To A Wild Rose Happy Easter Card

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. On this Good Friday I have a Happy Easter card for you. I used the retiring stamp set To A Wild Rose as well as the Word Wishes dies. This card was built around the word “blessed” from To A Wild Rose. Both the font and the size of this word and the other sentiments in this set are really nice and versatile.

Happy Easter

Here in southern Ontario we are heading into another lockdown situation so that is unfortunate. Thankfully the weather is getting nicer which makes it really lovely to be outside. Spring flowers and green grass give renewed hope. Of course, Good Friday and Easter Sunday give the most hope of all. I cannot imagine my life without knowing Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. That is why I made this card to share with you today! I hope you like it.

If you want to see another lovely To A Wild Rose card that I made last year, then check out this blog post for another great technique and pretty colour combination. Here is one more blog post featuring To A Wild Rose. This makes me quite happy because I was feeling a bit guilty that I hadn’t used this stamp set enough!

Z-Fold Card

My Blessed Easter card is a z-fold card made with a base of thick basic white 4 1/4″ by 11″ scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. The  front panel was run through the die cutting machine with the Painted Textures embossing folder. It measures 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″. All my flowers were stamped in daffodil delight and the leaves are pear pizzazz. All dies used except for the word Easter are from the To A Wild Rose bundle. “Easter” comes from the Word Wishes dies. I have another blog post that also uses the Word Wishes dies. Check it out here.

Guided Tour of Retiring Items

I made a video showing the retiring items from the annual and mini catalogs. You can see it here but you would be wise to skip through the first two minutes as I have some technical issues with sound.

The benefit from watching this video is that I share my favourite things that I would not want my stamp room to be without. As much as I use  the annual catalog throughout the year, I am amazed at how much I overlook until the Last Chance list is announced.

Thank You!

Thanks so much for joining me today and a special thank you for supporting me throughout the last week as I battled technological challenges. Several times I was live on either YouTube or Facebook either not knowing it or doing it very wrong!! Your support and encouragement is heartwarming. What a wonderful stamping community I have. Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend, I hope you get to see some family and friends but above all that you feel the love of Jesus.

Baby Shark

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Baby Shark is the focus of my blog post today. I have to be honest with you. If I wasn’t an oma, I might not have purchased this set. A few months ago when I was having an oma day I saw how excited Ana and Leo were singing and dancing to this song. Baby Shark is retiring, so I would advise you to get it before it’s gone.

What Do I Like About Baby Shark?

When I finally inked up this stamp set and played with the coordinating dies I was pleasantly surprised. The dies are wonderful!! My favourite is the seaweed dies that layer together for great detail. There are also fun dies for waves and bubbles and of course accessories for the shark family. Unfortunately the Whale of a Time paper is already sold out. Funny thing! I just realized that this set isn’t even called Baby Shark, it is called Shark Frenzy. Baby Shark sounds a lot more friendly!!

Baby Shark

Another great feature of this stamp set is all the sayings in that wonderful font. I think it would be great for scrapbooking as well. Maybe you noticed that my card looks a little bigger than usual. You’re right! I used a large Memories & More card which measures 4 1/4″ by 6 1/4″. This size is just great when you want to show off your patterned paper which measures 4″ by 6″. That means you would get 6 card fronts out of a 12X12 sheet of paper or one from a 6″ x 6″ with a 2″ strip left over for a tag or border.

Baby Shark

In this picture you can see the great detail in the layering seaweed as well as the bubble outlines. Do you see the cute tie on baby shark? I used liquid multipurpose glue and a sponge to adhere the bubbles and the tie. Our sponges are retiring AND they are on sale right now, so be sure to stock up on this staple. Just click on the links below in the supply list to shop online with me.

Another Great Set for Grandparents

Did you know that I have now been a Stampin’Up! demonstrator for fifteen years? How time flies. Over the years I have noticed that line images for colouring always keep their value. There is still one set that I regret selling, so now I make sure I have every set that is made like this. I am talking about Treasures of Life. It will NOT be in the annual catalog, so be sure to grab it while you can. Afterwards you will be paying an arm and a leg on EBay!!

Virtual Coffee and a Card kits

Just a heads up that I have only three kits left for the Hydrangea Hill virtual coffee and a card classes for April. You can join me every Tuesday on YouTube at 10am for a card tutorial. This month’s kit features a bonus template from the Many Messages bundle so you will have LOTS of sentiments to use on your cards. The die cuts are all blank since I cannot include stamped images, but I included the template so that you can use your Stamparatus to stamp whichever sentiments you want. Kits are $25 shipped anywhere in Canada.

Thanks for joining me today, I appreciate your “visits” and I absolutely love it when you take the time to comment. I hope you have a super day.

Stamping Together By Mail

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Stamping together by mail has a bit of an old-fashioned ring to it doesn’t it? To me it sounds a little bit like pen pals with a twist. Is COVID distancing affecting you? Do you wish you could stamp with other people? Every month I send out a card kit so that you can stamp with me each Tuesday on YouTube live. I am very close to figuring out how to stream to both YouTube and Facebook at the same time so that will make it even more fun and accessible. This month the theme is Hydrangea Hill.

Stamping Together By Mail

Last week I shared the first card in this series and you can see it here. Today I am sharing the second card. I used the Quite Curvy bundle with the Hydrangea Hill paper peeking out from underneath. This card was inspired by an example from the Occasions catalog. The base for this card is Purple Posy, be sure to stock up before it is sold out as it is one of the retiring colours this year.

Update on Pap

This past weekend I drove up to Ottawa to help my youngest daughter Rachel move her things out of her old apartment into storage. If in person  classes resume in September she will move back to Ottawa. On the way home we stopped for a visit with my parents. Pap finally had a haircut and he looked much better. He is 94 and the last year especially has been a rollercoaster ride. His decline in health started with a severe bout of shingles on his 93rd birthday. He was hospitalized several times and since then he has had pneumonia several times and a heart attack. Pap has COPD and is on oxygen but he is home with my mom who will be 89 on Sunday! He was happy to see Rachel.

Now maybe it is just me, but in real life he looked much better. It is hard to get a good photo of Pap under normal circumstances, but when we all need to squeeze into a corner around a bulky lazy boy and oxygen tubing it gets a little dicey.  We are thankful for every new day and are amazed that Lord willing, he will be able to celebrate Mom’s 89th birthday on Sunday. When we were talking about it he looked at her and said, you don’t look that old! How sweet.

News That You Should Know

  1. Be sure to take advantage of the great deals on the Last Chance list but also stock up on your favourite retiring colours. You can shop here.
  2. If there are any bundles in either the annual or the Occasions catalog, get them before April 30 or you will not get the discounted price. Apparently even the bundles that are in the Occasions catalog which is supposed to go until June 30 will no longer be available as a bundle price if they have carried over into the annual catalog. Don’t ask me to explain because it doesn’t make any sense to me either. I’m just giving you a heads up to avoid disappointment.
  3. The new Parcels in the Post will be released this week and it features the Friends are Like Seashells suite.
  4. There are some Virtual Coffee and a Card kits still available. They are being mailed out today. You can subscribe to this kit here.
  5. Here is my YouTube channel if you want to subscribe and follow me on Tuesdays. The latest video for Parcels in the Post is also up for viewing with four great new cards to see.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you have a super day!

Art Gallery Live Video Cards

Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. These Art Gallery cards were made during my live video on YouTube yesterday. I should actually say live “videos” since there were many of them. Truth be told it was a technologically disastrous day. I was hoping to figure out new technology so that I could stream to both YouTube and Facebook at the same time with two devices. Oh the dream!! Instead there were multitudinous mishaps.

Thankfully I did make these four cards during the last video which was successfully posted to YouTube. I will share it a little later on so you can see it too.

Hydrangea Hill Virtual Coffee and a Card Class

Hello stampers and happy Wednesday to you. Today I a sharing my Hydrangea Hill Virtual Coffee and a Card class offerings. Have you heard about my Virtual Coffee and a Card Class? Let me tell you how it works.

Virtual Coffee and a Card Class

My business was built on my weekly coffee and a card class. When COVID hit these classes were not longer possible and I struggled for a while as to how to fill the need. After trying several options, I decided to do a monthly virtual coffee and a card class. I design a card for each Tuesday of the month and then I mail out a kit for the entire month of cards. Each Tuesday morning I do a YouTube live video tutorial on one of the cards. The cost for your package is only $25 mailed anywhere in Canada.

The easiest way to join in is to subscribe and you can do that right here.

After subscribing for six months in a row, you will get a free card kit from me in the mail. I hear that Stampin’Up! is going to offer an entire new line of kits so this could be super exciting.

Hydrangea Hill Cards

My Hydrangea Hill bundle was not available for a while and it still hasn’t arrived, so I decided to design the cards around the beautiful designer series paper and the mercury acetate that comes in the suite. The pastel pearls are also on their way so these cards will look even better when they get finished off with these pretty embellishments which will be included in your kit.

Here’s a sneak peek of the other cards that I will be showing you more of next week when my pearls are here.
