheapest rate I can find of course. You can sign up on the Facebook event page here.

Amazing Deal on the Starter Kit

Over my fifteen years as a Canadian demonstrator I have built up a very fun team. We gather often with Zoom, every week when I am in Canada and a little less often when I am with Gerard in Holland because of the six hour time difference. There are weekly stamping challenges and I also offer my team members a free pdf tutorial every month, weekly training videos on Friday at noon and weekly video tutorials on my Prime Time With The Pampered Stamper group.

Why am I telling you all of this? Because there is an amazing deal on the starter kit right now and I would love for you to get it and by doing so join my team. The 20% discount that you will get is only the icing on the cake. Belonging to a tight knit supportive team is truly amazing! There is a spot on the Beyond Pampered team waiting just for YOU.

Do you want to hear about the deal? As always the starter kit is $135. You get to choose whatever products you want to put in your kit. The best part? You get to choose $206 worth of products plus you pay no shipping or tax. Wow!!!! Basically you are getting $256 worth of products for only $135. Here is the link to get started on this exciting venture.

A Lot to Think About

I know that I have given you a lot to think about in this blog post. The most important thing is that you are happy. I hope that you are still finding time to stamp and that you are using your hobby to also bring joy to others. Hopefully you can join me for one of my classes, be it a kit class, my Bingo night or a paper or ribbon share. There are still a few spots left in the June virtual coffee and a card class, so let me know if you want in on any of these.

Thanks for joining me, I hope you have a super day.

Liberation Day

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday. Today there will be no “real” blog post. In a short while we will be getting in the car and driving two hours north to Holten which is the site of a huge war cemetery honouring Canadian soldiers. Today it is the 77th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands. Due to COVID19 there is still no official celebration which is so sad.

Liberation Day in Holten

I am going to see what the opportunities are for giving out cards and books to veterans and their families. Two years ago you joined me in a poppy campaign and made cards with our poppy stamp sets and I even bought a bunch of notebooks so that people could write their stories and share them with other survivors. Sadly I did not remember to take those with me. I really didn’t think there would be an opportunity to give them to the right people so today will be a sleuthing mission.

If you want to see what I had intended to give, check out this blog post.

It looks like the visitor information centre is not open due to COVID19 but here is their website if you want to check it out.

Mindful Gratitude

I am so blessed to be able to be in Holland with Gerard and have relative freedom to travel within the country. Last night we watched the Dutch movie “Soldaat van Oranje” which is based on a true story about a Dutch university student who joined the resistance and fled to England across the Channel so that he could become a pilot for the Allies It was a powerful reminder of what people went through in occupied Holland. Today I will be especially mindful and grateful that we live in peace. Here is another blog post that I hope you will read on this subject.

A fellow Dutch demonstrator sent me this. Thank you Angelique Aupperlee. It translates as such:  We who live honour the dead who honoured us with their lives.”

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you have a super day and take a few moments to be truly grateful for your freedom. I know that with a COVID lockdown it doesn’t feel very free but it is still so much better than what our ancestors had to deal with.

Sweet Strawberry Virtual Class

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you all! Today I am sharing with you my Sweet Strawberry Virtual Coffee and a Card class for June. Are you impressed? I am way ahead of the game which is totally unusual for me. Tomorrow we start with the May Virtual Coffee and a Card Class. Are you planning to join me?

Sweet Strawberry Virtual Coffee and a Card Class

I wanted to introduce this class early to give you lots of time to sign up for it. There will be limited space available because I am using the beautiful Berry Blessings paper that was only available during saleabration and I only have limited supplies of it.

June has five Tuesdays so this virtual coffee and a card class has a little more bang for your buck. What is even nicer is that it coincides with the brand new Create With Us International Tutorial bundle which also features the Sweet Strawberry bundle. I just love it when you get a lot of inspiration for your stamping supplies. It just feels better when you get lots of use from what you buy.

If you order the Sweet Strawberry bundle and you order the Virtual Coffee and a Card class that will get you the Create With Us International tutorial bundle for FREE! That means 14 tutorials all featuring this bundle.

Sweet Strawberry Cards

Here is a photo of all the cards that you will be making with me in June. Four of the five cards are fancy folds: a waterfall card, a pocket card, a joy fold card and a z-fold card.
