Flowering Cactus Small Memories and More Cards

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you! Today I am sharing with you my Flowering Cactus small Memories and More cards. Did you know that you can buy an assorted Memories and More card pack that includes large cards and small cards? I used the large cards for my February Virtual Coffee and a Card class on YouTube but I a wanted to show you some alternative ideas using the small cards that are included in the pack.

Flowering Cactus Small Memories and More Cards

Using the small cards is a totally different experience, it is literally working with a smaller canvas. I am thrilled with how my cards turned out. Simply Succulents is the perfect partner to the Flowering Cactus Product Medley. That is where that cute flowerpot is from in case you were wondering.

A few things to note about this card. The flower pot was stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with a water painter.  That beautiful cactus is made with three cactus die cuts and the grey foliage is actually the real deal. It is dried algae or some sort of plant material that you put in potted plants or arrangements. I thought it looked really neat in this pot.

Gerard is Back in Holland

My heart is a little sad today as my favourite man is back in Holland. We had a wonderful 16 days together with the last two of them being out of quarantine. He was able to spend time with the kids and grandkids and that was priceless. We also got a nice visit in with my parents and it was touching to see how happy they were to see him. I was thrilled that Gerard could ask Pap’s blessing on our relationship.

Thank you for your patience while I took a bit of a step back from my business. There is a bunch of stuff going into the mail today and I still have to figure out next month’s coffee and a card class.

We hardly took any pictures of the two of us together but we certainly made beautiful memories. Gerard has one on his phone that he has to send me but his phone is a little the worse for wear after an incident at the airport so you will have to wait a few days until it is repaired.

Have a super day and thanks for joining me today.

Many Messages Mini Box and Cards

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you! Today I am sharing some information about the Many Messages bundle. Guest stamper is my team member Janis Taylor who made me this adorable little box with four little notecards. She was inspired by Sally Stampers from the UK. Let’s take a look at what Janis made and then I will share some of her tips and tricks.

Tips and Tricks from Janis

  1. This bundle has LOTS of variety in font styles and shapes. You can make a bunch in different colours and then have a wide assortment of sentiments available for when you make cards.
  2. The die works very well in both the old Big Shot and the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
  3. Not great for beginners as you need to use the stamparatus and a fair bit of pressure to get all the sentiments to stamp properly. When I tried it I didn’t have that problem but a person on my live video recommended putting a dry eraser on the top corner of the stamparatus to give even pressure. I’ll give that a try and let you know how it works.
  4. When using the Stamparatus make sure to stamp well away from the hinged area.
  5. The paper needs to be wide enough to place magnets on the paper. I used a piece 5 1/4″ wide by 7 3/8″ long.

Demonstration Video

I did a quick Facebook live video showing how this stamp set and dies work, you can check it out here.

If you want to see the Many Messages bundle you can see it in my online store here or by clicking on the images at the bottom of this blog post.

The beautiful butterfly on this card is cut directly from the Butterfly Bijou paper using the dies. I added wink of stella but that is hard to see in the photo but looks super pretty in real life.

Fine Art Floral Accordion Fold Card

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. I know it is a super happy Monday for me!! Gerard is finally here and he is such a sweetheart that he said, “of course you are going to write a blog post!” He is so supportive of my business, so here is a nice post about this gorgeous Fine Art Floral accordion fold card.

Every week I make a special card for my Prime Time with The Pampered Stamper group. On Wednesday I post the supply list and measurements and on Thursday at 3pm EST I do a video tutorial. Let’s take a look at this Fine Art Floral accordion fold card.

Fine Art Floral Accordion Fold Card

An accordion fold card is a great way to showcase your beautiful patterned paper. I absolutely love the Fine Art Floral suite with the hand painted paper. One of the reasons I fell in love with Stampin’Up! is that their products make me feel artistic. Do you also find that the products facilitate your creativity?

Fine Art Floral accordion fold card

If you look closely you can see that the flowers are gathered onto a beautiful stitched scalloped rectangle. Do you know where that comes from? It is from the So Sentimental bundle as is the sentiment in the inside of this card. It is definitely one of my “go to” bundles.

Fine Art Floral accordion fold card open

I just love how this card screams “spring!”. Are you ready for the pretty spring flowers popping up and bouquets of flowers on your table? For this card I used poppy parade, bumblebee, calypso coral and old olive.

Prime Time With the Pampered Stamper

If you would like to be a part of this fun group that would be just fantastic. It is only $10 a month which is much less than the cost of an actual in person class and it is open to anyone, anywhere. Here is the link if you want to join. There are also weekly or biweekly draws (depending on whether or not I remember!!) as well as a monthly 16 project pdf. That alone is worth the membership!!

Stamping With Gerard

As you might now, I am currently quarantining with Gerard at my home for another ten days. I thought it would be fun to do some kind of fun event with him and this is what I came up with. When he goes home he will have a stamping kit in his suitcase and we are going to set a date so that you can join in with a Zoom meeting where Gerard teaches the class and stamps with you. I will join in too of course but how much fun is that going to be?

The card kit that we are going to use is called Hello Dear Friend and the reason I chose this one is because of the saying in there “you make my heart smile”. He really does!! Class date is Wednesday April 21 at 7pm EST. The meeting will be recorded and also we will try to broadcast it to Facebook live as well. You can order the kit online yourself using the host code 4T7A64MU.

Thanks!

Thanks for joining me again today, sorry for the sporadic postings. With my Pap’s failing health the blog posts are definitely taking a back burner and I know that is what you would also expect. I appreciate your support very much, maybe I will see you tomorrow morning for my YouTube live video at 10am. If you have not yet had a chance to subscribe to my channel you can do so here.

The Joy of Kits

Hello stampers and happy Monday to you. Today I want to talk to you about the Joy of Kits. I know it sounds like other “joys” but kits are great fun. The biggest perk is of course the instant gratification. With little thought and no prep work you can make beautiful cards. I find that when you use a kit it can also jump start your own creativity. The kit I want to feature today is Gorgeous Posies.

The Joy of Kits:  Gorgeous Posies

If you have been following me on my business Facebook page you will know that I have been busy traveling to my parents a lot in the last few months. Pap is 94 and in declining health. It really is a miracle that he is still with us, having survived a heart attack and several bouts of pneumonia. I am so very thankful to be able to spend this time with them. We reminisce over the many blessings in his life and make

sure he knows how much he is loved. With an uncertain future I thought it would be a safe bet to focus on a kit for this months virtual coffee and a card class.

Every Tuesday at 10am I do a live video on YouTube with one of the cards for the month. If you choose to order the Gorgeous Posies kit and coordinating stamp set through me I will send you a bonus four card kit to give you more creative fun and inspiration. Please do use the current host code: 4T7A64MU. If you want to check out my YouTube channel, just click here. If you subscribe and then also click the bell icon that pops up when you do that, then you will be notified every time I post or go live. It’s easier to find videos on YouTube than it is on Facebook so it really is a wonderful resource.

Bonus Kit for Virtual Coffee and a Card class

Private Classes

I know what you are thinking. Private classes? With Covid still going strong? No worries, I was thinking virtual classes. They can be a LOT of fun too. If you would like to gather with a group of your friends and have me teach some card making , let me know. The easiest way to do that is around your favourite kit. It can be a Paper Pumpkin kit or one of the many great kits in either of our catalogs. My favourites include Hello, Dear Friend and Simply Citrus. I have ten Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkins in stock so we could also do a class around that.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you have a super day. The countdown is on!! Gerard flies to Canada on Thursday and I am ever so happy to quarantine with him.
